How difficult would it be to live solely off native Australian foods in modern day? As an Australian I feel like the only native ingredients I even see easily available most of the time are kangaroo and macadamia nuts. Anyone here tried doing this even for a brief time?

There's no law against planting native species, it's encouraged in fact.Depending on where you live, you might even be able to hunt the kangaroos directly. Fishing is also possible if you're diligent about what you catch and what you throw back. Snakes should be obtainable if you had a farm though I'm not sure it's legal to eat them or to hunt them if they're not a danger to you. They ate other animals too but you mostly won't be allowed to do that, you'd have to substitute beef/lamb/chicken for native birds/wombats etc.
you can find witchity grubs in any fallen tree or stump. They are 25% protein and 25% fat.
