Atlus has a lot of queermos and such amongst the staff both past and present. The main issue is that one very particular but important asshole is giga-anti-gay, and that's Hashino, the director of SMTIII, DDS1-1, P3-5, Catherine, and Metaphor. If he's not involved, then the gay shit starts to creep in. Hell, just see the re-release of Catherine that he wasn't directly involved in outside of greenlighting it. He moved on from Persona after P5, so P6 could be the first game in the subseries to provide a gay option since P2:IS from the late 90s. Sadly, it is doubtful that a gay shota route would be on the table, but being a big brother figure to a shota NPC has been a common Social Link, so I doubt that the game will be shota-free.

As such, P-Studio has been Hashino-free for nearly a decade, but said decade has only seen P-Studio make re-releases (P5 Royal, Catherine: Fully Body, P3 Reload, and the upcoming P4 Revival). P6 has been under wraps and potentially restarted at least once since Covid is rumored to have derailed their original plans for the game. With P6 finally announced and some even rumoring a fall 2027 release (huge doubt from me), it is extremely unlikely that Hashino has had the chance to muck up the new team and whatever new vision that they have for Persona that likely both builds off of what he started with P3 but also probably brings new ideas to the table or clever ways to evolve past ideas Hashino had discarded. Hell, I half suspect that they might even restore the gay option of P4 that Hashino cut in the final hours (it was so complete that the localizers dubbed it because the files were still there and no different than other final-cut event scenes for their workflow so they didn't even notice it wasn't actually part of the final-cut).
