Mostly the focus was on Mulan figuring out how to find the confidence to do things her own way even if it was against the society's expectations. Gaining the interest of Shang was just a nice little bonus.I think Mulan has a nice balance of action, comedy, drama and nice songs. Herc has its moments too, but Mulan is easily one of my favorite Disney movies.
