I don't know what Viv is thinking, but if it was always planned to make RA canon then it makes the forced "enemies to lovers" angle she's going for even more labored. And you can absolutely tell the one between the latter was thought out, considering Vox was initially made to be Alastor's rival and thematically it's more interesting. The reasoning for why Alastor and Lucifer hate each other is also repetitive ("they're too similar and have high egos") since the same reasoning can be applied to Vox and Alastor.I'm rambling, but regardless, this is such a shit decision and I fear greatly for Alastor's character. I love shipping him around in fanon, but that's where all his ships should stay.

Do you care about which one tops or bottoms? For me it’s more about keeping it in character than anything but the only way I see Alastor topping is using it as a means to control Vox rather than being horny himself. Like he knows Vox wants to fuck him but doesn’t want to touch him so he just uses one of his tentacles to penetrate Vox while he reads the newspaper not interested. Normally I prefer Vox topping because it’s easier to keep it in character that way and Vox bottoming to Al only works in very specific scenarios not many can pull off.
