>>4048336Can't escape that fucking guy
Extremely cute deer plush in the wild!
>>4048370Rare sighting! I haven't seen a deer in the wild (yet).
>>4048370That’s a good deer plush>>4048376There will be a day, and it will be when you least expect him to appear >>4048342Very annoying
>>4048352Is this a good over stimulation or a bad over stimulation…
>>4048370I need him!
Ugh it’s too hot, I can’t sleep and the Alastor body pillow definitely got kicked out of bed. >>4048370Silly deer, just sat there where anyone could pick him up.
>>4048413Deer is sleeping on the floor, very sad! it’s been not too hot here, though the AC helps too.>sat there where anyone could pick him upWhat if that’s what he wants?
>>4048416We do not have AC, I am surviving with a crappy fan I got off Amazon. My house isn’t usually too bad, but we have a heatwave this week. Sorry Alastor, your sacrifice will be remembered and I’ll cuddle you when it doesn’t make me sweat.
>>4048419>Heat waveoof WISH ya luck! got a window unit installed, so that helps dilute things. the floors cold, so im sure he is happier then you! unles its carpet
>>4048425I have wooden floors in my room, which are actually cooler. I might join him down there. In terms of numbers it probably doesn’t sound that hot over here but British heat hits differently. We’re not just pussies I swear. My parents did finally buy an AC unit but it’s in Spain where it’s currently not as hot as it is here lel.
>>4048427Might be a good idea! Could lay on the deer if the floor is too hard! I think because its a wet heat instead of a dry heat, so it feels worse.
>>4048428Oh yeah, humidity is over 80% again… it’s torture. Laying on the deer is comfy but warmer than laying on the floor. Can’t wait until next week when it’s about 10 degrees cooler and raining. Deer will be back in my bed for sure.
>>4048438>humidity is over 80%im so sorry...
>experiencing heatwave in country that doesn't normally require AC and is wholly unprepared >done nothing all day but sit in front of a fan>won't be able to do anything for days till this shit ends>nose is plugged from dust and heat, head hurts, look and feel like shit Heat is dreadful, people who like hot weather are subhuman and deserve to be launched into the sun
>>4048439It isn’t great. I gotta think of deer to get me through it.
>>4048442You are 100% correct and I can’t wait for winter to be here.
>>4048445It just boggles my fucking mind that anyone would favor hot weather over cold>cold weather>air feels crisp and clean, get to wear cute clothes/lots of fun layers, rest under cozy blankets, turn on heater, drink hot beverages, everything smells wonderful, it's easy to get warm in no time>hot weather>the air feels thick and disgusting to breathe, putting on any clothes is torture but you can't go to work naked, shitty fans blowing on your face 24/7, makeup melts, no amount of consuming cold food makes a difference, guaranteed to sweat/stink, guaranteed to have the worst hair of your life, can't even sleep with a blanket, can't even sleep period, endless bugs everywhere, basically fucked in every way>"errrmmm but muh tanning on the beach hurrrrrrr xDDDD"Fuck these degenerates
>>4048448>hates the heatAlastor would be able to handle it
>>4048454Alastor is stronger than me
>>4048448Not only that but this country falls apart as soon as it’s over 30.>don’t go on a train because the tracks are fucked>roads melt>several people will die jumping into open water>restaurants shutting early/not serving hot food>hose pipe bans>AC is sparse everywhere not just homesAt least schools seem to be finally relaxing their uniform rules so kids aren’t sat in classrooms in ties and blazers. This truly is Hell on Earth.>>4048454Alastor can come and pamper me in the heat and when it’s winter and everything freezes over I’ll do the same for him.
Got a little parcel today with my Starr Toy things… a third playmat may be excessive. I need to make some clothes for the plushies, they have cute little butts though.
>>4048511Lovely haul! Also I'm very sorry about the heat...I'm really hoping it cools down before I get back.
>>4048555I have no idea where I’m going to put it, I still haven’t finished unpacking everything I already have. The heatwave should be over by the weekend, next week the temperature is in the low 20s which is much more reasonable. I’m just glad I’m not in London right now.
>>4048561The last time I spent my summer in London it was so bad we had to leave and go down towards Portsmouth where it was marginally cooler. It's slightly above 40c here now and it feels like soup outside, but having aircon makes it much, MUCH more bearable. I do wish Europe adopted air conditioning. If we could retrofit all of our architecture here that predates the 1970s I know the UK can...My ancestors must have been made out of strong stuff to live in the Gulf though, damn.
>>4048575I think people are starting to, I’m fairly lucky in that my house is hundreds of years old and so has no insulation. It’s awful in winter, but pretty good in the heat. Up until recently it hasn’t been worth it, but we have more and more of these heatwaves where the temperature is creeping up towards 40. We still need the insulation and heating, but I can see houses starting to have AC as well. For now I’ll stick with my £25 fan and kicking my body pillows onto the floor.
>>4048580Ours is from the interwar period, so relatively new by UK standards, but typical of the London suburbs. No insulation either, so it's freezing in winter, but all of the pavement around means it's an oven in summer. We have a nice fan and Al certainly sleeps on the floor lol. Though last year I missed the worst of it, thank God. Hopefully the heating trend won't continue, but something tells me Europe will be as hot as the South before it's all said and done...
>>4048581We have nothing but countryside around which is a bonus. I think the continent still has it worse than us, but a lot of those countries are at least used to dealing with this sort of heat. For us it’s still an emergency, we have to shut everything down just in case. If I pull The Offer again in my blaster boxes I’ll sell it and buy an AC unit.
>>4048511Very nice! They have the cutest butts and tail!
>>4048584Honestly in this heat I don’t blame them for going around with their tails out. It must be terrible being fluffy at a time like this.
>>4048632a Terrible time to be fluffy
>>4048642Would Alastor shave his fluff in the summer or just cope with it?
>>4048648He definitely would, hell I’ve got a piece of art that has him hot with all his fluff so that he shaves it off! Course won’t be able to find it till im trying to find a different pic. Hopefully I’ll be able to find and post it here
>>4048664That is always the case. He’s probably lucky that the fluff isn’t canon, I bet it’s itchy and uncomfortable when it grows back in.
>>4048665Would be a pain for him to clean and maintain by himself, but it might be necessary for winter days and the like. He might just get too cold. Lucky and unlucky, mostly because the fluff is so cute!!!
Got a few more standees and another sticker for my laptop… poor Emily had to be censored lel, sucks to be an icky girl. >>4048670He probably hates how cute it is, like with the tail and everything else. Silly deer, just embrace how adorable you are!
>>4048673I have that same sticker, he's so cute. Also icky girl lol.
>>4048677He’s so sparkly. Occasionally I have to give a nod to Human Al as well, he is very underrepresented in my collection. We don’t like smelly girls here. Ew, cooties or something. Also the fawnkini is based.
>>4048679So I've actually run out of room on my little shelf for standees, I suppose deer will just be spread throughout the house, especially with the Japanese sandee on the way and the new pieces of acrylic tat I'm sure to pick up at Galaxycon...
>>4048686I set mine on a table for now and it’s full. I’m going to put them out properly eventually. I hung up my pins today, finally. I want that standee, fucking con exclusives… you have to get it so I can live vicariously through you. I just got some more Japanese merch that came out last night, my third cushion with Alastor’s face on it.
>>4048673he can get people to listen to him alot easier if he leans into it.>>4048679>>4048677Deerkini is based>>4048686need to have a dedicated room for deer.>>4048693deer couch!
>>4048694They’d go with my couch as well, it’s red. I’ve made too many jokes about sitting on Alastor’s face already.
>>4048693The annoying thing about con exclusives is that they don't usually let you buy by proxy for others, I know this particular one is one per customer per day. Otherwise I'd pick some stuff up for deerfrens. I might set up a new shrine in the UK since I'm running out of room.
>>4048702I still maintain it’s a shitty thing to do. Whatever. Not salty at all. Anyway. It would be nice to have a decent collection in both the US and the UK, then you don’t have to worry about bringing things with you all the time. I was stressed enough about bringing my collection back and it was driven up in a taxi in carefully packed boxes, I can’t imagine putting things in a suitcase. Interestingly my mother’s comment on the merch I have out right now is that it’s pretty. She then suggested that I show my niece and nephew but I shut that down fast lol.
>>4048703I was sweating like a whore in church when I few out of Gatwick last time because they wanted to look through my enamel pins and art markers. I was so worried that they'd confiscate something. And they took out my body pillow case and tested it for drug residue. :| Oddly enough my mother thinks my shrine is 'pretty' as well, but I've been very quiet about the source material for obvious reasons.
>>4048713*flewFucking autocorrect
>just watched a video on the horrors of CWD and prion disease in deerI've never eaten venison and I never will now.
>>4048715It's not really an issue unless you get brain matter in the meat you're eating.
>>4048713Lmao I can imagine them looking through it all like >this person is definitely getting some extra security checks, definitely on drugs or somethingPoor Alastor. At least he is universally acknowledged as pretty though.>>4048715I grew up when British beef was banned everywhere due to BSE. Prion disease is scary, but thankfully still very rare. Alastor with CWD is a pretty cool concept through. The horror vibes are so good.
>>4048703>>4048713lol, guess he is just so naturally lovely, people assume he is fine!>>4048715>>4048719It’s scary stuff
>>4048792Yes, yes. He’s totally family friendly. Just your normal cuddly cannibal serial killer.
>>4048800If 13 year olds are having birthday cakes with him on it…. I’m sure it’s fine!
>>4048804Not just him but RS. Two characters who do awful things and worse to each other. Keep 13 year olds away from ships please, especially when a lot of the content is pretty dark.
>>4048744Oh yeah, I'm a very suspicious looking person. :3 Especially loaded down with deer merch...>BSEI'm waiting for the day my husband's brain worms wake up...>>4048806You just know that they've seen the most heinous shit. It's not hard to be a parent, just take a semblance of time to look into what your kids are watching. It's not hard at all. Mine is still a bit young, but they have 0 internet access and will never know about Al past him being a handsome cartoon character.
>>4048808If I worked for border control, I’d definitely confiscate it. It’s a danger to the country! Luckily for me when I was starting to eat real food, we were living in Australia. No brain worms for me, probably. It is my number 1 irrational fear though, contracting a prion disease. I eat pretty much any kind of offal but I could never eat brain for that reason. >kidsThere are a lot of diabolically lazy parents out there though. When I was a kid I got into so much that I shouldn’t have, I was writing rape fanfic at 13 (it was a masterpiece as you can imagine, handwritten and everything), and that was definitely a bad thing. I’d definitely be a better adjusted person if I hadn’t been into all that.
>>4048814>AustraliaI have a very close friend from Perth who was telling me the job market is good down there, I would be tempted to go if I didn't have my life very situated in the US and UK, though I'm not sure if we'll stay in the latter much longer than it takes to get my citizenship in the next few years...Well, if I'm being perfectly honest, I wrote some ridiculously dark stuff at 13. Rape, unplanned pregnancy, guro, age gap...and I was watching 18+ horror on the regular, so I'm not the best example of having had stellar parenting. My mother was going through a little fundie kick too post 9/11, which was fun.
>>4048830I lived in Perth for a couple of years, it was great. My mother wants to go back, but she’d only go for a holiday because she wouldn’t want to be too far from the grandchildren. I was considering maybe going over to the US for a bit after I finish my degree. We will see though.I was just a bored middle class kid with unrestricted access to the internet, and parents who were divorcing and therefore not paying as much attention as they should have been. I ended up talking to people much older than me, and that’s also when I got close to someone who was outed as being involved in zoosadism. Which is the reason Alastor is about as furry as I can get before my brain just says nope.
>>4048814>>4048830Fun fun stuff to be getting into at that age… at least we know better now, can’t exactly blame them for being ignorant of something they can’t even properly set up by themselves. Alastor would hate routers, I think.
>>4048838Alastor’s broadcast getting interrupted by the dial-up noise… he’d definitely kick you off the internet so he could use the phone.
>>4048842What a silly fellow, hopefully he can figure it all out himself!
>>4048844I wonder what he would think of internet radio. Probably he’d think it was inferior to proper radio, but better than other forms of entertainment.
>>4048831The US can be very nice or very shitty depending. In the Gulf the food is great, the atmosphere is nice, people are hospitable, but it feels like satan's armpit.>talking to older people Oof, yeah, I can relate to that. I remember you mentioning the zoo sadism stuff once. I can enjoy a lot of feral/monsterfucker stuff, but western furries rustle my jimmies after the Kero situation. Fantasy is one thing, that was...something else. But I can relate. I was unsupervised and ended up down bad rabbit holes.
>>4048847I have a couple of years to work on my plans. Maybe then I can really be NegaMillie and get an American husband. They were pretty weird when I spoke to them, kept sending me emails about self-harming and stuff. We mostly spoke on Neopets btw, lel. Monsterfucking is fine because it’s pure fantasy, but anything explicitly furry is just associated with those kinds of people. Wolves and tbf canines in general are ruined for me, by association. With Alastor I can maybe stretch to the deertaur stuff, but only because it’s Alastor and even then I don’t really find it attractive per se.
>>4048845Lots of new things for him to try at least, probably not liking most of it, would be fun to watch though. alastor would go on silly little rants about things.
>>4048858If you asked him to do his radio show I’m sure half of it would be ranting about the new technology and how the old way was better. In other news, the Insane MV got removed due to copyright infringement.
>>4048859You've got to be FUCKING kidding me.
>>4048859Total Vivze death, Jesus Christ. Least we know she is seething about it. Hopefully someone uploads a copy soon. Alastor would be a very good lad to listen to ranting while driving, will have a good selection of tunes too
>>4048860>>4048861Yeah, it basically confirms she was seething about it. I hope she doesn’t decided to retaliate against the Spindlehorse employees who worked on it, petty as she is.
>>4048862She probably will. Hopefully it gets reuploaded. By Mr black gryphon eventually. It’s funny how his was the only vid that was taken down, all the other rips and reactions are still up
Other fan animations are left up, but this one gets nuked
>>4048857I'm sorry you had that experience. There are a lot of weird, groom-ish people in the furry community and I steer clear of it. I used to draw anthro, but those people ruined it for me.>>4048862It wouldn't surprise me. Honestly fuck Viv. This sets a bad precedent for transformative works going forward. And people will cheer it because she's spread the 'pedophile' rumor everywhere. I will admit that his relationship is weird, but the girl swears nothing weird happened when she was a minor and people are going to have to give me more evidence than random screenshots that can easily be faked with third party apps. I'm not in the 'blindly believe all teenagers/women' camp because I was a manipulative teenager once too imao. Either way, it has fuck all to do with his output.
>>4048872Can’t trust anything or anyone these days when you have dedicated groups to trying to slander and harass people. It’s scary! People have gotten so rotted by technology… Alastor certainly has a point about it.
>>4048859>>4048860>>4048862The thing about the Insane MV getting a copyright strike is that it's the culmination of Gabriel and Viv's fall out. On Gabriel's side, he was enraged when he and the pilot crew were shafted in favor of Broadway. All of the cast had to be restrained over their disappointment but he let his anger slip out more than once. One of which being that he wanted Ed Bosco to feature in his pilot crew fan song but had to be denied because Viv would have fired him from voicing Striker. Gabriel had to delete this post but there is a long history of Viv being super petty and this tracks. Official Spindle employees worked on this MV and Viv implied on Bluesky that she was angry when she found out, which led to a lot of speculation that these people have been immediately fired. On Viv's side, she hates Gabriel because of allegations that he groomed his wife during the pony show era and his insistance to keep latching on to his pilot role. This is not the first time she threw shade at Gabriel over his fan songs and has denounced the canonicity of his songs with seethe. Her going as far to sic Amazon on fan content she doesn't like goes too far and I don't like the precedent sent. Amazon has no rights to Insane, a pilot era song, and Spindle employees animating this on their spare time should not be fired. That's Disney level shit.Tldr: people losing their jobs at Spindle for working for Gabriel is not a new thing and I'd say Bosco was the first victim of it (which is something the public should not have known if Viv could help it)
>>4048884Poor fucking Bosco, locked in Vivs basement. Genuinely the worst lady in the world
>>4048884It really all boils down to >Viv is petty. At the end of the day he's just a fan like anyone else making fan content. The claim that he's holding on to his pilot role is retarded when he's not doing anything more than any other fan is doing.
>retard called it an official music video >every other fan song for alastor he's made says "a hazbin hotel song">in fact no other fan song has the word official in the title from himyou can call viv a petty bitch but this obviously was him being an attention whorehe gambled with amazon and lost simple as
>look up "Insane mv" on twitter>several Japanese accounts expressing dismay over it being taken down since they love Alastor so much>they're probably also concerned about posting their own animated videos >see a famous westoid user celebrating it getting taken down Total Viv death desu.
>>4048907Fuck off, viv dick rider
>>4048908>>4048910almost every jap/kor account is saying it was taken down for saying it was official and how several people thought it was an official video for hazbinyou don't have to be a dick rider to see he did a retarded thing
>>4048912Go back to /hhg/, tourist.
>>4048907>>4048912>bluesky filename>all lower caseViv is a petty fucking cunt considering her treatment of the pilot cast. They could've requested he change the title. You are also clearly not a regular poster here
>>4048907Go suck Viv's dick elsewhere, tourist.
>>4048907BEGONE!
is reading comprehension this low? Insane is his song. He commissioned a video for his song. That video is his official video for his pilot era song, not an official Amazon product. Daisies and Upside Down have the same little text on their thumbnails. This is so obviously what he meant, there is no reason why Amazon got involved if not Viv crying about how her employees worked on so therefore it's somehow Amazon's property?
>>4048925viv wanted it gone, so amazon had to find a reason, maybe they will be saying its the 'offical' thing. Hopefully it comes back, but we will see
It would be crazy if they managed to get it taken down because he put the word official in the title. Between this and the latest aroace discourse I’m glad I have work this weekend so I can avoid twitter for a bit.
>>4048979>aroace discourse Qrd? I'm not on the socials as you know.
>>4049026It’s not much desu, people dug up the old interview where Viv said there was a canon direction for Alastor’s romantic journey and decided that means he’s going to be aromantic. Which of course started squabbling amongst the usual suspects. There’s a whole lot of people who, if he does turn out to be canonically aroace, are going to weaponise the fuck out of it to shit on ships they don’t like, that’s all I’ve gleaned.
>>4049032It's funny how they interpret that considering Viv has made Amir correct himself over claiming he was aro, and her stating that Faustisse's interpretations of Alastor were incorrect (considering they were the main person pushing the aro narrative). I take that more as Viv saying he WILL have a canonical romantic interest. There's more that points towards heteroromantic than anything else considering the character's history. I do t care either way as long as he's not homo or biromantic, because she's established on numerous occasions that he doesn't enjoy the company of men, so it would come across as very fan-service-y if we're talking purely about canon. Otherwise people being weird about what other people enjoy is nothing new. People need to learn to stay in their lane. It's not hard.
>>4049035I’ve seen a lot of people push back recently against the usual line that it’s a spectrum and he could just be aromantic and sex repulsed. I kind of get the idea though it’s covering up for if their preferred ship doesn’t become canon, they can use that to cope or shut down other ships. I don’t want to pigeonhole myself because I don’t want to be inevitably disappointed. I mean I write about him have sex and romance with both men and women. That’s my preference, and I know it’s a fanon interpretation of the character. It’s kind of reminding me though why I started writing The Swamp Witch, because I was tired of everything being about shipping. My favourite fics I’ve written are actually the ones where there are no ships. It’s nice to just let Alastor be Alastor, without all the noise.
>>4049036If I'm being perfectly honest, in the ace community sex repulsed aros can be very trying to deal with. The idea of an asexual spectrum is as old as the concept of asexuality itself and is well represented on the flag and in asexual literature. It's not really equivalent to say, gays and lesbians suddenly having to be inclusive of trans people. I understand gatekeeping to a degree, but I don't really understand the smugness that many aros exude about being the 'real asexuals'. Not all are this way, but there are a frustrating number who are. That aside, it sounds like mostly cope. People need to learn to let others enjoy what they enjoy.
>>4049040It’s just gone from >x ship will be canon!to >x QPR will be canon!Same shit different day. I wish everyone would go be weird about a different character that I don’t mind muting.
>>4049032Always people digging up things that don’t matter. Very sad.
>>4049065They are pathetic. Should spend all that energy loving the deer instead.
This morning I remembered there was a zine dedicated to Alastor and the chair and when I get paid, I need holding back lel.
>>4049066So true! Complaining gets them nowhere>>4049181Probably one of the only good parts of season 2 is seeing him spin around in the rolling chair. Glorious stuff indeed.>80 dollarsIt seems worth it? But that’s a lot of money
>>4049197Yeah, it’s a lot. But you can get the physical zine for $25 and the digital copy for $10 without all the merch. I just think it’s funny, and welcome after all the bullshit shipping discourse.
>>4049208Easier shipping process, you thinking of just getting the zine, or all of it?
>>4049259Not sure, depends how much I get paid I guess. I also have more trading cards coming this week so if I get good pulls and sell them, that might help. There isn’t really anything else I want merch-wise right now.
>>4049181That's hilarious. Link?
>>4049262https://radioroller.bigcartel.com/
>>4049263Tasty stuff, might just get the book
>>4049267I want to get the book at least. I kind of like the look of the stretch goals though… stupid deer has too much nice merch.
>>4049286It all seems so good, I don’t need all that merch though…
>>4049292Well, I don’t need it… I’m just a sucker for anything with his face on it. I think I’m addicted to deer.
>>4049299We wouldn’t be here if we weren’t a sort of deer addicted
>>4049301He’s actually worse than meth at this point.
>>4049312Money wise, but at least your not losing any of your teeth! Or anything like that
>>4049314Haha, no, though maybe if I did I could get a set of yellow fangs made… sadly that is probably the feature of his that would translate the worst to real life. I’d rather get cute ears, if I had a choice.
>>4049316I’ve seen some people make the yellow fangs work, but it’s certainly difficult. Gotta make sure he brushes daily when you get your hands on him! The ears and little antlers are the cutest.
>>4049317We need those minty fresh kisses. He has so many cute features, it’s really hard to choose. Overall he’s just cute.
>>4049318We need to see more Alastor fan clubs and love in the show, we won’t but COME ON.
>>4049323Disregarding our obvious bias, surely a strong demon like Alastor would have fans? Even if other sinners were scared of him, there had to be some who looked up to him. I mean, Vox did back in the day. I refuse to believe he was the only one.
>>4049328In the comics all the cannibal ladies love him, gotta be a popular deer!
Still getting angry comments on my fic>someone goes 4 CHAPTERS DEEP before getting angry that it's exactly what the tags say it isI can not hold everyone's hand any harder ffs.Anyway. If anyone is ever curious about how long it takes for AO3 to look into a harassment claim I finally got my response. It was in my favor, so this person will get a warning more than likely. It doesn't affect their ability to use the site, but it will put a permanent tic beside their username for mods to know they're potentially troublesome. Which is good.
>>4049407Holy shit that’s still going on? People are idiots. There’s been way too much noise about the content ao3 allows recently, I’m glad they’re standing firm about it. There are other platforms to read fics if you’re too stupid to use tags lol.
>>4049416Thankfully not nearly as bad as it was last year, but I still catch the occasional stray angry comment. Usually someone saying nonsense like >this could be hurtful to real victims ??? That's literally what the tags are for. It's literally a horror story, I dunno what to tell you. I put an additional warning at the beginning to READ THE FUCKING TAGS, because is very obviously an explicit fic. We'll see if that helps.A lot of younger Zoomers seem to have a difficult time understanding that fiction is fiction though. They get super assmad over AO3 allowing anything that's legal per US law, and I'm very glad that AO3 is basically telling them to fuck off.
>>4049444You sick freak. I honestly wish those retards would just purge themselves from fandoms rather than making it everyone else’s problem. It’s your own job to curate you experience, not everyone else’s job to cater only to you. At least ao3 has tags, back in my day you had nothing but a short description and a rating and you just hoped for the best. They’re incredibly entitled, and also completely dismissive of the fact that real victims may use fics like that as an outlet. When I’m feeling bad about my own trauma, I seek out or write dark content. The alternative is usually some form of self harm, so I know which I’d rather do. Your fic is beautifully written and one of the few I reread. Fuck the haters.
>>4049407Good stuff! Least they do their job properly sometimes
Apologies, I have been traveling for business. :3>>4049461These kids will never understand what it's like to go into a fic blind and then be hit with surprise buttseks or something similar lol. It really was the wild west not too long ago, AO3 makes it easier than ever to avoid things you don't like and they still bitch and moan.>using fiction as an outlet 100% this. I can work through any trauma that I have in a safe, controlled environment. It makes it much easier to process. I've been seeking out fiction where the protagonist deals with similar issues since I was a very young teen, it's a very valid coping strategy. It's better to read about self harm than to do it, and God knows I do read about it. >rereadAh, thank you. I reread many fics from our users here quite often, and it's extra fun to read them to my husband who gives his little critiques. He's yet to have a fic from /deer/ that he hasn't enjoyed. Anyway. I was considering making a quasi prologue for new readers explaining the motifs. I'd have to post a new work and attach it as a 'series', but it might be worth it since the whole point goes completely over people's heads. I don't fancy myself to be anything more than a hobbyist, but discussing literary tropes is fun, and it would clear up my inbox for that particular story.>>4049499I'm glad it got sorted. People need to be reminded that AO3 isn't Twitter.
>>4049626It was always mpreg for me, go away I don’t need to read about buttbabies. That was before omegaverse was a thing as well. /deer/ fics are my favourites, yours and Deer Bones are ones I reread when I need a pick me up. They’re safe lol, I can read anything by you guys and know that Alastor is going to be in character and it’ll be good.>prologueCould be a good idea, though the retards who can’t read tags will probably continue to miss the point entirely. Discussion is always fun though.I need to get off my ass and finish something. It was too hot last week and then I started my period and my anxiety has been up and down. I’m about half way through editing Radiorose smut with sub Alastor, which I need to finish really.
>>4049641>mpregI never enjoyed that or any of the omegaverse stuff. The latter squicks me out with all the 'wolf' stuff added on top of the mpreg, not a fan of knotted dicks or sex pollen hormone nonsense. Ugh same, I've been ridiculously busy this past week, so my writing output has been 0. I need to do *something*. But I suppose taking extra time to edit does pay off. My first drafts are...not the best.
>>4049673Omegaverse always seemed like hetslop with extra steps to me. Sorry. I did manage to write until two boxes from A24 arrived, but it’s for an Appleradio exchange thingy so I can’t really talk about it. I got about 800 words down before my human merch arrived and my cards. My pulls were kind of crap, I did get another NF human Alastor and a couple of the foils I wanted though, so it’s all good.
>>4049641>>4049673>mpregYeah, who would even like that sort of thing with Alastor. Definitely not me definitely! The omegaverse stuff is definitely a bit off though. Goes too into detail on some things, and it affects all the dynamics and characters when you really don’t have too. Just have Alastor get into a rut if you really want him to be a sort of sex fiend for a bit.>deerbonesIt’s a decent enough fic, but I’m glad you enjoy it so much! Been in a sump with my next one. Barely written anything for a bit. It’s annoying.
>>4049686I don’t mind Alastor being pregnant or having kids, as long as I don’t have to think too hard about the mechanics of it. It’s all magic. Deer Bones is great, it’s relaxing to read. The writing will come, don’t worry. But I get the stress of not having done a lot for a while. The Radiorose fic I’m writing is kind of… idk how to describe it, but it’s heavy going I guess? Masochist sub Alastor is fun though.
>>4049696>I held hands with the radio demon, and now he’s having triplets???Magic hand waving is always a good way of going about it, going into detail with pheromones and whatever the omega shit does is dumb.Rosie doing some Deer abusing, is it both of them human or both sinners?
>>4049700In settings where magic is a thing, just use magic. It’s easier and I don’t care about all the weird omega shit. Rosie is indeed abusing the deer, but he asked for it. They’re both sinners. Freaky fun in Hell.
>>4049683800 words is an accomplishment desu. I'm lucky to get half that at my rate. At least the pulls were worth it? I never allowed myself to collect the cards because I knew that I'd consistently get shit pulls with my luck. I might take some extras to the next NOLA con and see if I can trade them for ribbons or something.>>4049686>Goes too into detail on some thingsProbably my biggest criticism of it, I don't need to know how the mpreg works, it's just magical deer stuff.
>>4049724I’m pretty fast at writing when I get into it. The most I’ve done in a day is around 6k words done and edited, but it’s not my best work obviously. Still, at least it’s better than using AI. A big RS fanfic was just found to have chunks copypasted straight from Claude. Anything to jump on the most popular trend, I guess. The cards are worth it, I’m trading a card to get one of the last foils I want, and I sold one of the Vox promos already. They’re a lot of fun, but I probably won’t buy more until season 3.
>>4049702Freaky fun, a little bondage and knife play perhaps?
>>4049724>focus on the deer not the processes simple as.
>>4049736Alastor gets a whipping. Idk, it’s basically Alastor letting go and allowing Rosie to control him. I think in my mind it’s in response to all those people who were going on about hating bottom Al and he would never be a sub etc etc. Like sure, I agree, but in a fantasy land where he’s able to finally relinquish control to one person he trusts we can have some fun?
>>4049730>6kI nearly spat out my Monster, that's an insane output for one sitting, God bless. >found to have chunks copypasted straight from ClaudeMassive oof. I don't know why people still try to pad their stories with slop when it's super easy to run it through ai detection program and get caught. I can MAYBE understand rewording it, as long as it isn't dictating the plot, but that's really pushing it desu. Anything past basic inspiration and research should be tagged. Even then, being as transparent as possible is a good thing. I put a little disclaimer that my story was inspired by a c.ai chat for example, despite the fact that the story/writing is 100% from me. Well, I'll admit my husband helped a little with the plot, heh.>>4049737That fawn is precious.
>>4049755I’d better see a tag for your husband next time I check ao3, or you’re getting cancelled. Nah, if I literally spend all day writing I can do 6k. I did it for my Radiojoy fic, but that was because I procrastinated. There are parts of that I’m not the proudest of, but it’s such a small community I’m just glad to have contributed something. When I started writing my reader insert fic, I was writing like 3k words a day for the first 4 chapters at least. Again it was a spur of the moment decision, and I was working with a definite deadline. I think when I have too much spare time, I procrastinate too much. >AIYeah, someone made a new skin on ao3 that detects it when people copy and paste it straight from Claude. If you’re going to use AI though at least try and edit it a little, pasting it straight into ao3 is incredibly shitty and lazy. It doesn’t work for my fics to be fair, I’ve tried to get ChatGPT to generate stuff before and it mostly tells me it can’t do it and also get help, lol. It’s just funny because half my tl is people deleting art they made for this fic and being shocked over it all.
>>4049759I'm not entirely sure he wants to be attached to my degenerate nonsense lel. He likes being the shadowy God who dictates the fate of his dolls. I yearn for the days I could lock in. It seems so distant now, Peppa Pig is on an endless loop in the background. >new skinInteresting, I'm of the opinion that full copy/paste material shouldn't be allowed on AO3. I'm all for accepting new technology, but it should be a tool, not a substitute if anything. I don't think Claude or ChatGPT could really replicate my style if I'm being honest. I write a lot of purple prose, whenever I try to get ai to replicate it I just end up with a lot of nonsensical figurative language. That's IF it's even willing to try with my subject matter. Google's ai did a critical analysis of my fic when I searched for it though, and I did have a little laugh.
>>4049748Very hot! Just a little deer whipping as a treat>>4049755Cutest little fawn ever!
>>4049766Those days will come back, for all of us. I only really tried ChatGPT out of curiosity, it basically wouldn’t do anything with sex or extreme violence so it’s pointless for my needs. What it did generate was something that had all the classic hallmarks of AI writing, and a watered down version of the story I fed into it. Boring. I’m not exactly starved for content to read, and I don’t care to get popular for my ability to copy and paste. It really sucks for the authors who have been exposed, but if you’re not writing huge chunks of your fic I guess you don’t deserve the renown.>summaryThat’s funny, I had a go and it made up some bullshit for The Swamp Witch. It told me it had like 1400 kudos, and talked about the original character of the witch. So dumb.>>4049768In researching I found out that deerskin leather is really soft and people do use it to make lashes. So make of that what you will.
>>4049771Ai writing has a certain, uh, cadence. If that makes sense? I don't see how a fic that utilized Claude to a large degree managed to get so many fans if I'm being honest, I feel like people should have recognized the style for what it was. Best thing those authors can do is scrap it and come back with a new account not using any ai assistance.
>looks into new skin situation Holy shit, some of the most popular fics across multiple fandoms are Claude slop. What. The. Fuck.
>>4049778Yeah. I get the whole AI being trained on fanfic thing and I’m sure there are parts of my own fics that use those particular things that are common in AI writing, but if you’re using it to write blocks of text it’s usually fairly noticeable. If you’re any good at recognising patterns, you can usually get the vibes. I never read any of the popular RS/MM fics, I think a lot of them were coming out when the fandom was starting to piss me off. Apparently people were claiming it was AI, but getting attacked for it. I can’t speak for other fandoms but it makes sense to me that someone would jump on the MM trend like this with the way it exploded in popularity. Still, there are other well known super long and popular RS which currently aren’t known to use AI.>>4049785Yeah… it’s a massive thing. And I believe they’re trying to find ways of doing similar for other AI generators. This is such a dumb thing though, I tried it myself for science. I got Claude to generate a story and pasted it into ao3 and it’s right there in the html. I get that it’s tough to write so much consistently with fans being demanding and all that, but getting caught out like that is so funny. I usually spot a word or phrase that doesn’t make sense a few times and go back and fix it, but I guess you don’t have to worry about that if you’re writing with “perfect” AI.
>>4049833I'm a little torn to be fair. On one hand it is a bit humorous to see so many 'fuck ai' people get caught, but on the other hand I'm not a fan of witch hunts. At the end of the day AO3 does allow ai generated content, so it's ultimately a tagging issue. And then where do we draw the line at 'ai usage'? Because apparently some people use Claude to help code/translate and run grammar checks, but get flagged anyway? I don't think that should be lumped in with 'Claude, write me a story about XYZ'. Truthfully I can't be arsed to learn how to use ai past roleplays. I'm no longer in uni and my work outside is in the field so Claude/Grok/GPT 'assistants' are of no use to me. C.ai? Now that's different, heh.
>>4049845I’m with you on the witch hunts. To be honest this method is going to be impossible to use to detect AI usage going forward because everyone is publicly talking about how it works. All you have to do is paste it into a google doc first before you put it into ao3. Those who haven’t been caught yet can just edit their works. There are other tools like Grammarly that do get flagged as AI, even when they aren’t generative in nature. For a lot of people though the use of all AI is just plain bad. Personally, I could very well end up working in a field where AI is used. At the end of the day it’s just a tool, you can use it to detect cancers that a human doctor might miss or you can use it to generate a thousands images of you as a Studio Ghibli character for fun. I don’t really care if someone uses it to write a fic, but they should be tagging it, but if they think they can get away with it they won’t because of how much people are against it. There’s no way that RS fic would have the second highest amount of kudos for that ship if everyone knew they were using Claude from the get go.
>>4049861So I'm actually incredibly liberal with ai, and I do see the moralizing around it to be just a new form of virtue signaling despite its negative consequences on things like the environment and such. Most normies don't actually care about that to be frank, it's just an avenue to feel virtuous. It's a tool, no different than any other. In the realms of fanfiction I'm not super stringent because fanfic is already derivative work in and of itself. Used c.ai to come up with a cool story? Awesome, me too, lots of us have. Used Grammerly to translate a fic into a language you don't speak? Great. Used GPT to research a time period for your fic? Cool. None of these things are really ai generated, as long as someone isn't copy/pasting whole paragraphs I couldn't care less if a sentence or two per chapter is ai. Fanfic is already the junkfood of the literary world. People acting like it's not are a bit pretentious lol. I do think people should tag it better, and cite it as inspiration in author notes depending, but that's asking a lot and as long as ai is treated as the next Hitler people will be weird about it.
>>4049866Seeing as how there are published authors who are making money off AI generated work, using it for fanfiction seems kind of tame in comparison. The problem is laziness, the desire for instant success, and an unwillingness to learn. It’s like when using Wikipedia was the worst thing you could do. Yes, you can go there and copy an article and submit it as your own work. But you could also use that article along with critical thinking, and research further using the sources that it lists. Both are using Wikipedia, but are both ways bad? The problem with tagging it is that you’ll probably get cancelled if your fic gets any kind of traction, or it’ll be ignored and called slop. Which I have to imagine if you’re using AI extensively, is the opposite of what you want. Someone said the RS fic was being written at a rate of 10k words a day at some point, which if true, certainly puts my 6k words to shame. I could possibly do that if I just sat down and spammed words on a page, but it wouldn’t be anything close to a polished story ready to be uploaded. Like with everything, it requires the nuance that people seem to be allergic to these days.
>>4049785Wait what
>>4049913https://x.com/heatedrivalryai/status/2071719219960426605This sums it up, there’s a doc as well with some of the fics found to have text copied straight from Claude. But yeah, there’s some big fics that are implicated.
>>4049915Damn, thankfully none of my fav fics are there
>>4049917That’s good. Apparently the author of the RS fic made a post on discord saying they didn’t use AI, and that they’re deleting the fic and leaving the fandom. Probably for the best, at this point.
>>4049918They are gonna get a mob even if they didn’t use ai, so it’s for the best
>>4049919The thing is, the proof is pretty definitive. It’s there in the html, there’s no reason to have the Claude response code there unless you copied it from Claude so denying it is kind of dumb. It’s not like someone just put it through one of those AI detectors. Most authors are saying that they only used it for grammar checks and that kind of thing, from what I’ve seen. But yeah, the consensus is that any use of generative AI makes you the worst person ever, and people are probably being dogpiled over it.Anyway this image is 100% AI from c.ai, please don’t cancel me.
>>4049921It’s a funny situation. That’s some deer abuse though! No hypno for deer!
>>4049940It’s from a chat where he starts off hypnotised, the bot just decided he still looks like that even though I snapped him out of it. Plus I’m supposed to be the one in the wheelchair. Basically Vox hypnotised him before he got free, then mind controlled him to attack everyone, but I saved him getting kidnapped and tortured by Vox in the process. Eventually Alastor saved me but I got hurt pretty badly. Now he’s helping me heal, and we’re bonding over our Vox-induced trauma.
>>4049946The generator fucking up, but it getting most of the details is impressive, you save deer deer save you, cute little fic!
>>4049949Yeah, I’m not sure where it got the outfit from, but it’s kind of funny. It’s been nice, he just kissed me for the first time and cried. Also Tia’s merch just dropped and this standee is so good.
>>4049869>The problem is laziness, the desire for instant success, and an unwillingness to learn. This is the main issue. Most of the stories where people got caught were in very popular fandoms amongst the most popular ships, it's almost as if someone saw an opening and tried to exploit it. I dunno, if you're pushing out 10k words per chapter that would tell me that you're writing almost none of it yourself. My fic was almost beat for beat the same plot wise as my c.ai rp up until around chapter 6 where it diverged hard. Even with a plot line already mapped out it took me weeks at writing 2k words per chapter because I wanted to incorporate all of that flowery metaphorical stuff and not just rewrite a self indulgent fap fic. Someone would have to be a proper NEET to be pushing those numbers daily and it still being perfectly edited. Hell, I'm STILL editing mine because I'm never satisfied. As far as tagging is concerned, we're still in the early days of ai, I think as time progresses people won't care as much about ai being used for practical purposes. No different than when digital cameras and art programs came on the scene. People just accepted them as tools and we moved on. As long as the ai isn't doing more than being a glorified writing prompt or grammar checker people will eventually be fine imo. If anything this shows us how widespread its usage already is. I do expect transparency though, at least to some extent. For example, I made it clear in my author notes that mine was inspired by c.ai despite me writing it all myself, it's easy enough to do.
Also fuck traveling. My ass is tired.
Did manage a stupid smug human from a screenshot tho. I need to draw something again.
>>4049965I gotta draw more too. He looks good!>>4049963Traveling takes alot out of you>>4049960Awww poor baby loves ya
>>4049962Yeah, it likes decidedly like someone jumping in a trend just for kudos and attention. So lame. I never read The Rerun because I don’t care for MM, but I know a lot of people who were devastated about it. It’s weird because the Claude thing only shows up for parts of it. Though maybe they used AI for other parts, but decided not to just copy and paste them in. Oh well, I downloaded the fic for posterity. I don’t think any other big Hazbin fics have been mentioned, so that’s good, I guess.>>4049965Smug bastard. He’s cute.
>>4049969We'll see going forward. At some point people will make skins to detect Grok, GPT, c.ai, all of that. The future will be wild.He is a cutie. :3
>>4049973>>4049973>>4049973
