Putting aside the male characters (I don't think ANY of them would be good for Al, the closest being Angel maybe? Husk?) I think most of the female characters give femdom vibes. I do like Al/Mimzy, but I'm pretty sure Mims would be something of a gold digger, ha. And it's still quasi-canon that she took advantage of him in life, so that's a thing. The only issue is that Charlastor would cause massive meltdowns and Radiosmile just seems like low rent Charlastor. As much as I'd like to see Al treated tenderly, it's probably best that he stays single.

My other option was maybe Rosie, in a kind of motherly way, but that would require getting over the way she owned him and toyed with him for decades, and she’s probably someone else anyway. Most of Alastor’s relationships are pretty toxic in the show, and I don’t trust the writing enough to think they’ll be developed well. My position is still that he should end up single, as a hypothetical though there aren’t many good options really.

There’s the people who would cry about breaking up a sapphic couple to put Charlie with a man (even though she is bi and the only other person we know she has dated is a man), fujos who insist Alastor is gay and has to be with their partner of choice, and general hatred for Charlastor shippers based on “did you hear what a couple of schizos did years ago?”. Idk, I’d prefer them to develop a platonic relationship or something more familial than romantic based on where they are in the show right now. Emily is basically just Heaven Charlie, I’d like her to get more of her own personality. I like her, but I do get what you mean about her VA’s delivery. I like Charlie too, really, but you have to get past a lot of terrible writing to get there. In fanon I’m fine shipping practically everything because you can tweak things and make them make sense. The canon leaves a lot to be desired, and if it’s not going to be done well it shouldn’t be done at all.

Viv has built a large fanbase of LGBT people, and a lot of the younger people in the community have issues with representation. Charlie IS bisexual, she's shown to have interests in both, so her falling for a man isn't really sapphic erasure. I think the only way this might work is if Vaggi(e) got with another woman and ended having a better relationship than with Charlie. Maybe it would reinforce the 'don't date bi girls if you're sapphic' trope, but hey. There would probably be some Aromantic people who'd be disgruntled, but having some heteroromantic asexual representation would actually be nice, since most ace representation is also some flavor of alphabet soup (aro/bi/trans/whatever). With the fujos? I don't know what to say, this younger generation has a really hard time with just enjoying things that aren't canon. We're living in a timeline where fujos are harassing the very real wives of formula one drivers and hockey players because they're in the way of their gay ships. They're going to be salty no matter what happens unless it's their OTP. Long gone are the old school fujos who were just happy to indulge in fantasy knowing it wasn't canon. All the fujo ships I indulged in were never going to happen and it never mattered to me.All that aside, the straight ships in Hazbin feel like such hetslop because they're incredibly rushed. Does Cherisnake or Madmaid even have anything going for them? They just came out of nowhere. No chemistry, no build up. It's ass. And I'm absolutely positive Charlastor or Radiosmile would be exactly the same.

One of the major downsides to being a multishipper and engaging with so many ships is that you see a lot of really terrible delusional takes, and the sheer hatred some people have for rival ships. It’s part of the reason I’ve been engaging more with less popular ships, I’m sick of reading about how RS/RA is definitely going to be canon because it’s the best thing ever and everyone who disagrees is an idiot with shit taste. It's made me very guarded around most shippers, and that's unfortunate. What's so funny to me is how yumes were considered the delusional cringe subset just a decade or so ago. >>4033225RS has seen the biggest shift from what I’ve seen, RA has always had that annoying subsection of underage fans who start ship wars and shout about how canon it is. Though I found that muting the Murdermedia tag helped a lot. I still see some of the art because a lot of people suck at using the 39952083 tags they insisted on having for every slight variation of the ship, but it filters out a lot of the cringe opinions. I’m stubborn enough to not let it kill my enjoyment of the ships, but it is annoying.Sometimes the algorithm is ok and gives me lots of art, it’s a gamble. All the Alastor yumes I’ve interacted with have been fine, in terms of the actual yumeshipping parts anyway.

Most RS shippers are TVfags anyway, so those who do care aren't really into Al. He's more of an accessory. There are completely normal people who like MM out there, and I'm generalizing of course, but that's the trend I've noticed. The tagging is...not the best. I've had to mute so many variations because they insist on having a tag for every possible dynamic and scenario, and some actively try to slip past filters. For example I've seen straight up MM porn tagged a just #human Alastor, #human Vox. It's impolite at best, and for some of us who are schizo enough to get anxiety from it (*vitamin D deficiency has got me all fucked up*) it's incredibly unpleasant. I chalk it up to young folks who haven't learned fandom etiquette yet.Femcel over on /hhg/ was the only actual Alastor yume (I wouldn't count people who self insert with multiple characters as a yume) that I didn't fully vibe with, the overwhelming majority of other yumes have been a pleasure to be around. I've seen drama in the greater yume community over dumb shit like itabags>you're not a true yume unless you have a repeating button bag with only official merch bla blaBut I think a lot of that is manufactured TikTok outrage.

The only other yumes I really interact with are other Hellaverse yumes anyway, we’re all in the same boat as far as merch is concerned. Speaking of which, I’m so done with seeing Hot Topic blind bags for everything. It’s prohibitively expensive to buy from HT from overseas anyway, I’m not spending that much on shipping if I’m not guaranteed to get Alastor. Those phone buddy things are already sold out online, and they’re being resold for like $40-50 already. As deerfags we are blessed to get more official merch than anyone, but cursed to pay the deer tax when buying secondhand.
