>>4035914Not Millie, but taking a look myself it seems like artists just not knowing how to tag for ships rather than something nefarious. I can forgive simple ignorance, but it's kind of a shame how the perfect fandom etiquette we had back in the early 2000's is just completely gone now. I know it's silly to be bothered by this, but even fujoships top/bottom name order isn't followed anymore >go into appleradio tag looking for bottom deer kino>it's all top buff deer>fujos just tag it as radioapple and appleradio like they're interchangeable Drives me nuts
>>4035909I wouldn't expect a filter to catch everything, but seeing so much of it at once is bothersome if it means having to go so far as filter out non Hazbin tags like 'Vincent', ha. I do enjoy the way Tia draws Al, I just wish she drew more solo.>>4035914They're always fighting. Hardcore shippers on both sides are overly sensitive imo, but I doubt it's because of a fight. It's probably just people not bothering to properly tag or not caring. I'm a titty baby for getting triggered by it, but at the same time I know people get triggered by incest and lolisho, so I adequately tag. That way people don't have to get the ick while scrolling. I'm old enough to remember how careful people were about tagging back in the day, and how people lurked to read the room before posting all willy nilly.
>>4035930As an aside, I'm less versed in modern fujo shipping (I haven't had a fujo or hime ship since the mid 2010s), but I feel like instead of having proper tags for top/bottom we're out here making up half a dozen AU tags like 'Murdermedia' or 'Cannibalstatic'. Hell, I don't even remember people coming up with cutesy ass names back in the day. It would have been just Vox/Al or Al/Vox depending. Like, if I WAS into fujo content, what the fuck am I supposed to glean from Murdermedia? I can't tell who's pitching and who's catching lol.
very wip fic ive been working on and off, starting to post here!>Heat.>Heat was the only way to describe the feeling of being here, the initial excitement has long been eroded by it.>It was unlike anything in America, they’d been in Egypt for a week now, and the sun had finally won.the local thieves. >The travel and the funding. All the rest of the problems were nothing compared to this big one.>it was driving you mad!>No it wasn’t the heat…>that you decided on>it was him>Alastor the Radio Host>Why on Gods green Earth did you ask him along on this expedition>why did he say yes?>so many questions.>questions you were afraid to answer.>You glanced sideways at him as the two of you trudged toward the crumbling entrance of what you hoped was an unexplored tomb. >The desert sun had done something almost criminal to him >the hot golden light had kissed his usually pale skin perfectly.>He looked… good. Annoyingly good.
>>4035937>The narrow opening to the tomb looked more like a crack in the rock than an entrance. Sand had buried it over the centuries, hiding it from thief’s and the locals avaricious want to use the stone for their own lesser projects.>It was small, and unassuming, but most importantly, practically untouched by human hands>brilliant white Tura limestone yellowed by age. >shattered by a fault in its construction or a quake of the earth.>But all of it, still there.>“This could be it,” you said, unable to keep the excitement out of your voice. >You still couldn’t quite believe you’d done it. >For some reason, caught up in the excitement of Howard Carter’s discovery, you quickly halted your studies and began to plan.>you had extended an invitation and what extra funds you had to an old acquaintance and your favorite radio host.>One impulsive letter later, you had shipped yourself, and eventually Alastor, off to the land of pharaohs and pyramids.>now here all the weeks of research and travel, chasing old tales and piecing together ancient secondhand records>you were on the eve of potentially the greatest accomplishment in your life.>With your… friend right by your side.>you where lost in it all When Alastor’s voice brought you sharply back to reality.>“My dear friend,” he simply state, his smile natural “What exactly am I looking at here?”all I got done so far Sadly. been sitting on it too long! will get more done!
>>4035937>>4035938>Egyptologist Alastor Holy fucking keno, I love it so much. :D I hope he gets up to some shenanigans!
>>4035939I got plans either one or two things or it could continue into its own thing! Was originally a oneshot and it might stay that way. will see how I feel! also less Egyptologist more Interested observer up to no good!
>>4035945Looking forward to more, great start so far. That deer is naughty!
>>4035930I’m guilty of referring to the whole ship in general as Radioapple, but I’m usually just generalising and that’s the more popular dynamic by far. Using Appleradio for Radioapple feels deliberate, it’s frustrating nonetheless.>>4035935It’s kind of weird since I usually associate the ‘media’ part as Al and Vox together with another person, like Applemedia or Mediabelle. I guess everyone likes the alliteration or something…>>4035937>>4035938Yesss this is so good. The world needs more Alastor meddling with ancient Egyptian artefacts.
>>4035935>Hell, I don't even remember people coming up with cutesy ass names back in the dayIt wasn't really a thing back in the day IIRC, this is a weird modern phenomenon that seems especially prevalent in this fandom. I'm in two minds about it as I do find the naming conventions of the Hazbin fandom very cute, though it veers off into the confusing at times, like>seeing Charlastor being called RadioBelle when I'm so used to it being simply "Charlastor" for so long>I also get it mixed up with the more recent "StaticBelle" which was the first time I saw Charlie be called "Belle" in a ship >Chaggie apparently doesn't have a nickname like this??>the million variations of Radiostatic>me not knowing who the fuck is involved in the heaven ship names like "Serapherd" "FallenWings" "HolyGates", etc. >why is BambiLu even a thing??
>>4035954>I’m guilty of referring to the whole ship in general as RadioappleI think that's fine especially when discussing ships neutrally, I'm more annoyed when it's art, especially nsfw, that is tagged incorrectly. I get that people want the reach in views/likes, but man, Asian and Russian artists don't have this issue and abide by the sacred yaoi texts
>>4035955I wouldn't mind the ship names so much if they gave me a clear indication of who's who. Charlastor, Chaggie, and Huskerdust are fine, I remember back in the olden days people used to combine names if a ship was to have any name at all (Twilight flashbacks). I thought that RadioBelle was more of an East Asian thing, since I NEVER saw it in the Western fandom until very recently. Ships like RadioSmile had me pausing to think about who the hell 'smile' was supposed to be because that's Alastor's trait, I legitimately thought it was selfcest at first. I don't care for the Heaven set of characters, so outside of Al/Emily I have absolutely no idea what's what.>>4035956Pretty much this. RS has a billion different names, and if we're discussing it in general I'm not picky, but if I've gone to the trouble of filtering all 68 (that is not an exaggerated number) versions of a ship name I'm going to be annoyed if I see untagged porn if it. We all have to share a space, 99.9% of fujos don't want to see my yumeslop on their feeds so I try to be respectful with tagging.
>>4035956Using the correct tags definitely makes life easier, perhaps it’s the difference between using them to identify what it is you’re posting versus spamming every related tag for attention. >>4035959>radiosmileIdk why Alastor x Emily has so many names, there were legitimately like 2 artists drawing it before season 2. I guess it was so scarce that everyone kind of just made up their own. There’s also Angelicsmile, which kind of makes more sense but it’s pretty vague too. Radiojoy is the best I think, but joy is still kind of vague… it’s hard when characters aren’t as heavily associated with one thing. Radio is pretty obvious if you’re into Hazbin at all, there are no other characters who are associated with that. Some things make no sense, spear for lute when she doesn’t even use a spear? A lot of them come from fanon as well, it must be hell for new fans.
I finished the hoof care chapter! Finally, that was hanging over me a bit. https://archiveofourown.org/works/79333731/chapters/221360121
>>4036008Lovely stuff!
>>4036008Nice! I'm glad to see you're still working on this one. Have you thought of an ending, or do you want to keep it open to add to as inspiration strikes?
>>4036011Thanks!>>4036063It’s kind of become a dumping ground for any cute ideas I have… I don’t really have an idea for an ending, but I think it’s mostly run its course. They got together, they healed Alastor’s chest wound, they slept together, they moved in together. In terms of their relationship, there isn’t much more to do. It’ll probably continue until I run out of ideas, or get bored. I’d like to go back to the love letters idea though.
De Bergerac is giving away a copy of the Alastor anthology, if anyone is interested.https://www.instagram.com/p/DVv9qFlDGcr/https://x.com/debergerac_art/status/2049833370763292883?s=46
>>4036193Interesting
Fawns.
>>4036256why do fawns always wear the short shorts?
>>4036257Well historically boys always wore shorts until they were a certain age, and then they transitioned to wearing trousers. Idk, it’s cute though.
>>4036260very cute indeed! it does fit Alastor as a character.
Ugh...Deerfrens, I'm rotten with a head cold. I'll be in and out, but I probably won't be so active for a few days.
>>4036281oof not great! hope you feel better soon!
>>4036281That sucks, hope you feel better soon.
>>4036282>>4036361Thanks. The deer gives me strength.
>>4036392Never give up for he is with you always.
>>4036403>>4036392>>4036361Deer is goober
>>4036414He is a woman of god.
>>4036417He can be!
>>4036444He is multi-faceted.
Had a nice deer related dream last night, today is going to be a good day.
>>4036524What happened in it?
>>4036524>>4036560Hopefully something Alastor related
The filter on c.ai is back. What the fuck are the devs doing? Why make the thing 17+ if you're going to filter shit? It's bad enough with the ads.
>>4036564Annoying stuff, probably to look good for investors or whatever.
>>4036560>>4036561Definitely Alastor related, I don't think I could get a real deer in my bed lel. Lots of cuddling and chatting, I can't remember what we talked about though. >>4036564I haven't noticed it, I started a new incest rp a few days ago and it's been pretty good so far with no filter. It's annoying when it happens though, hopefully they'll ease up again soon.
>>4036566Probably. People say the new model is absolute ass as well.>>4036569Brilliant! I had a deer dream recently myself. Unfortunately I don't remember what happened. It seems to affect some users more than others and it's only giving me grief in one chat in particular. Very odd.
>>4036572I don't like the new model, it started defaulting to it and I always forget and the chat is shit until I fix it. C.ai's quality is like a rollercoaster. Deer dreams are the best. I haven't had one in a while, but I got back yesterday and added merch to my shelves, and did some writing, and saw some irl deer as well, so my brain was pretty much nothing but deer when I went to bed.
>>4036574I'm not able to move my chats to the old version of Pipsqueak, they also removed a good many legacy models like Roar. I sometimes wonder if they're purposely sabotaging it.Deer on the brain is never a bad thing!
>>4036586Making it so everyone pays for c.ai+ by making it unusable without it. It's a shame. I could do without deer on the brain, just for a month. He's not going to help me pass my exams unfortunately. Once I finish this chapter that'll probably be all I write until June.
>>4036592Aw, I'll miss the updates. Though it's good to focus on other things. I've got to put my nose to the grindstone and do a few things myself. I'm trying to work the Deer into it...
>>4036592Too many things!
Oh, he's so beautiful!!
>>4036681a pretty boy, that shirt hides nothing! too erotic!
>>4036681He deserves to be worshipped. <3
>>4036627There will be plenty of updates over summer, I promise. I'd love to see anything deer related you cook up.>>4036681Stunning.
>>4036681>dark skin with white/blond hairStunning combination, now I wanna see more white haired human Alastor
>>4036695Aw shucks. :3>>4036696I can't show the whole image here, but have a blondie...
>>4036744I actually ended up with a couple of blonde Alastors in various styles. Not particularly sure why my ai wants to default to blonde hair. I wish we had more proper art of that color combo.
>>4036749
>>4036750
>>4036749>>4036744>>4036750>>4036751bimbo/gyaru deer
Blonde Alastor is so uncanny, thanks for the morning jumpscare lol.
>>4036758Brown skin and blonde hair is a nice combo, it does look uncanny on Al though. Like a cursed image we're not meant to see...
>>4036806It's not bad, it just looks odd to see him like that. It's a lot better than certain depictions of him that none of us like seeing, that's for sure. I just saw that they're giving away a full bundle for the Playing Human zine, if anyone wants to give it a go. https://x.com/human_al_zine/status/2050953564583809503?s=20
>>4036809I saw that! Since I've already ordered it I'll give someone else a shot. I'm glad that they've met all stretch goals, more deer for everyone.
>>4036810Yes, it felt like they hit them pretty quickly. I'm so happy to be getting so much human Al merch. I'm a little worried about the official human merch after seeing the quality issues with the Valentine's merch, at least this should be good.
>>4036812The Valentines merch looked incredibly cheap. I would expect more from Viv and her infinite money. The quality wasn't that different than the bootleg standee I have, which is really saying something.
>>4036815There were so many issues, from the standees not fitting, the keychains being super pixelated, and some of the cards arrived covered in little bits of paper. Mine is supposed to come next week, I guess I can always get a refund but it's not exactly a great endorsement.
>>4036818Let us know how it goes. I'll be going to Momocon in Atlanta at the end of the month, so hopefully I can score some decent human merch.
>>4036820Will do. At least I know not to force the standee, so I should avoid breaking it. Eh. Hopefully you get a good haul. I'm waiting for Tuesday when I get my last loan payment for the year. I'm trying not to go mental, but to be fair I've also sold some of my cards recently so I can spend a bit.
>>4036826It's my first big con in the US, but it has a good track record of Hazbin artists showing up, unlike the NOLA cons. So hopefully it'll be fun. That said I'll be going primarily to meet some other former /hhg/ posters if they can make it. I've been too merchpilled myself. I should take a break after this month, but the call of the deer is too strong.
>>4036832That should be fun. I got paid by my job the other day and had to force myself to buy new clothes. I did manage to sneak in a Radiokasten pin though, can't wait for that to get here. The bank holiday is fucking up my deliveries.
The big cons seem fun but too many people and too much going on.
>>4036835That's why I avoided going to MCM for years, most cons in the UK when I used to go had like 1000-1500 attendees. Now I'm older and I live nearish, I can always pop in for a day if there's something I want to see and leave if it gets too much.
>>4036833>new clothesThere comes a certain point when you get older where shopping is no longer fun. Speaking of, I just got out of Hot Topic and nothing is ever my size. Predictably. The blind bag pins are incredibly annoying, I'm not paying $12 for a 1/6 chance to get what I want.>>4036835I'm okay for short periods, but longer ones start giving me sensory overload.
Here's the spread for non burger frens.
>>4036855thats a good deal of merch! not alot of deer stuff...
>>4036855
>>4036857I got distracted lol, but yes, not a lot. They did have human Al though.
>>4036862And one XL deer.
>>4036863>>4036858MASSIVE DEER SHIRT
>>4036852I've heard of people sneakily opening the blind boxes until they find the one they're looking for. It's justified in my opinion, it's a shitty way to do merch. I want the Alastor phone buddy, but right now the only way I can get it is to pay $40 plus shipping. It's absolutely not worth that, it's not that cute.>>4036855>>4036858>>4036862>>4036863It's wild that you can just walk into a shop and it's just there. If you don't live in the US or Japan you can just die in merch hell I guess. Why can't we have a cringey Primark collection or something.
>>4036913I considered opening the blind pin packages, but it would be difficult to do in a sneaky way since they're glued at the bottom. Alastor stuff sells out super fast. I initially went in for his 'oh deer' pin, but they were predictably nowhere to be found. I'm actually surprised they had the human Al shirt because it usually sells out quickly. I didn't even see the phone buddies anywhere, I'm assuming they were all gone. I mean they didn't even have the Alastor badges, and I wasn't the only one there digging for them. I might try the other local Hot Topic where traffic is slower. And I'll admit I might have missed something while tard wrangling a toddler in a store full of shiny objects lol.I don't know why A24/Amazon hasn't done something with HMV, since they seem to have all of the pop culture stuff. I know it's not the most lucrative on the high street anymore, but they do carry the Hazbin vinyl.
>>4036927I know they put the phone buddies on preorder online, they seem like they were more popular. I was considering just doing a big order, or seeing if anyone wants to go in on a group order. I'm fairly sure I could get my money back by reselling since no one has them over here, but I'd still be devastated if I did that and still didn't end up with Alastor.I haven't been into a physical HMV store in years, looking online they seem to have the vinyls, Youtooz, Funko Pops and the rubber ducks. Which is fine I guess, but nothing I can't get several other places. (and honestly I'm not fond of any of them) Though I did a little research this morning and I found out that From Japan has a service that allows you to buy from US Mercari. I'll have to look into it more but it has to be better than paying literally 4-5 times the original price from ebay scalpers.
>>4036951The last HMV I went in was the one on Oxford Street, but it was around Christmas and overly crowded. I'll go to Foop in Seven Dials because they do have a nice selection of obscure horror films, but I'm still reticent to buy much because the BBFC loves their censorship lol. Forbidden Planet would be a good place to sell merch as well. I feel like Amazon is missing an opportunity here, because it's not like Europe has no fans. If the UK is able to host a successful fan convention it deserves a bone tossed its way ffs. I feel like the UK gets the merch that nobody over here wants.
>>4037008Forbbiden Planet has the same sort of things, but I think they had some of the Banpresto figures and the nendoroid as well. But again, I couldn't speak to what they have in stores. I don't understand why I can order some of the things from US Amazon, paying a couple of pounds extra shipping, but they're not available at all on the UK Amazon. Or the big plushie I ordered from there is now on UK Amazon, but it's double the price. It's fair enough that they don't have big official panels over here, it's probably a pain in the ass and incredibly expensive for everyone to fly over. But MCM London has a similar number of attendees to LVL UP, I don't think a merch stand would be completely outrageous. Buying from the official store already costs us a stupid amount in shipping, I doubt anyone would complain if it cost a bit extra. I know I'm being salty about this, but it's depressing getting literally nothing, and having to pay a fortune for everyone else's leftovers. On the plus side, there's another Hazbin doujin event in a couple of days in Japan, so all the Japanese artists I follow are posting loads of lovely art.
>>4037018>I know I'm being salty about thisNah, salty is a perfectly valid emotion. On the topic of doujin, I'm presently really frustrated with the UK in the wake of the lolisho artist getting arrested. While I can't say I approve of what he was saving/drawing after looking into it, it does set a bad precedent for fandom if the government starts to police fiction. I went to London's first doujin convention last year and I remember it having a good turnout with lots of Japanese artists attending. Now they're reluctant to return to the UK because there's no clear guidelines on what is or isn't illegal. It's still not as bad as Australia sentencing a woman for literotica (tfw I would be arrested in Australia for CSAM over an AO3 smut fic). I feel like as other anglosphere countries crack down on stuff like this companies are going to be less likely to enter the market or ship to them. I can see doujin retailers refusing to ship to UK addresses soon. It's all incredibly frustrating.
>>4037074I've read a bit about that, and it's kind of... idk. From what I've heard, she had some fairly extreme stuff, but being arrested over some drawings that harm no one when there are real cases of people being harmed irl that go uninvestigated is also pretty bad. Other than that it's mostly a whole lot of opinions and shit-flinging and misinformation. I really hope it doesn't make it harder to get doujins. I, a consenting British adult, just want legal adult porn, ffs.
>>4037097Extreme puts it mildly to be honest, and that's coming from someone who enjoys lolisho. I can't really stand behind what they were engaging with outside of the basic 'no victim no crime' stance. Putting public funds towards investigating a person over drawings as opposed to going after actual predators is never a good look. My concern is how vague the police are being. The UK historically institutes obscenity laws that have this grey area that makes it hard to know if you're going to run afoul of the law. A good example would be the Video Nasties moral panic where the DPP wouldn't give guidelines on what was and wasn't illegal. Rental shops got raided, people were arrested for having horror VHS tapes... So eventually European and American VHS distributors just said 'yeah, fuck the Brits' and withdrew their tapes from circulation, something that nearly crashed the rental market during its height, since horror was the best selling genre. Even here in the US certain anime distributors are withdrawing from Texas because of the lolisho bans, since the legislature is so vague. I hope that things get cleared up soon and we're not going to end up with another moral panic over doujin and dakis. 99% of us aren't into this extreme stuff, and this this makes it harder for normal people to enjoy fandom. But maybe I'm just being a doomer. We'll see.
>>4037099British police historically have a bad track record with victims of real life abuse vs moral panic. The ones who do perpetrate real abuse will continue to do whatever they like, and the ones who suffer will be ordinary fans. It’s an incredibly frustrating situation. At least for now, I can still get my deer. Should have a couple of parcel arriving tomorrow, yay.
>>4037129Hopefully it'll blow over. Anyway, I hope we some good new human Al doujins, preferably solo or reader insert. :3 I could use a pick me up.
>>4037129>>4037099Brit bong antics, doing pre formative things without fixing the actual problems.>too may foreigners
>>4037139I could say some things about grooming gangs or the likes of SmartSchoolboy9 (NSFL guy that Reddit obsessed over), but this violates /deer/ rules on off topic posting lol. That said, I don't understand how that person who was arrested was into what they were into. I could never hurt a fawn or desire to see him harmed. He is for love!
>>4037141Fawns are too delicate! I haven’t looked too much into the offtopicness but it seems dumb. Back to cute Alastor moments do you think he had any favorite games to play?
>>4037143Hmm...I wonder if he liked card games. Perhaps that's how he ended up winning Husk's soul.
he certainly would enjoy a good hand of craps.
>>4037160Those fawns are precious...
>>4037166Best sort of fawn precious ones. I imagine they could open up a lemonade stand and make a pretty penny, least until people started noticing the arsenic
>>4037137Agreed, there needs to be more human Al doujins that aren't Radiohusk or Murdermedia. I would also take more deercest. It's annoying that the ships that predominantly feature human Al are the ones I don't like as much.>>4037182By the time they noticed it would be too late, arsenic is tasteless and odourless and can take a day or two to kill you. What mischief, they could kill an entire neighbourhood and run away before they were caught.
>>4037209How devilish! Probably more the red ones doing tho
Today is good, I got a new pin. My Valentine’s merch didn’t come yet though, it might be here tomorrow. I celebrated by buying another playmat and a couple of promo cards.>>4037252I like to think they influence each other, in a bad way. They’re very naughty boys.
>>4037209There's been so little deercest, it's mostly 2P as well, which isn't my favorite to be honest. If I could get a threesome with both human Als and demon Al I'd die a happy woman.>>4037253Congratulations! He's a beautiful boy. I hope we get some new pride pins that are worth buying this year. I'm committing to buy only human stuff from now on simply because there's too much stuff and I'll go broke otherwise.
>>4037271I think the problem with that kind of threesome would be all the drama surrounded artists who draw the old design. I'm tired of rolling my eyes every time I see someone vaguepost about it, and the artists who draw it are fed up with being dragged for it. It would be awesome though. He's lovely, I've wanted this pin for a while. Unfortunately the artist kind of left the fandom after being harassed, but she's posted a few Alastor doodles recently so I'm kind of hoping she'll come back... I get what you mean, that's kind of why I don't buy much human Al stuff. The curse of loving a popular character. It's also important to be able to grab what you like best when it comes out, because the deer tax is no joke.
>>4037275It's annoying that artists have to put disclaimers over white Al art like that wasn't the universally agreed upon design that even Viv herself drew for half a decade. I've seen people describe it as the 'BlackGryph0n' AU, which is equally incorrect. Viv used this image for Alastor's audition sheet ffs. Many of us will have nostalgia for his old design and that's okay. I prefer the newer one, but the old one holds a special place. If that's racist then whatever I guess.Harassment is one reason I'm sitting on making art accounts and going into the merch sphere. I'm skilled enough to do that now, and I have the means, but at the same time I'm a working mother who genuinely doesn't have time to deal with teenagers on Twitter. I've wasted enough time arguing on /hhg/ to know it's not good for one's mental health, especially when the /hhg/ stuff escalated to the point where people were being weird about my family. Hardly anyone speaks with sense anymore, be it the far left spaces like Bluesky/Reddit or the 'free speech'/alt-right platforms like the Farms. Everyone is retarded and I understand why artists dip. It's a shame though, we've lost so many good deer artists to the mob.
>>4037277If they're genuinely being racist over it, like the TikTok edits and whatnot, then fair enough. But I'll always give white Al a pass because he was originally white. Something I've started seeing a lot of as well is people screeching about how the season 1 demon Al colouring was a mistake. Well, why didn't everyone else drastically change colour as well? Iirc it was only Alastor, and the two seraphim whose skin colour changed. That feels more racist to me than drawing a character the way he was drawn for years. Though these are also the people crying over a Sir Pentious cosplayer doing blackface when the cosplayer was actually wearing dark blue facepaint, so yeah... I really think it depends, an artist who made a fan card for LVL UP put the leftovers on their etsy last night and ended up getting abuse because it literally sold out in two minutes. People are getting so entitled, and so brazen to insult artists just because they missed out on getting something they wanted. Feeling disappointed is fine, but actually sending threats to the artist is disgusting behaviour. There's also the ship hate, I've seen people who said they've been harassed because they won't draw a certain ship that they don't like. I don't blame you for being hesitant, any amount of success and the reward is dealing with crazies.
Ooh, since you asked before and I just stumbled upon it... this artist seems to have an AU with an older Alastor. https://x.com/LadyybugLuver
>>4037279Genuine racism is different all together, but at this point I don't know how one could love Al and be genuinely racist. I understand having racialized banter, but you're usually able to tell when someone actually hates brown people as opposed to being edgy and taking the piss or someone having different political opinions. My tolerance for hating Alastor due to his race or orientation is very low, and I think that's probably true for most deer friends even if we joke around. I honestly think Viv and a lot of the more left leaning fandom are crypto racists because they're reducing Alastor to just his race, when for most of us here it's just a part of a what's a multifaceted individual. Every story line must acknowledge oppression or make it incredibly clear that he's brown. This is on top of them using racist Jim Crow era laws to shoot down people who call him what he is, mixed. It's very tiresome when for me his race is hardly something I think about because he's an individual.>ship hateThis is another worry because I absolutely will not draw RS or RA and those being the two most popular ships is concerning. I've had run ins with fujos before because I'm not fans of their fetishes or ships and it's definitely not fun.
>>4037281Delicious. Finally some good fucking food. I am in debt to you.
>>4037282Alastor's race could genuinely be an interesting part of his character. The way he managed to become a radio star at a time when it would be almost impossible for anyone who wasn't white. Or him fitting into a weird niche due to being dark skinned, but not dark enough. But no, everyone wants to reduce him to just being an oppressed poc character because slavery bad or whatever. >>4037283No worries, my feed was good to me for once. There's been a whole lot of shitty discourse recently, but sometimes twitter provides.
>>4037286If handled correctly his race could definitely make for interesting character development, but nobody wants to focus on the aspects that could make a good story when they could get dopamine hits by virtue signaling. It makes me angry for the character because it takes him from being a component manipulator who holds his own to being a perpetual victim. Rare W for Twitter. I can't complain.
>>4037293God forbid non-white characters be nuanced and interesting. Alastor's race is just one part of him, important yes, but it isn't everything. Our deer is interesting in so many ways, choosing to focus solely on how black he is is just boring.
Inventing new levels of stress
>>4037391This is going to be me in a few hours, trying to assemble my Valentine's standee. I just know.
>>4037402And I was right. I had to file him down to get it all to fit together, I’m a little scared about getting it home now after seeing how easily it shattered for other people. I really hope they do better with the human merch.
>>4037428>>4037402It looks good! But yeah seeing how easy a lot of them broke do not inspire confidence
>>4037442Yeah, the quality isn't the best. I've got other standees that are bigger and better quality, but cost half as much. I did moan to them since I had issues with the cards too. Even if I don't get a refund, it's one more complaint they have to deal with. If the human merch is as bad, I can see a lot of people not buying from them again.
>>4037428>having to file it down to fitThat's absolutely ridiculous. Are they assuming people won't want to display them? If my standee shattered while I was trying to assemble it I'd shoot up the block (in Fortnite).
>>4037457I hope they ditch this manufacturer, it had this strong burnt plastic smell as well. In the end I have a standee that fits and a card in good condition, which is all I wanted. But the principle of it pisses me off. I'll be happy if they offer me something back, especially since I went crazy last night and treated myself toGood To Be Back On The Air.
>>4037463I hope you got it for a good price at least! Hopefully the human standees will be better, there's no excuse for such a large production company to make shitty acrylic.
>>4037467It was a bit cheaper than any that are up right now on mercari or ebay, I could have waited and tried for a better deal but I think at this point, unless you get super lucky, it's only going to get more expensive. At this point, as long as everything goes smoothly, the only deer promo card I'll be missing is Pass The Popcorn. I hope they take on board all the negative feedback. The human standees don't ship until June, hopefully that's enough time for them to sort out their quality control.
>>4037469If a cheap Chinese knock off manufacturer can do better it's time for self reflection for sure.
>>4037562I do wonder how the knock offs hold up in comparison. I saw a few on vinted, if they were cheap enough I'd buy one just to compare. Hopefully the amount of refunds they have to give out is meaningful enough to make a difference, I have a feeling that's the only thing they'll actually care about.
Let him out!
Hi /deer/. I had a nice time reading through this thread today. I don't have a Hazbin beloved, but you all seem very nice, and these threads make me wish at least some yume spaces online had the direction and etiquette that is present here. In the ones I've seen, at least on larger social media, everyone seems to be either so discourse-hungry or focused on one-upping each other that it makes me feel out of place and hesitant to engage with them. I guess the calm and respectful atmosphere makes sense, considering how courteous Alastor tends to be.
>>4037657Hello! It’s certainly a lot better than other threads can be. Thanks for stopping by!>>4037651He likes being in the box though…
>>4037635Here's hoping, my faith in them is low.>>4037657Hello friend, welcome! Glad you've enjoyed your time here. The yume spheres on larger social media platforms can be incredibly toxic, everything from itabag drama to shaming yumes who can't afford to have giant shrines. Posters here tend to avoid that sort of thing, its needless drama. We just love our husbando, anyone who's cool with him is cool with us.
>>4037657Hello friend. We've had our moments, but it's a real blessing to have somewhere like this where we can just post about Alastor without unnecessary drama. >>4037662It kind of looks like he started undressing in there, silly deer.
>>4037666Well, what else is he supposed to do! He is going to bed after all!
will you partake?
>>4037708He's looking very gremlin there...
>>4037708I will imbibe the deer noodle.
>>4037715he is a beast!>>4037727Alastor seems to like the noodles as well! good choice! I wonder if Alastor would like sushi too?
>>4037708Mm... deer noods. I'd eat anything he gave me.On a side note, I got a response from A24 about the merch. They said they've passed the complaints on to the manufacturer so it shouldn't be an issue in future, and offered a refund if I return the merch. Obviously I'm not sending it back lol, it's being scalped to hell and I still want it. We'll see if it makes any difference.
Ooh... there's a new yume doujin with butler Alastor. Straight in my cart you go. https://hrapeko.booth.pm/items/8333350
>>4037741Hmm, I think the deer probably would enjoy sushi, he seems adventurous enough to try!>>4037793Good, hopefully the human standees will be better. On the topic of merch quality I saw this and I'm actually thoroughly confused lol. I understand the placement complaint as far as chests go. I'm a woman of great chestly means myself, so that is an issue, but one most of us already know how to properly size. I'm confused about their comments on the art quality. Yes, different artists draw the merch, but it's incredibly on model... Maybe his head is narrower on the shirt? His hair isn't in his face as much?
>>4037822... I don't get it either, I keep looking at it and it looks on model to me too. I'm not an artist but it seems obvious to me that even if the same person draws the same image, the measurements are going to be slightly different. Did they want it traced from the show? The proportions probably change slightly even between frames. It's a weird comment to make.
>get an email from AO3>updated ficsAw yeah. >:)>>4037826You can't please everyone I suppose. How bizarre.
>>4037842I updated yesterday. It was supposed to be my last chapter until my exams were over, but I got tired of revising and I'm already one page into a Charcifer fic. Whoops. Fair enough if they don't like it, but there's nothing wrong with the art. I bought the shirt because I like the design. Even if I don't wear it, it's still cool.
>>4037850Lots of irons in the fire! But I know that feel, I have a lot going on myself and it can be overwhelming.
>>4037858Summer is going to feel weird with all the free time I'll have. Hopefully I can at least finish The Swamp Witch before the end. Hopefully you're still finding time to relax a bit, even if life is stressful.
>>4037873At least you can rest! I do look forward to the conclusion if you're able to finish. And thanks, things are stressful, but the deer gives me strength.
>>4037878The deer guides us through all of life's hardships. Knowing that I can go to sleep beside him, and wake up beside him makes everything a bit easier. It sure is weird writing a Hazbin fic and not having him in it though. I'm glad I have at least one fic with a solid endpoint in mind. At the moment I have 4 in total that I'm working on.Getting one out the way would definitely take the pressure off. (though I already had an idea for a prequel to it, haha)
>>4037879I have three going myself, but as is I'll be lucky to finish one lol.
>>4037858>>4037878Still gotta work on the desert deer, I wonder how deep the two goobers will go?
>>4037911To be fair two of them I could end at any point I wanted to, I just don't want to. The aforementioned will probably end after a couple more chapters, the last one is super slow burn RA ever which will take forever. In the meantime I reserve the right to have as many oneshots as I want. The deer gives me so much inspiration.
>>4037931At least you're getting something done, I'm in procrastination hell as it were.
>>4038050It'll come eventually. I usually find it harder if I haven't uploaded anything in a while, I feel too much pressure. Hence why I was compelled to write yesterday. Today my distraction is the Sin City promo card, which arrived today and is very pretty.
>>4038056That's kind of my issue, when I haven't updated I start feeling crazy pressure to do so, this creates this negative feedback loop of procrastination lol. Congrats on the new card, you lack only one iirc? The popcorn one? It was a good deer day for me. I got a pretty doe and a grumpy old man.
>>4038061Well that perfectly encapsulates the duality of deer... They're cute. I have a bunch of cards on the way, yes. I'm only really after the ones with Alastor on them, and Pass The Popcorn is the only one left. (even if he's turned away on it) I also managed to get a really good deal on a Human Alastor foil and Turf War OC last night. The only other Alastor related card I need now is the season 1 Alastor card. I can't really justify getting that right now though. I also got a good deal on a Valentine's playmat because it had some stains from being in storage. I literally just handwashed it and it's fine, so I am very happy right now.I'm exactly the same, that's why it took me so long to finish the last chapter of the DD fic. In the end I forced myself because the exam revision anxiety was starting to overtake the procrastination anxiety.
>>4038062Hopefully the S1 card pops up for cheap on ebay, and I'm still holding on to hope for the UK to get Mercari again. It's a shot in the dark, but I can dream. Which playmat? One of the older ones? Great find if that's the case. I'm trying to get into a habit of writing before bed. I just got a new laptop, so no more excuses about back pain from sitting at the desk, ha.
>>4038068That's how I managed to get good deals for the rest, I basically sat on ebay until they came up for cheap. I also compared it to Mercari, so I know they were good prices. It's doable, I just might have to wait until I make some more money over summer. Vinted has actually been good too, that's where I got those cards last night and the playmat. It's just a much smaller number of people who have merch, and it's usually more expensive because of the higher shipping we have to pay. This is the playmat, before I washed it. I love it. I'd love Mercari but I think the main issue is not being able to order from abroad on any of the sites without a proxy. Everyone is kind of segregated. I change where I write based on where I feel comfortable at the time. Sometimes it's on my laptop in bed, sometimes on my desk, sometimes sat at my pc. It definitely helps if you're comfortable.
>>4038069That's absolutely beautiful, congrats! Do you plan on hanging it up somewhere? That's probably what I'll do with my human Al one when it comes in. It'll be interesting to see who all comes to this con I'm going to, American VVitchcraft will be there along with Identity Pollution, so I'll definitely be able to get a few pins I've been in search of. Sometimes they have resellers in the dealers rooms, I'll compare those prices to online platforms if I can find older merch.
>>4038074Thanks, I've wanted this one for a while. I don't know what I'll do with it, I'm heading home in about a month so there's no point putting it up. It's quite heavy as well. Those two are great, hopefully you get a good haul. If you have anything in particular you're in search of, it's a good idea to have an idea of how much they go for beforehand. I'm super impulsive and that helps me a lot.
>>4038069Lovely!
For anons doomposting about the ra wedding an rs shipper who was at the convention said they were in line behind the person and heard the conversation. Amir said “An interaction between Alastor and Lucifer that radioapple fans are either going to love or hate” is happening next season. Nothing about a wedding. Now this person is also just word of mouth but that sounds more believable than Amir giving away something as big as a wedding.>u know whats funny, i actually heard about this interaction while i was in viv's line ASDJFLADSFK and i fear a wedding was not implied, i think he just said something about an interaction between them is gonna happen and that ppl are either gonna hate him or love him for it >i think amir just generally thinks any interaction btwn two characters is gonna make the shippers go cwazy lolhe doesnt have shipper brain syndrome, so the interaction really could be anything. idk, i am 100% expecting ra fan service, it happened this season w/the mugs lol>also generally hearing abt this entire interaction was so wild to me as someone who actively tries to never utter the word "radiostatic" in front of the VA's/showrunners im always like "i love the dynamic btwn alastor and vox!">meanwhile there are ppl showing whole ass wedding zines of their ship to the VA's HAHA ASDJFLSLDKF
>>4038082I'll post updates, hopefully it'll beca good turnout. I'm tempted to go to Galaxycon in NOLA, but not as many artists will be there, so I might pass.>>4038136>ra weddingI honestly have no idea what you're talking about. I don't follow any drama on Twitter. Sounds like bullshit.
>>4038138>>4038136We had this drama talk I think last thread, thx for da hope post tho, I assumed it was taken out of context
>>4038141I 'member Amir's comment, but nothing about a wedding lmao. Sounds like rabid fujos overreacting to incredibly benign comments. I highly doubt there will be any RA content in S3 outside of things like them having matching mugs or some dumb shit.
>>4038136Genuinely that entire interaction was completely taken out context and anyone who believes that Amir’s comment is proof of an RA marriage next season is retarded. The wedding thing comes from the fact that the RA shipper gave him an RA wedding zine to sign. That’s all. The fact that people are still talking about it and using it as bait is crazy. Taking anything Amir says as proof of anything is also crazy. This is the original post made by the RA shipper for context: https://x.com/shannoniganz_z/status/2048482851537166547?s=46
>>4038136>also generally hearing abt this entire interaction was so wild to me as someone who actively tries to never utter the word "radiostatic" in front of the VA's/showrunners im always like "i love the dynamic btwn alastor and vox!"Am I old fashioned if I think this should be the norm rather than asking them their opinions on ships?
Maid deer….
>>4038225I’d never talk to the crew about ships personally, Amir is a bit of a weird one in that regard though because he shipbaits for everything. For example, his current fundraiser where he’s asking for donations to help pick his “favourite ship”.>>4038227It’s maid day in Japan, so much cute art.
>>4038234That explains all the art! It’s a good day.
>>4038239Yes! I’ve been out this afternoon so I’m using the train journey back to save it all. Such a cute maid.
>>4038240The cutest, maid or not!
>>4038271>>4038271>>4038271
