>>22183252Yuzu!!
>>22183444>recently they stopped adding the metal band to the topthis is pretty fucked up. they sell exponentially more coffee than small roasters who still usually have some sealing mechanism. they could just switch to a plastic band. i am upset by this, for you.

Cold brew

The solution to water temperature is to just live at high altitude. I boil my water in a stovetop gooseneck and get perfect 95c water every time.
Espresso is the worst way to make coffee. It was invented so bars could sell cups as quickly as possible no matter the quality. There's no fixing that shit, it's fundamentally flawed.

>Look at the instructions of my kingrinder k7>mfw I've already done everything they tell you not to do>grind unroasted beans>grind with less than 15 clicks>not cleaning it for over a monthThe only one I've not done is washing it with water and even that is too stupid for me.
>>22183781Why are you grinding greens?
>>22183783Actually it was white coffee.Like 3 years ago an uncle of mine claimed he saw a bag fall off a motorcycle, he didn't recognize what the package was and brought it to me to see if I recognized them it were white coffee beans. So I bought a grinder and actually had the really rare chance of tasting white coffee and later on roasting it myself, I roasted it the lightest possible because I knew I will not have the chance of tasting a super light roast ever again.I loved both, really an experience everyone should have at least one.

Can't clean them in the dishwasher, and they need to be opened to fully dry properly so you don't die of silicone mould aids. They are really good for freezing stuff longer term than a ziploc bag though. I still have plastics around for the convenience and use these as needed or remembered.

>>22183444>ground >french roastyeah just leave the bag wide open

>>22190281just consider it an investment. you can get a cheaper grinder like a phantox pro or a k6 but after a while you're gonna want to upgrade to better grinder anyway. just get the kinu.you can probably cut $20 off the scale with a maestri house or whatever. and dont need to go crazy on a $100 kettle right off the bat. the most important thing is your grinder (and your beans)
>>22190281unless you live in a camper van, I couldn't imagine spending $350 on a grinder that you had to crank yourself
>>22190298>$350you're thinking of the classic. the traveler is much cheaper
>>22190295>phantox proNever heard of this. Is it chinese?>after a while you're gonna want to upgrade to better grinder anywayNot sure if I should ask, considering I have other slippery slope rabbit hole hobbies, but would I really? A friend that knows much more uses just a chestnut C3, although I have been starting to trust him less and less considering he smokes cigs. One time I let him sip my espresso and he ruined it with his cig mouth. How can a cighead appreciate coffee notes?>>22190298Yeah the cheaper traveller. Just looks cool and I do want a manual one. Seems fun.
>>22190326>Is it chinese?Yes. As a prior owner of a 2019 Kinu Phoenix, you're going to love it. Both burr sets are great.
>>22190335Is this an upgrade or a replacement for the stock one in the traveller?
>>22190326>Is it chinese?yes. https://coffeechronicler.com/mavo-phantox-pro-review/>would I really? you know yourself better than we do, but if you stick with the hobby for a long time it is likely. because your budget grinder will be good enough to highlight some areas of the bean, while being muddy in others. you'll eventually want something that brings more clarity in general, or highlights different ends of the bean spectrum specifically, or is better for certain applications.
>>22189666>repent>666
>>22190337Just an alternate to swap in if you want to try a different presentation. You see how they have the Phoenix and Phoenix Brew?https://kinugrinders.com/products/m47-phoenix-brew
>>22190337That is literally the k6 burr
>>22190339Yooo, what if I don't buy a grinder and instead just ask the cafe I'll be buying beansies from to grind it for me on their super duper expensive grinders? Wonder if that will affect aging and storing. Not sure how fast it will take me to finish a bag.
>>22190347Oh wait so I want the brew instead? I wanted the traveler for pic related and because it's a bit smaller.>>22190353Didn't they steal it from Kinu?
>>22190356oh okay i didnt realize you were trolling, that's my bad
>>22190364Matt Winton won the World Brewers Cup with the standard Italmill "espresso" burr. Both make fantastic pourover.
>>22190364>forgot pic>>22190371I'm not?
Ok, so if you guys don't have any better advice, I'll either get a Kinu grinder, because I like Kinu, or an M3 Bomber if I wanna save money. I'll get a Timemore or a Fellow kettle, since I want the convenience if I'll just be making pour over all the time. I'll get some timemore scale, as I don't think there are any better alternatives for the price really.I want an Origami dripper. Since I can get stuff from Japan, don't they have some cool exclusives? I remember someone in here posting some cool looking Origami x Hario limited edition server or something? I can't seem to find it. I do want pic related though.
>>22190281Pic related is the new budget electric standard. Basically light commercial spec for $160.
>>22190427Eurekas are and always will be junk. Other than the 75mm Atom that runs the Mythos burrs.>>22190423Same 2019 kinu anon(also when I imported my red Origami from Kyoto). You don't have to buy the carafe out of Japan. Origami has good distribution worldwide for alot of their stuff now.https://www.slowpoursupply.co/products/origami-x-hario-glass-carafe
>>22190427This is ugly, not manual, and doesn't look very portable though.>>22190439Nah not talking about this one. It was from some instagram post. I don't remember exactly what it was, but it had a rounder shape. Kinda similar to pic related I think, not sure. Maybe I shouldn't get this though, because I want to get an Origami and a Kalita, and the Kalita doesn't look compatible.
>>22190423people will literally buy anything huh
>>22190423get the kinu because the thumb holder is peak. skip the timemore kettle, it's too big unless you're making 5 cups of coffee. the timemore scale is fucking trash, i owned one and i absolutely hated it. switched to booko themis ultra.
>>22190423Origami Pinn + Prolog holder looks great.>>22190462Origamis don't come with a base. You have to put them on a ring or hang them low directly in a carafe.
>>22190423>MHW R3Skip it. The stock R3 burrs suck and the newer R3 Pro apparently doesn't allow for replacing the inner cone burr with a Kinu POB. Which was the only reason to get that grinder in the first place.>>22190439The more expensive models definitely fall short compared to their competition. But again we're talking about a $160 electric grinder here, and probably even cheaper than that in Europe. There is nothing in that price range that comes close to the build quality of the Peppe. Everything else is just plastic stamped metal geared brushed dc motor garbage while this is a fully cast metal housing with direct drive AC motor. It can also use the 50mm brew burrs that perform very well according to various accounts. >>22190445Didn't realize you were only looking for a manual travel grinder.
>>22190423>I'll get a Timemore or a Fellow kettle, your priorities are all out of whack. get a nice grinder and a stock kettle. >$80 dripper setupcome on now
>>22190465What kettle then?>>22190486I'm scared to google the prolog holder. It's gonna be one million dollars.>>22190506What kettle and grinder would you recommend?
>>22190525you dont deserve my keen observations and insights. you're just doing this for some pussy anyway. you probably dont even really like coffee.
>>22190544Untrue. I've been planning on getting a set for months. I just happened to get blessed last week.

so if theyre using artificial flavors in colombia in co-ferments but also in other processes then how are we supposed to believe they arent doing that in every coffee producing third world nation on earth? are the only "safe" processes natural and washed?
>>22191019any kind of ferment that isn't just coffee cherries and only coffee cherries is a marketing gimmick to make mediocre beans more desirable
>>22191118yeah but theyre saying theyve found evidence of artificial flavoring even in coffee not labeled as co-fermented, suggesting that even in other fermentation processes they could be adding artificial flavors into the vat.

>>22191849LE Colorway. Otherwise its just a normal S.>Inspired by Kiso lacquerware and the traditional use of iron-rich sabi-tsuchi(錆土)>Layered cream and amber tones recreate the visual warmth of translucent suki-urushi(透漆)>Reactive glaze gives every dripper its own natural variations in colour, texture and gloss>Fine iron specks bring warmth and texture to the base, while the organic lustre of the glaze gives the dripper a calm, refined presence. >>22192276Yes they are that bad. The only claim to fame for the DF grinders was being the absolute cheapest option to mount aftermarket 64mm burrs. But the spongy burr mounts give the grinder shit burr stability and render performance differences between burr geometries largely moot. Hence you get shit like video related.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3-dvxoVgT4The Vario despite its mountain of flaws has two affordable and very contrasting burrs that are excellent at what they do, and a good record of aftermarket parts support. The newer Eurekas can be had even cheaper than the DF64 and perform about equivalent, or better if you're going for traditional shots. The 064s is probably the grinder to get since it's on clearance sale for only a bit more and is a good enough platform that you're not throwing money down the drain buying aftermarket burrs for it.
