If only your character arc had not been so half-assed and unfinished by the end of the webcomic, or your romantic relationship had unfolded without relying solely on secondhand accounts. If the Alpha Timeline's version of you could have faced off against Caliborn, that would have been something, but no.If people are actually serious about the Homestuck anime, rather than funneling time, budget, and resources into flashy animations and star-studded casting, a better approach would be to assemble a skilled writing team to expand upon and refine the existing material, ultimately reimagining Homestuck with a more cohesive build-up and a satisfying conclusion. Maybe the Post-Retcon Alpha kids could interact with their Pre-Retcon/Game Over counterparts during the newly retconned three-year meteor voyage, preventing their session's failures. Maybe Calliope’s juju could be omitted in favor of the kids engaging in open dialogue to resolve their issues independently. Just imagine a final battle where the Alpha kids confront kid Caliborn in the new universe, while at the same time, the ghosts, Vriska, and the Beta kids take on the adult Lord English in the Furthest Ring. The animated series could just be a glorified live reading with voice acting and PowerPoint slides and it would still be a good adaptation if these concerns were addressed, if the story was longer, more detailed, had greater character development, and resolved all the lingering plot holes. Oh, if only.
