why do they call him Tokiyucky
>>3984480Because he is a dirty slut. I heard he slept with a whole city.
>>3984757And now he can sleep with you too!
Also bonus from the latest english volume.
>>3984453Probably yeah. Looking forward to it how fans are gonna interpret him.
RIP Tokiyuki.
>>3986135>only a trap can defeat a trapIf he has to lose, this would be the least painful way.
The Yoshioki x Tokiyuki bromance was a pleasant surprise.
>Tokiyuki is older now than Akiie was when he died>so is the formerly little Nitta>and not just slightly older, but 5 and 7 yearsMy mind refuses to accept it.
Nyaaan
>tfw no tokimeowki
>>3988766Why did he have to join the evil side? :<
>>3988852>join the winning side>still manage to loseWhy indeed.
>Elusive Samurai is on the final Tokiyuki vs Takauji battle>will get a cover this week (usually done for series with less than 5 chapters before they end)Please don't end yet. I'm not ready to let it go.
>>3991486Just let it go. Tokiyuki stopped being a shota a long time ago and lost his charm anyway. Author suddenly making him straight isn't helping either.
Fubuki fans won today.
>>3991697Deserved. They are the most loyal.I now half expect his next manga to more aggressively pander to fujos. They've been his most reliable fans twice in a row now. And he's clearly aware of that fact.
>>3991699Wishful thinking, wake up. If he cared about gays/fujos he would not have baited to then spit on us so much. Need I remind you he also baited with Nagisa and Karma? So far he seems to be very anti homo... But congratulations Tokifubu shippers, enjoy it while it lasts I guess.
>>3991812I've seen this sort of purity spiralling about other mangaka too, and there's two big issues with it. First, and most obvious, is that they do not have full creative freedom to do anything they want. And WSJ is about as restrictive as you're going to get. Not even Togashi was willing to make his MCs openly gay for one another. While bait can be cynical and malicious, it is usually an expression of the mangaka's own interests or sincere fanservice that is limited to bait by the realities of manga publishing. You meantion Karmagisa negatively, but that was an example of some pretty hard fujo pandering to the extent that it involved undercutting the pandering to the main demographic of the magazine.Second is this expectation that people be 100% homo purists and that anything less is a betrayal or hostility. I chalk this up mostly to dogmatic Western ideas about sexuality. But really, even in the West it doesn't make much sense. Although it makes even less sense expecting it from Japan. Many, if not most, Japanese artists that like homo pairings also like het ones too. And this becomes more true as the boys they like become cuter and younger. Most shotacons at least dabble with het stuff.Matsui is consistent with these norms. He does clearly like oneshota/inpio. But he also clearly likes onishota. There are plenty of mangaka that don't like homo stuff and hate when people gay ship their characters. None of those people are ever going to create a Nagisa or a Tokiyuki or put them in the relationships and situations that Matsui does. Even just the fact that he makes his boys so lewd is gay/fujo pandering. Straight boys and men are not looking for erotic male characters.
>>3991883Pandering is for nothing if they're going to make the characters so obviously straight anyway. So showing heavily implied het sex is perfectly okay but gay sex isn't huh? Just bait and instead heavily imply it's just friendship, "bromance"...And I mean, there was Myozuru and Takauji but look at how he ended up treating it.If these artists like homo as much as they do het, shouldn't they give both the same treatment? And sure, I get the whole WSJ and general publisher restrictions, having to accommodate to the brainwashed homophobes (sane straight dudes wouldn't mind) and whatnot but come on, either do or do nothing at all.If these artists truly wished to do full-on gay stuff just like they do het, they would have done so already at the very least as "unofficial" works of which the magazine publishers shouldn't have a say about but I didn't see any of that from Matsui. So what's it to you? No balls or adhering to heteronormativity nonsense (or both)?
>>3991955>"unofficial" works of which the magazine publishers shouldn't have a say aboutThis is unfortunately not the case. I'm not sure if this is something written into contracts or if it's just unspoken social convention, but there is definitely an expectation that mangaka not draw stuff that could be controversial even in an unofficial capacity. Even Tsukushi doesn't have any publically released lewds. And homo and het just simply doesn't get treated the same. Like if Matsui were to go to another magazine, it still wouldn't entirely fix the problem. While not as hardline as shounen, even seinen publishers aren't all that enthusiastic about gay MCs. And BL is expected to just be smut with little in the way of plot.I would love for there to be openly homo shounen manga. But I recognize that, as things currently are, the only way that could happen is someone starting off self publishing. That's more viable now than ever. But it's still hard to do and it would be unfair to expect that from people. So, until someone manages to pull it off, I will support the mangaka that at least get closer to that ideal. Rewarding homobait communicates that a market for it exists. And that's the only way we're ever getting more overtly homo manga.
>>3991955Shueisha owns the copyrights to almost every manga they publish, and the author even just posting a cute doodle on twitter could be considered a breach of contract if it isn't explicitly approved by the company
>>3991960>>3991962It doesn't even have to be related to the officially published manga or be lewd, just openly gay stuff.I don't know, maybe I'm an ignorant but where does Matsui shares his original homo drawings? Tsukushi at least have Reg heavily implied to popping a boner to other boys.Whatever, there's a reason why I don't usually consume anything outside stuff properly sold as BL from the get go and funnily enough, trap artists satisfy my needs more than anyone else. It's just not fair that, as a shotacon and hungry for homo stuff involving shota, there's way too many cuties in shounen manga. I hate bad tricks as much as bad treats.
>>3992146Is this before, during or after Uesugi's experimentation on him?
>>3992206Going to assume during. The artist also said they got spoiled (I think) so it matches with the brief flashback in the chapter.
>>3992206After. While Tokiyuki was willing to take him back without issue, the other elusive warriors insisted on some correction.
>>3992229It's a shame that we are in the final battle and everyone is too busy being murderaped by Takauji to banter about Fubuki's return and bully him a bit. I want to see them punish him in different ways.

Favorite waka?
>>3994430All of them, but they are not as good as my husband.
>>39944301333. With Chojumaru outfit > teal Kamakura outfit > red Kamakura outfit.Although the actual best look is the armor he never wore from the first pages of the first chapter that no one does art of.
>>3994430Late 1335 right after cutting his hair because he's at his peak girliest and a shota > Early 1337 for being the 2nd girliest, still a shota > 1333 for being the shotaest1340 still looks kinda fine but too old already and I just don't care about the adult form.
>The Elusive Samurai by Yusei Matsui will 'conclude its main story' next week in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #49.>The series 'will continue for a bit longer than anticipated' the following week onward, according to the series' author comment.I'm not ready to say goodbye. Even if the quality of the manga decreased after the timeskips I'm still too attached to it and its characters to accept the end.
>>3995042Gaiden confirmed?
>>3995042Even knowing it was nearing its end, this is surprising. I would have thought the Takauji battle was only 2/3 or even 1/2 of the way over. Not sure what to make of "will continue for a bit longer than anticipated". But I too am not ready for it to be over.
>>3995042Honestly I'm glad it's finally over because it's been sucking bad lately and a drag to read and I'm still doing so simply because I've got to finish what I start or I can't sleep, with a sprinkle of curiosity as well.
>>3994870The bird has to show up in the next chapter, right? Since it is "concluding the main story".
>>3995042Yeah characters are usually the issue. There are a bunch of series I will discover at any given point of time that I end up enjoying, some of them might even have fantastic stories, but whether I manage to get into the characters is a different thing and usually I don't. And the series that have the types of dudes that are just right for me are few and far between.
>>3996042I can't stick with a manga, or anything else, unless I really like at least some of the characters. I don't think of my tastes as being all that particular. But I drop enough things over this that I guess they are.
