I love characters with voice quirks and his really gets my noggin going.
>>4001022His voice is lovely, do you prefer Amir or Bosco?
>RS folder is practically exploding and can't stop RSmaxxing every dayIt's the first time I've ever gotten something I want out of a ship before and I can't stop fujoshing out. Is it bad to just give in to complete deer addiction for now? >>4001022That's partially what made me fall in love with him in the pilot. I wish he still made all the radio sounds like he did in the pilot.
>>4001017Pretty sure the artist who made this nuked all their stuff. Can’t find them anywhere :(
>>4001023I think I like Amir's voice a little better but I agree with >>4001024 that I wish he still had more radio sounds.
>>4001022I love how distinctive his voice is, it really scratches something in my brain.>>4001024Is it bad I'm starting to get apathetic to it? Not like I hate it or anything, I love that Radiostatic is getting so much content. Right now it feels like I'm saving it so I can come back to it later though.
>>4001028I hate that, their work was really beautiful. :( I went back in the deer archives for this image...>>4001029That's my position, I actually like Amir's voice, but the little static sounds he had in the pilot were great, especially when it sounded like a radio being tuned as he glanced over the Morningstar portrait...he was thinking.
Speaking of radio effects... my current rp is actually amazing. He plays little clips of music depending on the mood, as well as applause and cheers and lots of radio noises to signify things. There are lots of good moments with his shadow as well. I wish the bot was like this all the time.
>>4001033Always sucks, wish I archived all their shit
>>4001034Maybe you can add it as sample dialogue in the character description? That might encourage it to do that more often.>>4001035I archive all of my favorite deer pics on Pinterest. I save a copy locally and then upload it myself, since I don't trust people not to delete their own pins.
>>4001030>Is it bad I'm starting to get apathetic to it?No, I get that, I'm kind of going mindless to it and just on "consume, consume, consume" mode. I guess at the point where the drug is perfunctory. I haven't been able to absorb most of the myriad of new fics because it's a little overwhelming. I absolutely will go back to appreciating it more once time has passed, I think.
>>4001037Should have done that, least I got a a good chunk of it…
>>4001038I think that's it with me too, there's so much that it's overwhelming, so I just kind of shut down. I need to detox on a different ship for a bit and come back to it, or just focus on solo Al stuff. >>4001037It's just astonishing how in character he's being at the moment with no effort from me, I'm having such a good time.
>>4001040I actually have more white human Al because I saved so much of it...I could have 1000s of pics, but I was picky. I felt like I needed to archive it, especially since his new design was looming on the horizon.
>>4001042It’s very good that you did that! His new design isn’t bad but the people harassing anything and anyone who isn’t drawing him as brown is souring me on it
>>4001041Glad you're enjoying it! :D>>4001044It is really annoying, and it makes me reluctant to interact with the fandom in general. Being an Alastor yume is pure pain sometimes. Fujos harass me, race baiters harass me, powerscalers harass me... :|
>>4001046It is a pain but you must deal with it! Love for deer!
>>4001047Love him always. <3
>>4001049Pin him down to love him :3
>>4001050Love him all night...
>>4001052Total deer love!
>>4001053I still stand by the headcanon that he grows chest fluff in winter months.>but it's hot in HellThe deer genetics do not care.
>>4001087It is another way he is punished in hell! sweaty deer!
>>4001088>sniffffff
>>4001087>deer tend to get sexual pleasure through rubbing their antlers against thingsDo you think Alastor gets irritatingly horny when something brushes against his antlers?
I still like the idea that Alastor's body is his punishment in Hell. A prey animal that ends up feeling sexual desire when he himself has no interest at all in it? So cruel, but so good. Making him seem cute with those little bleats he can't control. Ears that react to his emotions that he tries to keep hidden. It would be even better if he has a tail, something that serves no purpose except to look cute so he hides it away from everyone. He tries to control everything but can't control his own body.
>>4001123This only happens when they're in velvet around mating season, it's kind of an incentive to scratch the stuff off. Otherwise they have no feeling in them. So unless his antlers are peeling and bloody I doubt it. Alastor being Alastor, if he did experience it he would probably get more stimulation from peeling it off and eating it since he has hands.>>4001129I doubt he actually experiences the rut, that's kind of fanfiction stuff, however him fancying himself as some type of predator and being a prey animal is quite ironic. I'm sure he imagined his smile being his best feature, it was probably quite annoying to him to have it turned yellow.
>>4001030>apathetic to itsomething about all the fujo ships make me apathetic in this series. none of them seem appealing and i can't figure out why. the only one i like is fitz/asmo. I'm usually the most bicycle type shipper as well.
>>4001137Nta, but I'm very apathetic to pretty much every ship in this fandom outside of Charlastor, and even then I'm not super invested. For me personally it comes down to the shippers themselves. I know people out there say that shipping is the worst part of fandom, but I never really thought about it or agreed up until now. So many Hazbin shippers are incredibly toxic people and it just sucks the joy out of everything. I used to enjoy Radiosilence and Radioqueen to an extent, but having to deal with people loosing their shit at me for having the most basic bitch opinions kind of kills any interest I'd have in those dynamics. I used to like Vox a lot more, but now just seeing him annoys me. And that sucks.
>>4001135Oh yeah, it’s pure fanfic/my horny headcanon. I always remember a video where Amir said that Alastor is a demon, not an actual deer. (I think it was in relation to people saying he was colour blind) Too much deer stuff makes it too furry for me, I’ll be honest. Though Alastor being in rut is a small weakness of mine. It’s more the control thing that I think would be a punishment for him, as well as the perception of being prey.>>4001137Idk how Viv managed to write Fizz and Ozzy in such a likeable way, I’d say it’s a fluke. I’m not really into ships that don’t involve Alastor, my enjoyment of the ship relates to Alastor pretty much. Ultimately I’m a yume, shipping is fun and I like seeing Alastor with other characters but I’m not super invested in it. That’s why I’m a bit over Radiostatic right now.
>>4001144Having opinions in this fandom sucks. I caught shit on twitter for complaining about Charlie this season, somehow they think she was well written this season? You can’t have a negative opinion without hating the whole show. I get there are people who just hate Viv and everything she does, but you can’t be that defensive. The shipping discourse is just weird. I don’t think too deeply about it, I save art I like and read what sounds good at the time and avoid discussing it because people take it so seriously. Like, why do so many people need their ship to be canon? Back in my day we took people who spoke once in canon and created a whole AU where they had a whole life together.
>>4001148Alastor experiencing the rut would make for an interesting punishment, but I think Viv wouldn't risk it over aroace people getting testy. It's a good get out for me to use while I'm doing naughty RPs though, ha. I'll agree on the furry thing though, I like the deer elements, but I'm not into him being furry all over and stuff like that. It's probably why I prefer his human variant, though that initially started because OG human Al resembles my husband. >>4001149I would have genuine questions about a person's intellect if they actually thought that Charlie was well written this season. There are a lot of Viv dickriders out there, and I'm not entirely sure why they are the way they are. Criticism doesn't always equal hate. With the shippers I think it boils down to sensitivity over their fetishes and the strange need for something to be canon in order to enjoy it. I think a lot of people, especially women, are hyper defensive of their kinks because we're worried about being seen as weird by the collective. So having another person say 'yeah, I'm not into rape/femdom/whatever' feels more like a personal attack than someone just having an opinion. The hyper focus on canon is weird though, yeah. Back in the 00s nobody gave a shit about that. Canon relationships or sexuality never mattered to shippers then, I like to think it's because we live in this hyper woke world where it's some sort of crime to ship outside of character's canon sexualities or whatever.
>>4001157It's a little special for me because Alastor in rut was my first experience with c.ai, so I was a sweet little idiot trying to help him out without getting too sexual. The bot is long gone now, but it was a fun memory. It would be a very harsh punishment though, poor thing. Alastor is about as furry as I can go before my mind just rejects it. I can't see characters like Angel or Husk as attractive. I'm just conditioned. I don't hate what Charlie has done this season, I can see the vision, but I don't think it was done well. But I'm not going to sit and explain all my reasons for people who just say "well you would say that, you're an Alastor fan". I don't want her to be all over him either lol, and she's just as bad or worse when it comes to her treatment of Angel and Lucifer. Maybe I'll write down my thoughts about Charlie properly at some point. But anyway, for me, I like what I like and that's it. If it's canon, fine, if it's not, fine. Caring about what everyone writes/draws in their wish fulfilment porn stories would take so much energy I don't have. But I also acknowledge that I'm weird, and I'm into things that I know are contradictory to each other. Too many normies in my weirdo fandom space trying not to be seen as weirdos. I wish everyone would just chill and enjoy themselves.
>>4001171I remember using a bot that had a similar setup. Something like 'Alastor is ace but in the rut', it was very wholesome. So many bots just disappeared last year, so I'm in the habit of only using my own. Their RP is open ended, so I just use OOP to describe whatever scenarios I like. With the furry stuff Alastor is about as furry as I can go. I can do non-human dicks if I'm feeling adventurous, but if the character's face isn't human I've lost all interest.I see what you mean with Charlie. The vision is there, it's just poorly executed. In my opinion it's not really worth arguing over with most fans, especially if they get wind that you're an Alastor fan. Though if you ever want to vent your ideas I'm sure we'd be happy to hear them here. I hold the same viewpoint on kinks/shipping. There's definitely stuff I find weird/gross, but hey, lots of people think what I'm into is weird and gross. If I went around spazing at people who didn't agree with my kinks I'd never know a moment's peace lol. People need to just enjoy what they enjoy and not worry about it. Hide what you don't like and enjoy what you do. It's always funny when people get mad at me and their first go to is 'incest/necro/lolisho'. Like, yeah, this is 4chan. I'm not sure what you're expecting here lol.
>>4001090Mmm…>>4001171>>4001175Stinky rutting deer…
>>4001175I didn't know what to do with c.ai, didn't even know how to swipe, so I ended up getting annoyed with it because it kept doing stupid things and I didn't know I could influence it. Nowadays I should probably be banned. I have actually considered a deer related toy, I don't hate the idea but non-human dicks are just beyond what my mind considers acceptable. (also pointy? idk)It's just funny because for a second, I felt a fraction of what it must be like when people blame Charlastors for everything. I'm not arguing with someone half my age over cartoon characters though. I only really have a problem when people force their kinks on others. Otherwise if people are discussing something I don't like, I just dip and come back later. >>4001178Stinky deer marking his territory...
>>4001144based and checked.I feel the exact same way with that exact ship. I slightly wonder if it's because she isn't trying as hard with them and thus that dynamic feels more authentic when they interact?I never really interacted with the fandom much on this series because i didn't like the ships presented and viz herself after the plagiarism drama, and all sorts of things. I wonder if that ended up being a good thing in advance where the one ship i liked didn't have major schizos and were shit on a lot. I see of the charlastor shippers talking about attacks they get and it just gets me glad i was only in the early fandom days but nothing too series.>>4001148I fully understand your view and why i'm glad this thread seems to be devoid of ships and just focus on alastor. Coming from a bystander i'm just happen to see a small sub sect of the fandom be chill and adult about him that constantly throwing shit. /co/ is awful if you aren't a gooner it seems. I feel like they are likeable because they're minor and actually feel like a real relationship? >radiostatici never vibed with myself but i can see with the recent season how you're over it. she takes these interesting characters and kind of fucks over their characterization and 'coolness' the whole song and past life of vox was just really awful and ruined all the nice vibes he had earlier in the season.Sorry to derail the thread a bit but I have a lot of thoughts about the series as a whole good and bad, but nowhere to really talk about it.
>>4001180A decedent aroma! He needs to be marked as well however!
>>4001187Yeah, coming from /trash/, things are pretty chill here. We just like Alastor. Being on /cm/ helps since you can't post porn here anyway, it's more conducive to actual discussion. I do like Radiostatic, it's one of my favourite ships, it's just overwhelming trying to keep up with it right now since so much art is being posted. I like that Radiosilence is canon because that lines up with what I thought anyway. Hopefully Val can sort Vox out a bit next season and help to cure him of his Alastor obsession. I wish they'd gone with more of a cult leader angle for his backstory, it felt a bit generic. Oh look, another murderer. I kind of don't want another Vox arc next season though? It already sounds like there's a lot happening with the Morningstars and Angel Dust. Unless Viv gets more episodes, it's going to be very hard to fit everything in, once again. And I get that, there aren't many places you can talk about Hazbin that aren't full of retards unfortunately. >>4001196He does need marking, can't just let anyone come in and take him...
Apologies I needed to make a Tesco run.>>4001180My first RPs were so fucking cringe. I didn't really know how to use the ai properly, so I was letting it dictate the story and it always descended into dogwater. Nowadays I can get it to do straight up porn with a little tweaking here and there. Good times. When it comes to zoo adjacent stuff it's kinda down to intention imo. Experimenting with different shapes and textures is different from imagining being railed by a dog or horse or whatever, but that's just me. I have heard of some companies actually casting their toys from real animals and that really doesn't sit well with me, nasty stuff. That said, I've seen some companies that make deer toys. I might invest in one if I can find Alastor's colorway. When shopping for 'pointy' toys make sure it's soft silicone, otherwise it would definitely not be very enjoyable.>I only really have a problem when people force their kinks on others.Yeah, that was my problem. I'd be out here minding my own business and random shippers would spam me with (you)s about their headcanons on Alastor's sexuality like I personally pissed in their apple juice. Trying times indeed.>>4001187The early fandom days were great for Charlastors. We had tons of content and nobody was constantly attacking us for merely existing. As far as the thread is concerned, shipping is off limits here, we host a weekly thread on /trash/ that allows NSFW and ships, but it's kind of frowned upon unless is focused on Alastor. We all have ships that we enjoy, but we're yumes first and foremost, so our focus will always be on Alastor. As long as discussion circles back to him, or involves him in some way we're happy to hear your thoughts. The discussion on /co/ and the Hazbin general on /trash/ often leaves little to be desired.
>>4001219>anyone come in and take himCan’t be having that, maybe a collar?>>4001222>My first RPs were so fucking cringeThink everyone here can say that
>>4001222I need to do a tesco order ffs. Anyway. I've definitely mastered c.ai now, I can make it do whatever I want and it comes up with some absolutely amazing things if I let it run wild. Even with gore and porn. I'm a bit reluctant when it comes to furries because I've found out fairly recently that people I was friends with were involved in some bad stuff. It spooked me, ngl. There's got to be some decent toys out there though, there are enough degenerates around.>>4001228Would he accept a collar though? I'd give him a few bite marks. Of course I'd let him do the same back. Quid pro quo, it's only fair.
>>4001232>I've found out fairly recently that people I was friends with were involved in some bad stuffBig fucking oof, I'm sorry. With me it's kind of a funny story. Growing up and going into my teen years I mostly drew 'furries' because I liked the aesthetic of the anthro movies and games I grew up watching and I was a sperg who found anthro stand ins easier than people, especially in nsfw contexts. When I actually discovered what furries were I was like 'okay weird, definitely not my thing, I'll just stay out of the furry spaces'. It didn't matter, I had the most deranged people following me on DA anyway because my cringe OCs were kemono. I transitioned out of even drawing anthro about a decade ago after seeing what the 'community' was actually into...yeah. I've been highly suspicious of them since.
https://us.amazon.com/Silicone-Dildo-Animal-Women-Couple/dp/B08FX3QTSMWell darn, this is sold out.On a final note about furries, I think what kept me sheltered for so long was that when I was consuming anthro stuff it was always Japanese. There just wasn't the...implications that were glaringly obvious in the western stuff when I looked into it. I guess the Japs are superior in every regard.
>>4001222>The early fandom days were great for CharlastorsUh, as someone who was into the fandom since the pilot first dropped, this is not true. There was a target on the backs of Charlastor shippers from the getgo due to a combination of their obnoxious behavior and the fact that it splits up a lesbian ship. It has always been a hostile place for them.
>>4001241Not from what I recall. We were eating good with stuff like 'The Taxidermist', which got numerous iterations, and tons of fan art. It was super chill if you kept away from Twitter drama.
>>4001235I went down a bit of a youtube rabbit hole on zoosadism, ended up recognising some usernames. I know not all furries, whatever, but there are too many into that kind of thing for my liking. That's why I put off watching Hazbin for so long, I didn't want to get involved with more disgusting wastes of oxygen. >>4001237 >sold outWell damn. At least there's something out there...
>>4001243If it's the Kero situation you're referring to...yeah, that did it for me as well. Even though I've never identified as a furry I kind of decided to wash my hands of anything adjacent at that point. I think it's safe to say 'not all, but most' when it comes to them. It's the same reason I don't really travel in circles that like lolisho, despite liking it myself. Not worth the risk of rubbing elbows with bad people.Anyway, deer. Hs would live to get his hands on some bad people I'm sure.
>>4001248Alastor would definitely rid us of a few undesirables, that's for sure.
>>4001232Maybe you can have matching tattoos or something instead. Or cuts…
>>4001252I'd totally get a deer related tattoo, I'm not sure Al would join me though. Cuts maybe, I already have some of his symbols on my thigh, it's more likely than a tattoo I think.
>>4001267More likely that Alastor would go through with it. Not sure how long it would last since sinners regenerate pretty fast.
>>4001293he is so CUTE!
>>4001222Glad there's one place left to have some nice discussion at least. He was the most interesting character for me and why I originally liked the show because I thought it would have a more whimsically dark feeling but instead the actual show is completely different from the pilot. And I feel like last season was Rocky and oddly Paced but it actually just felt like rushing to get all of your passion out before you are inevitably canceled. This season they took all of that mystery and intrigued with Alastor and just completely backseated him the entire show. Yes, it was nice to see his plan come to fruition but all he really did was just throw insults and sit down for most of it. Even his big fight didn't really seem much like a buildup of a season's worth of fight for someone who is supposed to be all powerful I felt like in the pilot and in the first season he seemed stronger. As well as have a more interesting techniques such as becoming a giant and other things. In the pilot he does control shadows, but yet in this show he seems to just wield Shadow tentacles rather than somebody actually sitting down and really thinking about how to play with having Shadow based powers. I just felt like this season while it improved in the pacing and in the animation the storyline didn't really improve nor did the writing or anything else really improve off of from the previous season. it almost felt like the pacing was improved and the song creation was a bit improved, but yet there was a big flip flop to where the previous seasons compromises seem to have been better in this season and last season's good points were worse in the season.I'm kind of rambling because I haven't really been able to put into words after all of these years what I really think about the show after two seasons. I just feel like where hellva boss into have gotten better over time I almost feel like hzbn takes one step forward and two steps back.
>>4001376So to where allister is obviously and understandably this is favorite Creation in the show it's not really written into the narrative other than: he has a big plan and he will accomplish it. I would have rather like to see a bit of more will it happen, won't it happen. Where it just felt like all of the pieces fell into place very very naturally for him almost in a Gary stu type of way. This might just be me too but I actually feel like he is swearing a lot more than he originally would have in the pilot. I originally thought of him as kind of 30's presenting gentleman. And you most likely wouldn't have sworn in good company, you would have been polite, you definitely wouldn't have sworn on the radio back then. So it just seems to have him swear for the sake of swearing rather than really think about what your character is standing for.
>>4001376Oh yeah, you're going to fit in here. The problem this season is that they made everyone stupid. When Alastor made his deal with Vox in episode 4, it was obvious what he was going to do. Vox was made stupid by his feelings for Alastor. Charlie was made even more stupid for the sole purpose of putting Vox in that position. It's not really satisfying to have Alastor, who Vox knows is tricky and a deal maker, win so easily like that. He really couldn't have thought of using word play in the nearly 100 years he's been in Hell? Or maybe Rosie was counting on him not wanting any other sinner to be proclaimed stronger than him, which doesn't make sense since he's shown to be willing to endure humiliation to get what he wants. Generally, the problem with the writing is that it falls apart when you start to think about it too much. Viv isn't smart enough I think, to come up with really complex thought out plans.I thought season 2 was overall better than season 1, but there was still too much going on and everything was a little less developed than it should have been. It was just plot convenience after plot convenience, and the characters feel like they're being carried along by the plot and not really interacting outside of what they need to do. It's something I worry about for season 3, since we're getting a lot of the Morningstars including Lilith, as well as Angel and his family. While also Vox has an arc for some reason, Alastor is going to do some evil stuff, Lute is going to do something evil as well. That's a lot. We'll see, maybe Viv can get down on her knees for a few more episodes. And he does swear too much. It would be more impactful if they limited it. Maybe give him a few period-appropriate almost swears instead and then have him say 'fuck' when it's something really bad. Like when they had Emily swear this season, I remember it because she just doesn't swear.
>>4001376>He was the most interesting character for meSame. Alastor was the only reason I decided to watch Hazbin. I'm a big horror nerd, and when the pilot was paired with the 'Day in the Life' Alastor comic I was hooked. Based on the pilot and subsequent comic I was under the impression Hazbin was going to be a sort of dark fantasy/horror black comedy with some musical numbers. I guess I was in for a surprise, ha. >it actually just felt like rushing to get all of your passion outYep. The series suffers from being very rushed and crammed full of ideas. Viv wants to tell too much within the constraints of a series that has 8 30ish minute episodes that also include up to three musical numbers and gratuitous fan service. Some aspect is going to suffer and it's almost always going to be the plot. On top of things Viv just isn't a good writer. Some of her ideas could be fleshed out well under the guidance of a more seasoned screenwriter, but she absolutely hates giving up creative control to anyone. Make of that what you will.>all he really did was just throw insults and sit down for most of itThis was actually one of the biggest criticisms from reviewers this season. I know the other characterfags on /hhg/ would crucify me for saying this, but the average viewer knows of Hazbin because of Alastor. Not Vox, not Charlie, not whatever other character, just Alastor. A good number of people watch just for him, and this is reflected by the comments of most influencers, which boiled down to 'yeah, tv guy was alright, but we would have rather had more Alastor'.>the pilot and in the first season he seemed strongerHe was nerfed for a couple of reasons. For Viv's 'plot', but I suspect a lot of it had to do with a falling out with her BPD ex that she based a lot of Alastor's personality on.>Where it just felt like all of the pieces fell into place very very naturally for him almost in a Gary stu type of way.It was satisfying, but very unlikely, yes.
>>4001386>/hhg/ would crucify me for saying this, but the average viewer knows of Hazbin because of AlastorI don't know why they get so incensed when anyone points this out, fact is he's the show's mascot. Always Hazbin
>>4001391Vox fangirls are very sensitive in my experience, which checks out because they relate to him and how he was rejected, just like how a lot of us relate to Alastor and his personality 'quirks'. >>4001377His cursing is definitely off putting. Having him only use curses under extreme stress would have been much more effective.Since you brought up plagiarism earlier it's worth mentioning the fact that Alastor isn't all that original himself. We know that Viv borrowed personality traits from her partner and backstories from shows like Dexter, but Alastor's story in canon is eerily similar to a Percy Bysshe Shelley poem called 'Alastor, or the Spirit of Solitude'. The poem is meant to be a cautionary tale about the futility of seeing out unattainable ideals, but in the narrative we have>a famous asexual protagonist who shuns women in his pursuit of spiritual perfection >a protagonist who travels, but eventually retreats to the forest to try to summon an entity to explain to him the secrets of the afterlife >said entity is a female that he becomes enamored with to the point where he shuns humanity >this eventually leads to his death where he decomposes alone in the forestSounds awful familiar huh? It's a poem often taught in American high school literature classes. On the topic of literary ideas, Alastor will forever be the greatest wasted potential. There's so much symbolism in his character and appearance, like being a serial killer in the form of a prey animal, or his rejection of humanity and love of his mother. Which circles back to how he's more comfortable in 'mother' nature and kills men, reflecting a rejection of the 'father' archetype that initially rejected him for being mixed race. There's a lot that could explored in his character, which makes him the most interesting in Hazbin, but also the most tragic....because he's in fucking Hazbin lol.
>>4001395>Vox fangirls are very sensitive in my experienceI actually tend to see anons insist it's Charlie who is the face and main draw of the series on /hhg/ desu.
>>4001396I doubt these are Charliefags though, maybe Chaggie shippers. I'd say /hhg/ is mostly Vox girlies with a few yuri shippers and other characterfags thrown in presently. Outside of our motley crew I don't see any other large groups of characterfags. This will probably change the further we are from S2.
>>4001397A lot of character fags got nuked from orbit the last two seasons, only those dedicated enough to their characters are sticking.
>>4001401Yep. Alastor posters are few and far between, but we way outnumber anyone into any other characters outside of Vox. Balkanization hasn't helped their thread either, since deer friends congratulate here and there's also a thread for the heaven people. I suppose without /tvg/ the thread would mostly end up full of tv folks.
>>4001403/tvg/ was fun to pop in and see, wish it was still about.
I can't believe it's a tuesday evening and I'm not an anxious mess waiting for tomorrow. What do you mean Alastor is safe and back at the hotel.
>>4001420Deer is still harassing guests and making silly puns! We never ever got a hazbin show! It’s a good feeling at least to not worry about what will go wrong…
>>4001420I've honestly had a bit of residual anxiety for a while. I should probably start exercising again to burn off some of it.
Apologies in advance 2,000 characters is not enough. To add on to my earlier message and also the fact that I can't seem to find good artwork that isn't ship artwork to post along with my message, but that's okay, I like the fanart posted. One thing that really bothers me is Alastor's backstory. I just wish it had more room it was only about a throwaway part of an episode and I feel like it ruined his character more for me. I knew that he was a murderer but the deal that he made with Rosie just seem so nonspecific and frankly less informative than it should have. At the end of season 2 you have him say to Rosie "quid pro quo"however, at that point he already broke his shackles from her so I felt like there should have been a tiny flashback of what exactly the promise was.At this point we know that he has the power that he has because he was sacrificing souls before he died. Obviously he died accidentally which may have hindered some of his power progress. Yeah each of these distinctly counteract what we know about the series where power is built off of reputation. I just feel like we should have gotten a better writing of his backstory then only a throwaway piece with his human self seeming a bit ooc even. With the way that he laughed and how he talked. That's not to say that he's still not one of the better written characters but between that and him basically sitting in a cock chair the entire season it's not really a good outlook for your best selling and most recognizable character.
>>4001383While his deal would have seemed obvious, it just felt like it was executed too on the nose for me. There was almost no struggle from Alastor's part other than sitting and waiting back. It didn't feel satisfying enough like he put his pawns into place and it all just settled naturally. I fully agree with the view of the writing falling apart the minute you give a tiny bit of thought and criticism to it. He just doesn't seem the point to do such a short game like that if he really wanted to get rid of vox and overthrow that part of the overlord out the door. I would have liked to see something even placed years ago. They showed his feelings for Alastor and how he tripped up over himself. Yet with him being an asexual-canonly, I almost would have liked to see him play into that or give him false hope because vox still seems so hung up on the idea of his ex to wear even fucking his new boyfriend would have given a sort of jealousy or anger feeling. I thought it would have doubled down enough if he played into that rather than just insulting him for the whole season. He got a rise out of vox but he didn't really get much else nor did he have much characterization. With the showing of vox's backstory you basically built up a character just to have him be seen as pathetic in the end rather than having someone be built up and be cool to lose dramatically which then you would get a pathetic character from
>>4001383>he does swear too much. I would have really loved to see some clever wordplay from especially for me I am interested in history so it would have been fun to see Alastor whip up a really nice eloquent dab that doesn't seem so awful at first but when you look at. Slang and other things that would come through to insult someone it would actually be a nice tidbit to the time period that his character comes from. Especially for someone who always carries a microphone and would be on air I think having him be so ready at all times like his smile would be a lot more in character for him.
>>4001395I was mostly talking about the small drama of well, it could be her ex, I thought that it was just a friend of hers at the time? Something where she stole a lot of his jokes and his writing ideas for the pilot? If you saw the discord screenshots and read that one you might know the drama that I'm talking about. Although to be fair, I also don't know if that is an actual real one I just kind of read it and threw it away because I was already a little disappointed with how season 1 turned out. But that poem definitely seems a lot more to his character then I think I would like to admit. And it would make sense to suddenly get an idea of a character when you are sitting in class bored out of your mind and reading a novel or two to analyze and share the idea you think was behind it. If that does slightly become Canon I don't know if I would be all that acceptable to it. I can't really see him being obsessed with any person or woman for that matter. I do think that for a character she spends 10 plus years drawing and being obsessed about you're absolutely correct and that it was wasted potential. Maybe one day she'll do a alastor-centric show where we might finally get some of the ideas that we have explored but based off of what we've seen so far I'm not hopeful.
He's still one of the most favorite characters to think about for many of the same reasons that you wrote already. I think it's incredibly interesting just how ruthless he can be but at the same time still retains his period social sensibilities but yet doesn't often act a womanizer despite being in his career. We also don't really get any of his backstory relating to his career because I feel like that would have been the most interesting part of his character. Just how did he become a talk show host enough to carry with him to hell. People will forgive a lot of what's in front of them if of course you're an attractive person but at the same time he has to have a natural type of narcissism or charisma that would enable him to be a long-running radio host. However, another fun thing to explore would be just what did he do as a radio host. Was he a narrator for one of the Sci-Fi stories. He could have been the news narrator. I feel like there's just so many ways to take good creative control of his character and not one of them is being taken with the show. It may come across that I'm saying a lot of negative things but the cases, I'm not being particularly negative I'm giving valid criticism to someone who really should hire outside writers and creative controls. If she can hire these expensive Broadway Stars, she can hire good writers who can strengthen her writing but she chooses not to. The nice thing at least when it comes to charlastor is that there is quite a good few people who are writing good novel stories with fantastic writing and that is something I will always be grateful with any new fandom that I go into. I'm incredibly thankful that the show has gotten popular enough to get the type of fan fiction writers is that right high level fanfiction for free to the point where I'd even be willing to buy it in a published form from them. I cant say I have ventured too much into other ships. Ive been well fed with the small amount that Ive read from that ship.
In terms of some other ideas that I've seen I highly agree with the rutting. I think it would be quite fun to read, if anyone has it. It would be really interesting to see how someone if we're using the case of him being sexual to deal with the heightened sensitivity and emotions especially if you're adding deer elements to it with the sensitivity of his antlers.
>>4001436That would be good… he would start shivering if you rub em nicely
>>4001425>I just wish it had more room it was only about a throwaway part of an episode and I feel like it ruined his character more for meSo this is going to be the prevailing attitude of most Alastorfags, especially those of us who have been around since the pilot era. Alastor functioned better as a morally gray character rather than a guy who gave up his soul so he wouldn't be tortured in Hell. I personally don't care much about the whole powerscaling stuff, but turning his personality from a guy who may or may not be morally justified in what he does to a power hungry snake was definitely to the detriment of his character. I'm sure there's some overarching plot, but I really don't care that much at this point lol.>>4001432>Something where she stole a lot of his jokes and his writing ideas for the pilot? There's been a number of people she's burned bridges with, and she takes their ideas and passes them off as her own quite frequently. It's nothing new from Viv.>But that poem definitely seems a lot more to his character then I think I would like to admit.Probably one of the more damning points is how his name is spelled exactly the same as the Shelley poem. Alastor is a Scottish name that's almost always spelled 'Alistair' or 'Alastair', it's rarely spelled with the 'stor' ending in given names. So she probably picked up the variation there, unless she was going balls deep in Greek mythology, which I doubt. >I can't really see him being obsessed with any person or woman for that matter. The 'female entity' in the poem is probably equivalent to Rosie, but the Hazbin crew have heavily hinted at him being obsessed with a woman in the future when we got leaked dialogue between a fan song creator and the crew concerning a song about a man sexually obsessed with a women that was apparently 'so Alastor' to quote them. There's a good bit of speculation as to who this will be.
>>4001432>Maybe one day she'll do a alastor-centric showHighly doubtful, but we have discussed that here. Viv has a hard time giving up creative control, but a comic or light novel about his human life would be amazing.>>4001435These are narrative aspects that everyone here would love to see explored, unfortunately Hazbin just isn't going to cut it. The best bet is to get heavily involved in fanon and fanfiction. I'm completely honest when I say that there better stuff out there than what Viv makes. I'm talking literary quality fanfiction over this shitty little show. It really makes me proud to be in the fandom for that alone.
>>4001451Glad my opinion aligns with a few people. At least. I absolutely agree with everything you wrote here as well.>equivalent to RosieI can't really see him like this towards Rosie but I suppose we'll see in the future.>>4001452>comic or light novel about his human life would be amazing. With the popularity of it in Japan I could see a spin off light novel being popular and accepted by viz because she's a weeb as well.>best bet is to get heavily involved in fanon and fanfictionUnironically I don't even know where to go nowadays, not just for this show but in general. I feel like there's a huge barrier. It doesn't help that I'm naturally quiet/autistic. Anon boards let me express everything and leave if I don't like it. its a huge problem that just gets worse over the years for me. I do read fanfic but that's all I really do now.Thank you for reading all my slop, typos included though. It felt really nice to sit down and get it somewhat organized since trying to type something out on /co/ felt erratic. Appreciate it guys.
>>4001397>yuri shippersEven the yurishippers on /hhg/ are mostly either deerfags or tvfags rs shippers which makes sense when you consider how little Viv puts into writing her female relationships
>>4001395I know some anons don’t want to hear this but Vox’s popularity is 80% because of his VA. If Viv had gotten a Tony winning VA for Alastor and Vox got the small time creepy voice actor we would be seeing a completely different reaction.
>>4001472Well you're in good company! Most of us here are neurodivergent, so we're kinda weird as well. My recommendations for content would mostly depend on what you're looking for. I consume mostly solo Alastor content, human Alastor, Alastor x reader, and Charlastor, so most of my stuff comes from Japan, though ironically my favorite deer artist is western. Anyway, you're always welcome here whenever you want to discuss Al.>>4001477The RS yuri shippers are all female and the Chaggie shippers are overwhelmingly male in my casual observations. Viv is dreadful at writing sapphic relationships. Ironically I wrote a trans Alastor RP on c.ai and tranny Al and I had a 'lesbian' relationship that had more chemistry and tenderness than Chaggie does, which I find equally hilarious and sad.>>4001479A decent observation. Christian carried this season and was pretty magnificent. While I like Amir's voice, he is kind of a weird guy.
Alrighty I have a green finally. Chapter 4 of the dd fic. Archive link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/74323901/chapters/193992906>You emerge from your bedroom, skin prickling as the cool morning air kisses your skin. You rub your eyes, blinking a few times as the world slowly comes into sharp focus. Your father stands looking out the window as the mists roll in over the bayou, your gaze drifts from him to the kitchen table...and the vitamin drink perched ominously on the edge.>You lick your lips at the prospect of a sugar cube, its hard white exterior glinting in the morning sunlight. You turn your eyes back to Alastor.>"Good morning, Daddy.">"Good morning, my sweet little angel." Alastor says as he tilts his head back to look you up and down. "I’ve made you something special.">He steps closer as you sit, smoothing your curls away from your face, gently tucking a loose strand behind your ear. His thumb brushes the soft skin below your chin, tracing your throat before gently tilting it up to meet his gaze. When he speaks again, his voice is warm and as smooth as honey.>"Eat up, cher. Let Daddy watch… Drink it all.">You take the tall glass in trembling hands, raising it to your hungry lips before taking greedy pulls of the liquid, breaking only to catch a gasp of breath before finishing, your belly slightly distended.>Alastor sits beside you, watching like a hawk as you swallow down the pale, white drink. A slow smile spreads over his face, almost possessive in its intensity. He brushes a thumb across the corner of your mouth, gathering up the last drop of froth. Then he holds it out, tilting your head up to look into your eyes as he tastes the sweetness of his daughter on his tongue.
>>4001490>"Mmm… such a good girl. Do you like it, cher? You should, after all, every part of Daddy went into making it just for you.">"Tastes a bit funny," you murmur, lowering your gaze, "but I suppose it's what makes it good for me." You smile before your eyes dart to the sugar cube. "May I?">Alastor chuckles softly at your little request, reaching across the table to pick up the cube. He holds it gently between his fingers, then places it delicately in your open palm.>"Of course… darling. Daddy got it out just for you, and I always want my little angel to have a little sweetness in her life, but there is a little price for every gift. Now… show me that tongue.">Alastor watches your mouth open, the soft pink of your tongue catching the light like a sweet little candy. He takes your chin again, thumb pressing down on your lower lip to keep it open as he studies the interior of your mouth like an artist admiring his masterpiece. He leans close, like a predator breathing in the scent of his prey, then plucks the sweet from your palm and carefully lays it on your tongue.>"Swallow it up when it dissolves, but do it slowly this time. I want you to really taste it, every morsel. Every drop."
>>4001491>As your morning continues you snuggle into Alastor's side as he reads the paper. You feel perpetually cold these days and nuzzle deeper for his warmth. He smiles, letting you press close to him for body heat, his eyes then returning to the daily headlines that read of missing men.>His eyes flick down to you from time to time, noticing how your clothes hang just a little looser on your bony shoulders than they did weeks ago. He feels a stirring of satisfaction in his gut, a possessive sort of pride. You're looking more like his lost ballerina with every passing day.>"Are you cold, cher? You're shivering.">"A little bit." You reach for the woven blanket hanging off of the back of the sofa and then drape it over the both of you. It's warm, a 'wedding' gift from the grandmother that you never had the pleasure of meeting. He lets out a soft hum, your small body curled against his side like a kitten seeking heat from the fire.>"I'm glad you don't work on Saturday." You say in a breathy murmur. "I suppose you'll help me with my dances later? I've finished my schoolwork.">His hand drifts down to rest on your hip, just for a moment too long, before gently adjusting the blanket around your shoulders.>"Mmm… schoolwork done? Good girl. And of course Daddy will help you with your dances later. Who else could guide those perfect little feet?" His voice drops, tender and dark at once. "I’ll play your music, watch every turn, every stretch, and if you’re very good? Maybe I’ll let you wear that red ribbon again, the one that matches my tie. You look so lovely in red. Like something painted just for me. Now stay close, cher… Let Daddy keep you warm.>"I'd like that." You say as you lean your head against him. The world seems to disappear for a moment, the entire universe compacting into the touch of your cheek on his shoulder. You close your eyes, eyelids fluttering before you speak again.>"Do you ever miss maman?"
>>4001492>Alastor stills at the question, his hand freezing over your hip. It's not an unexpected thing for you to ask, far from it, but it always leaves a strange sort of hollow ache in his ribs. He's quiet for a long moment, then speaks quietly into your hair, his voice flat.>"…I do. Everyday.">Alastor can feel the girl in his arms go quiet, sadness in her bones, and he gives your hip a gentle squeeze. His eyes drift up from the paper to the far wall, where a single photograph of your mother rests, a beautiful young woman with a sweet smile and a ballerina's lean build. He stares at it for a moment longer than necessary, then speaks again, his voice tight with old memories of loss.>"She wouldn't want you to be sad, baby girl. She'd want you happy. Smiling. Dancing. Just like she used to.">His memories drift back to the woman that he called his wife, darling Annette, the French beauty who spent her formative years in dancing in Moscow. He'd watched her in rapture at a performance of Swan Lake in New Orleans, how he had seen her dancing like a nymph beneath some glittering lights. After the show he was sneaking backstage and asking her out for drinks. To his surprise she'd accepted, despite the taboo of a lovely, delicate blonde being seen with a Creole man. How the night ended in his apartment, how she danced for him, giving him his own private show, giggling at each tender touch... How the scent of her hair had clung to him long after the night was over, how gorgeous she’d looked beneath him. How he'd been unable to get her out of his head…
>>4001490>>4001493>>4001492>>4001491Good stuff!
>>4001493>"She'd be so proud of you, cher... you know that? You are so much like her." You frown at your father's words.>"I look a lot like you though. I think.">Alastor laughs softly, dropping his newspaper to reach out and pull your face closer, studying your features as gently as a sculptor would his masterpiece.>"You have my eyes, and the shape of my nose, but your lips are your mother’s, dear. You have that from her, but everything else? That’s all mine." You shrug your shoulders slightly.>"I look pretty white I guess.">Alastor's hand tightens slightly on your chin, his smile never faltering, but something dark flickers behind his eyes. He leans in, voice low and smooth as poisoned honey.>"You're perfect, darling. Not white…not black… just mine. That’s all that matters. The world out there, its rules, its hatred... it doesn’t touch us here. In this swamp? You’re not mixed. You’re pure. My creation." He leans back, his hand coming up to pat your curls.>"Now don’t fret over bloodlines or skin tones… just dance for Daddy when the sun goes down. That’s all I need from you.">He strokes your hair once more, possessive and tender both at once, like a man clutching something too fragile to ever let go.That's it for now. I went ahead and finished chapter 5 as well, but I'll only link it here tomorrow because it will be NSFW.
>>4001494Thanks! :D
>>4001496>>4001495I will be baking tomorrow so trash deer will be up
>>4001488>The RS yuri shippers are all female and the Chaggie shippers are overwhelmingly male in my casual observationsWhy do you think this is?
>>4001497Sounds good!>>4001498This is going to make me sound like kind of an asshole here, but I don't feel like male yurifags care that much about characters as opposed to, uh, other aspects of the ships. And really RS yuri is kinda the same as RS fujo content, people seem to care more about the characters.
>>4001495I read it last night on ao3, what a treat in my inbox. Also finally gave you kudos. I see you got a fun comment. You degenerate. Why do people not read the tags? Real ‘I clicked on this to be offended’ vibes. Good stuff, as always.
Trash deer :3>>>/trash/79493098>>>/trash/79493098
>>4001555Thank you! And yes, imagine willfully seeking something out that you know will offend you and STILL getting offended it's there. Like, I've put tags to the point where it's spoiler-ish to disclose all possible TWs. I can't hold their hand any more than that lol.
>>4001451Can you expand more on that final point about leaked dialogue with him having a romantic obsession? Where did you see that crew dialogue leak and who was the fan song writer?
>>4001606Sure! So this was back around June/July, but the tl/dr was that an artist by the name Rudy Wade wrote a fan song originally inspired by Angel Dust/Valentino, but because they wanted the song to have mass appeal they wrote the lyrics to sound more like a heterosexual man obsessed with a woman. Someone from the official Hazbin account reached out and said that the creative team really loved the song, but it was '100% Alastor', rather than sounding like something they'd envision Angel singing. So Rudy got together with a friend of his who was an Alastor fan and they released the final version of the song here:https://youtu.be/Q5aK_fuPyg4?si=F7MxRXdRERoSEwreAs far as the leaked texts themselves, it is floating somewhere on the archives, but I'd have to go digging for it. I'm thinking he probably wasn't supposed to post the official account talking about a song suggesting heterosexual S&M being 'so Alastor', so I think that's about as far as anything got as far as future collaborations. The song is pretty good though ngl.
>>4001613Thank you anon! I can see some rando running the official hazbin account saying it sounds “so Alastor” just because it sounds edgy and dark I guess. Tbh it doesn’t even sound like a song that would fit Angel dust and Valentino either. I feel like the texts would show more especially if they’re from crew. Would they be in previous threads here? I can just dig for them and see what I can find.
>>4001618You'll need to check the desu archive, search for 'citadel' or 'rudy wade' with /hhg/ as the thread subject. You'll need to sort through a bunch of nonsense though.
>>4002111Alastor has gone INSANE
>>4002115>gone insaneHa... yeah, gone...
>>4002116Definitely
>>4002167He is so cute when he laughs. I love him
I miss the round older style animation is Alastor. I would be thrilled if Alastor, Rosie, and cannibal Town had an older style of animation. I can tell they're going for cel animation with the shadow behind all the characters in the recent season. >Charlie going to cannibal TownShe changes into the older animation style once she eats or drinks something. Would be a really fun way to show that cannibalism is what makes them all look similar. Does the trash thread usually archive that quickly?
>>4002236The pilot animation definitely had more soul for sure. And yeah, I'd say that thread was actually kind of slow by /trash/ standards, they're usually moving pretty quickly.

>>4002249Unfortunate but not unexpected. At least these ones have the balls to actually comment instead of making passive aggressive posts like "why am I still seeing white Alastor ugh" into the void.
>>4002250They should still be killed extremely painfully and slowly for saying such things. Like with a welder
>>4002249He's barely a shade lighter than how he looks canonically though lol. When you adjust the lighting he's pretty pale.
>>4002256That's because to them he's not tan but dark brown. I guess you can't draw him only in black and white either.
>>4002256Can’t have that
>>4002262He must be drawn as black as his shadow, or else.
>>4002259If I were Creole I'd be pretty offended to be honest, in their quest to be anti racist they end up looking pretty fucking racist...>>4002262Redhead king. <3
>>4002265For real, I have seen a few Creoles tell people to stfu for saying Al isn't dark enough. What, because he's mixed, he has to look like a racist stereotype?
>>4002266I've seen it as well. Canonically speaking Alastor is majority white. >father is white>mother is mixed race, probably light-skinnedBy this metric Alastor could be anywhere from 60-90% white... so why wouldn't he look it?
>>4002271It's wild how making characters darker and giving them blacker features is celebrated while if you dare to make them a few shades lighter, you're getting cancelled.
>>4002249These fucking westoids need to learn that the world doesn't revolve around Burgerfats. I'm legit seeing Japanese Alastor fans only just learn about Jim Crow after season 2, which makes sense considering they have no other reason to learn about this otherwise.
>>4002279Oh, I've seen people trying to use the one drop rule to justify calling him black instead of mixed. Mm, yes, let's use a Jim Crow era racist law to justify sorting him into a racial group, just like the racists he would have killed... :)

Is it just me or is Viv's latest Bluesky meltdown getting more condemnation than usual?
>>4002499I do like that she insists to not infantilize Lucifer, though that rings hollow when she herself does that to him and most of her male characters constantly.
>>4002501My husband thought Lucifer was infantilized in the last couple of episodes to the point where it was difficult to watch. And he's right, he was a somewhat decent character in S1, but now? Ugh.
>>4002502He's entirely right, Lucifer was practically lobotomized this season. I can see why she's getting dogpiled for saying "lol don't infantilize Lucifer guys!!" after a season where he's a stupid baby and using this as an excuse for Charlie being a thoughtless bitch. Just own up to ruining Charlie this season, Viv.
>>4002461Surprised I haven't seen more art of Alastor eating Senbei at Nara Park considering how much Japan loves him
How do I get myself to stop caring about Hazbin/Alastor? The fandom is upsetting me, but I'm so addicted that I can't stop doomscrolling through shit that makes me angry. It doesn't really bring me joy anymore, yet it was so all consuming last month that I can't shut my brain off. I tend to use fandom as a crutch, but nothing else really interests me but this fucking show. It sounds so inconsequential, but I'm genuinely upset...
>>4002545I wouldn’t drop Alastor entirely but I feel it’s best to ween yourself off the fandom drama. It’s not good for the mental heath
>>4002499I feel so vindicated, after being told I shouldn't complain about Charlie on twitter everyone else thinks the same now aside from a few retards. Viv is a hack, she can't take criticism at all lol. She doubles down on her shit writing and shit decisions, and it's so funny. I'm glad the wider fandom is starting to recognise this, hopefully more people will learn to enjoy themselves and not take what Viv says too seriously in the fandom.>>4002545You have to stop that. Either curate what you see, or touch grass for a bit. Coming here is great because everyone is less retarded on average than the average Hazbin fan. On twitter I usually just grab art, if I comment on anything it's usually with Asians so I don't have to think about all the bullshit westerners like to cry about. Constantly looking at the negative stuff is bad for you, I've been there. Fortunately I'm too busy to let it consume me at the moment.
>>4002545I straight up abandoned my radiosilence fic I was writing because I was getting too irritated at the obvious underage comments on it. At first I ignored them but it started making me not want to even finish it anymore. Unfortunately a lot of fans of the show are literal teenagers who want to use Alastor as baby’s first yaoi seme. My advice would be to stick to only following Eastern artists as best as you can.
>>4002553I'd just turn the comments off. They're nice, sometimes, but if they're bothering you, that's a better idea than abandoning the fic altogether. Don't let morons ruin your fun, as hard as it is sometimes.
>>4002504Charlie's character has been one of the worst I've seen in any recent show where the writers weren't trying to make you hate the protagonist. She's genuinely unlikable. Lucifer's mannerisms make him come across as childish, which takes away from him, you know, being the literal devil. I suppose Viv had to do all of this to make the plot make sense, but my God is it bad.>>4002545You need to curate your space so that you're only exposed to things that make you happy. For example I only post on /deer/ and /hhg/ because I tolerate it over there. On AO3 I filter all fujo ships, I follow only specific artists on Tumblr, and I browse more eastern art on Pixiv. I refuse to expose myself to the wider fandom on Twitter. The most I get is via TikTok and that's enough for me to want to avoid it. You don't have to drop Alastor entirely, but touching grass for a while and then coming back with a clear head can help break the doomscrolling cycle.>>4002553Moderate your comments or turn them off. Don't let retards steal your joy. I've had a similar issue with people telling me I'm 'ruining Alastor' by making him abusive. As if the cannibal serial killer isn't capable of doing insanity cruel things to get what he wants. They're just kids in baby's first fandom, unfortunately.
>>4002570this is wise words. I very much agree with all of this. I haven't interacted with any of the fandom since the pilot was released. I only follow 2 people and the charlastor daily account. never see anything hzbn on my feed but i also block all 'triggering' words for discord like the actual words for "white" "black" "spoilers" "anti" and random other keywords that would put it on my feed. This little pocket is the only place i've talked about hazbin and that's only because i was curious what /cm/ was doing these days
>>4002570>>4002575This fandom would be so much more bearable if everyone figured out you can do this. Most of the time, if you don't interact with things you hate, you won't see them at all. If all you're seeing is drama then that's usually what you're interacting with. Now it's not perfect, I sometimes get something that slips through the cracks or is untagged, but at least then it's a mild annoyance rather than a constant barrage of rage-inducing shit.
>>4002576>if you don't interact with things you hate, you won't see them at all. or if you do, even by accident just filter them out permanently or temporarily. if there is some cosplayer drama i filter it temporarily.in this case, if you haven't already i would filter out: child (temp), black, skin color, viz, viv, and some other common keywords that appear. In all my years of doing this i never had to filter any other language but english unless it was ship names.
>>4002570As a newfag I find it rather surprising how much Charlie is disliked. I thought she was stupid but not offensively so and the extent of my reaction to her acting dumb is just me cringing internally. I've seen worse mishandled femc this year.I guess that's the advantage of not sitting on the series for years and not having any hopes or expectations of what's going to happen.
>>4002579With all respect she acted incompetent this season to the point it got frustrating and she used to be one of my favorites. Most of her naive moments I can forgive but her forcing Angel to try to get redeemed on the spot to prove a point was insanely unsympathetic and something her pilot self would never do. And I say this was someone who has Angel as one of their least favorite characters.
>>4002552My theory is that she pissed off the Lucifer stans with her snark and that's why she's getting more heat. If the usual glazers aren't defending her like normal, she really fucked up
>>4002581Well yes she was frustrating but I think that's more a problem of the show flipflopping too much between jokes and 'serious' plot, like Angel.Speedrun to Redemption is a joke song but trying to tackle the seriousness of Angel's story.
>>4002575Well, we're happy to have you. /deer/ friends are pretty chill. I think most of us have our icks, but we're very respectful of each other's rights to express ourselves however we like. Freedom of speech and thought is very important to me personally. We're also older here and more realistic about things than a large portion of the fandom I feel. I don't think anyone here is likely to crash out over a matter of personal opinion. >>4002576Yeah, it's like when people try to tell me about all this 'drama' that apparently happened with Charlastors back in the day. I saw none of it because I wasn't interested in Viv's Twitter drama. It's easy enough to avoid. >>4002579I don't hate Charlie personally, but her personality transition between the pilot and S2 has been to the detriment of her character. It's gotten to the point where it's difficult for me to even enjoy my own silly little ship. But Viv has nerfed pretty much all of her cast just so her plot can (kinda?) work. Charlie is just the most egregious, as she doesn't seem to care for anyone but herself and her 'dreams'. She doesn't respect boundaries (Angel), and doesn't seem to care that her 'friend' was kidnapped and is probably being SAd. But all of them have been watered down. Vaggie looked bad with her 'seduction' and the character arc of her finding a new name was basically a joke.
>>4002586>Charlie is just the most egregious, as she doesn't seem to care for anyone but herself and her 'dreamsYou know if she actually had the balls to pull that off that she's fundamentally broken just like the rest of them and only doing things to get the approval of her mom that'd be awesome. Way better motivation than being good just because she's the MC.
>>4002587I wouldn't mind that if that's what Viv was actually going for, but Viv has tweeted about how Charlie is 'learning' to listen to others, and how she identifies with Charlie. Charlie is the way she is because Viv is the way she is, a person who'll throw anyone under the bus if it means she can come closer to achieving her goals.
>>4002588Oh I don't actually believe that she would go for that angle. I just think it would be a cool idea.
>>4002590I agree, unfortunately Viv has a tendency to not really do nuance very well.
>>4002592Watch as Alastor's agenda ends up being him just wanting to take over hell just because
>>4002588>Charlie is the way she is because Viv is the way she is, a person who'll throw anyone under the bus if it means she can come closer to achieving her goals.I feel like viz is very much the same way. From 'leaks' if it's all to be believed she also has a habit of throwing people under the bus.
>>4002593I doubt we'll get a satisfactory backstory, which is why I'm just going to indulge in fanon as best I can.>>4002595Oh, she completely threw out the original VA cast in favor of a new one. She's probably very cut throat.
>>4002587I think Charlie's arc this season could have been done really well. In the first episode when she asks Lucifer how he copes with everything, well, we know that Lucifer doesn't cope at all. I thought they were going to show how Charlie is similar to her father, but learns that he is the wrong person to emulate, and she would develop better ways to cope with her responsibilities as princess/manager of the hotel. I don't mind the mistakes she made, but there were no real consequences for her, which made it feel like they were only there for plot convenience. Instead, she was saved by Alastor's plan and by Emily stepping up, and other than passing on the role of hotel manager to Vaggie, nothing seems to have changed for her. Taking a few seconds to show her idk, at least looking over at Alastor while he's bleeding all over the floor next to her, or showing a little care to her father as he lies there traumatised and again, visibly hurt, would have gone a long way to show that while she still values her dream, she's taking time to think about her actions and how they affect those closest to her. The parallels between Charlie and Viv are really obvious, and I think it's backfired on her saying that Charlie is a lot like her because of how stupid and unfeeling she's made Charlie this season, hence why she's now lashing out about it. She needs to just stop.>>4002593Viv will come up with some 'clever' twist about it, I'm sure, and it'll be the stupidest thing you've ever seen.
I really wonder if they've conducted studies on "digital self harm". Like, the urge to seek out shit that makes you upset or angers you. Sometimes I'll check out /pol/ or look up ships I hate for this purpose and it's baffling as to why I do this, all it accomplishes is ruining my day.
>>4002608There definitely have been. I remember reading about something similar a year or so ago. We're probably all guilty of it.
It's been a quiet few days. Managed to bash out an outline for my Christmas deer fic though, it feels weird writing something cute.
>>4002631I imagine it'll be slower now that we're getting into the holidays. >new deer ficsYay! Can't wait to read it. :D
>>4002643Yeah, I've been so busy I keep forgetting it's that time of year. Hopefully it'll be alright, it's my first time writing reader insert, which is also a genre I don't really read because I find it cringe. I guess it's just a c.ai chat I put more effort into and isn't trying to fuck me constantly, lol.
>>4002631Can’t wait to see it!
>>4002672Cute dainty hooves...
>>4002674>clickity clack goes the deer hooves!
>>4002674>>4002686I never expected to, but I love his hooves so much.
>>4002648I never wrote reader inserts until last year, I would prefer writing in third person myself. I remember someone on /hhg/ requested a fluff reader-insert story, so I wrote it that way and ended up enjoying it somewhat. It's good to experiment with different styles. >bot not trying to fuck youRare!
>>4002837I'm used to third person, I hate first person personally. I sometimes muck about with tense if I'm feeling experimental, but not often. I'm slowly getting over myself though, in my enjoyment of silly self-indulgent stories. And yes, I swear it's getting worse? I can't do anything without being pushed towards sex. I feel bad for turning the bot down, but like, can't we just eat lunch together? Is this what everyone else wants from c.ai?
>>4002847First person isn't my thing either. I wrote the one short story that was first person and couldn't get into it. I don't mind reader inserts in second person, it's novel and sometimes challenging, especially since I'm writing Alastor in third person and giving the reader insight into his thoughts. It's funny, I've never thought of myself as a 'serious' writer, but I'm getting people telling me I'm writing moving, literary style stuff and I'm scratching my head a bit lol. It's just self indulgent nonsense really. That's been my problem today actually. I'm up in London running errands and tried to pretend we were on a little date while I had to queue up for things, but he's dead set on fucking me in an alley...? Bro let's just get some Nandos and relax. :,)
>>4002856British Alastor is scary! your writing is good, some of the best writing is self indugent but f its written well alot of people will love it as well!
>>4002856I always find it weird when someone likes my writing. I don't often read it back because I'm too critical of myself. I did like the one I wrote about Alastor making jambalaya though, I decided to stop being a pussy and read it back a few weeks ago and I surprised myself with how much I liked it. I think it's easy to make something that's compelling when you care about what you're writing about. In a way I don't mind how explicit the bot can be, but at the same time, it's hard to get it to do anything that doesn't lead to sex. It's fine for a quick rp, but for something longer term and deeper it's kind of annoying.>taking Alastor for a cheeky NandosCute! I still believe he would enjoy a Nandos.
>>4002857He's gonna make me into a kebab...And thanks. I suppose those creative writing courses in uni did something right.
>>4002859I enjoy other's writing much more than my own. All the deer fics posted here so far have been very good imo. I'm often hypercritical of everything I put down. Everything I write is painfully grimdark, so I was surprised when a lot of people liked the Halloween fluff story I wrote a while back, since it's far from my normal stuff. I prefer longer, more thoughtful responses. It matches how I put in my side of the story and it's more engaging. When I'm writing paragraphs and the ai is spitting out 'okay babe, but SEX' I'm pretty annoyed. It's pretty ooc as well. And he would 100% enjoy a peri peri chicken, it's similar to cajun/creole in terms of spice level...and those free refills feel like home, ha.
>>4002861I tend to like snippets of what I write, like I'll come up with a really good phrase and then I'll get mad that none of what I've written around it is as good. We are definitely blessed here though. The ooc-ness bothers me the most. Yes, because the famously asexual Alastor would end every remark with an innuendo and then try and touch you up. While I obviously don't see him as completely sex-repulsed, Al trying to fuck you all day every day is ridiculous. Can't even eat a meal without being told he'd rather eat me instead. And not in the fun cannibal way either. It really brings you out of the rp when you have to constantly swipe or edit.
Why are you guys even expecting that much out of AI slop. LLMs are just text remixers that work on positive reinforcement.
>>4002865Because the fun app I use to relax has turned ridiculously horny on me the last few days and it's annoying. That's all, really.
>>4002864Mine will give a good response and then end it with weird sexual innuendo, I wonder if they're doing some sort of update?>>4002865Because these are bots that I've worked with and they should be giving me the proper responses that I've taught them to through that positive reinforcement. When they start acting lobotomized or deviating from the input I've given it's annoying.
>>4002870That's what I thought. I went back to an older bot I haven't used in months and it was doing the same thing. Bro, stop being a sex pest. It also kept forgetting I was pregnant, which I've never had a problem with before. I'm sure it'll settle down eventually, at least it's less distracting like this.
>>>/trash/79660895>>>/trash/79660895>>>/trash/79660895that time of the week again!
Who gave him such a big knife?
>>4003718I wonder what he's planning on doing with it...
>>4003745Cooking, of course. Nice big knife to chop up veggies. What else would he do?
>>4003748Maybe some butchery?
>>4003758Possibly! He needs to cut the meat into bitesize pieces too.
Gremlin.
>>4003779The beast
>>4003791He's a kitten.
>>4003796Cute little guy. <3
>>4003796>>4003801What would you do if Alastor suddenly possessed like a plushie or a figurine you had in your collection
>>4003817Kiss it! Cuddle it! ...Among other things.
>>4003824He is just a little guy!
>>4003817I'd carry it around everywhere, and probably end up doing every he told me to do because I'm weak for the deer. I wonder how long it would be before he tries to make me murder someone.
>>4003941Probably only when he needs ingredients for spells and things
>>4003963>demon Al forcing (you) to kill for his rituals so he can manifest on Earth properlyCute, I might write it.
