first, i mix heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla into a cup. this is called the "café". when i microwave it, it starts to foam a lot and then i take it out before it overflows out the cup. i call this the "crème de la crème". then i brew my coffee separately which i call the "covfefe". i pour the "covfefe" into my mug and then i slowly layer the "crème de la crème" on top. this is the final drink which i call "coffee"

I have a drip style coffee maker and manual hario hand grinder (don't know if the grind is right by eye but that's another question) and it seems like I gotta grind and use ALOT of coffee for just three cups or so.

Are there any coffee makers that are more EFFICIENT at extraction so I can use less and still have a normal strength coffee? Thanks.

Here is a cute Kobold for the trouble.
>>
>>22130458
having my second now(its the next day and i fell asleep between that one and this one so it doesnt count)
and its much better :)
i actually underfilled the moka basket and it made a pretty good brew.
very balanced, not as thick and rich as i usually like but good regardless.
>>
>>22131343
>it seems like I gotta grind and use ALOT of coffee for just three cups or so.
why does it seem like that? what is your coffee:water ratio?
if you're getting weak coffee grind finer.

Mine is a Pedantry Coffee Lab Cylin Pro. 2200 hole billet basket with the same slight taper as a Pullman 876. Not sure how many batches were made. I paid like $65 shipped when the alternative was $250+ Sworks baskets. The guy partnered with Bookoo recently to manufacture and distribute a few of his other designs. Bookoo ones are stamped and laser drilled instead of milled from a single block of billet though.

>Bookoo ones are stamped and laser drilled instead of milled from a single block of billet though.
how much of a difference does that make?
>>
>>22131349
First, the water I use is filtered well water. Then I use a Cuisinart drip style with a filter bag. The coffee beans are fresh and freshly grinded. I'm considering stopping using bags and use a metal reusable one so maybe it'll let more coffee through. Is that a good idea?

What machine like I imagine an espresso maker that forces it hot and strong through would be best at maximizing efficient extraction?

>>22131351
Monster Musume.
>>
>>22131356
Shouldn't matter at all. Way easier to make and with less material. Theyll just theoretically bow out at the bottom a little bit sooner(years down the road) from the flex like all stamped baskets.

>I'm considering stopping using bags and use a metal reusable one so maybe it'll let more coffee through.
no. a metal filter is not going to fix the strength of the coffee in your cup. if it's weak you simply need to grind finer.
you're also being limited by the quality of your water and the nature of automatic coffee makers. unless you want to start doing pourover or espresso autism and buy new gear, the only thing you can do with the gear you have is grind finer, and pay attention to your ratio and add more coffee or less water.

Do I really need some special milk steamer to make latte art? I've tried heating the milk in a measuring cup, then pouring it into the milk pitcher and frothing it until it has all those little bubbles but It never turns white.
>>
>>22131681
if your milk isnt white you certainly do have a problem. have you tried frothing it harder?
>>
>>22131701
My milk IS white until it touches the coffee. Then it stays brown. The design doesn't appear.
>>
>>22131723
you could be microwaving it too long and making it split. with those hand frothers you can even do it with cold milk so try that, or just use less heat.
if it still doesnt work you should call the milk factory.
>>
>>22131723
You need to shake the cup harder.
>>
>>22131723
What are you frothing with? If using an electric wand, try angling it toward the edge of the pitcher.

yes, I think it was an optimal choice as well, thanks for the confirmation
jokes aside, best home made coffee I've ever tried was from a cheapo version of one of these, beats capsules and I wasn't going on an adventure on espresso machines when I don't know the half about it, just wanted a good enough coffee machine and I needed it now.
haven't even tried it yet
