I think children should be allowed to watch and play all sorts of entertainment and we should let them come to their own conclusions. If they like it, fine. If they don't, fine. Waiting for them to reach to 12 years of age before even exposing them to anything considered PG-13 seems more harmful to their development than just letting them toy around with what piques their curiosity. Although I would definitely be inclined to guide them away from junk media.
