What went wrong?
>>151899986Got big early when there was a lack of competition, thought that meant they had the market on lockdown and could dictate how things were run, newcomers with better business practices ripped talent and licensing out from under them, attempted to push adjacent product on an uninterested market audience, and finally publishers took note of the expanding US market and started making their own inroads and cutting distribution deals themselves.
From my own observation, it seems like they started with licenses and then wanted to move on to originals, which ended up being the worst kind of Deviant Art "how to draw manga" webcomic slop. I didn't even know they licensed manga until recently, I always associated them with "American manga".
>>151903291They had some big licenses back in the early to mid 2000s - Fruits Basket, .hack, Sailor Moon and Love Hina off the top of my head.
>>151900006Jeez.

80s Lobo > 90s Lobo (Comics) > 90s Lobo (DCAU) >>> anything after
>>151905477Oooo, I haven't seen this one.
>>151906241Character design was 10/10 but he was nerfed too much for this be considered a good version, let alone the best.
Last one of the year, but still here, still froggy
Is it fair to say that Sprig and Ivy are the two most heterosexual characters in the show?
>>151903084Kinda gross to imagine making your frog wife cum and she just sprays sticky, gooey eggs all over you and the opposite wall with a dumb look on her face.
On this day, December 27th, Cartoon Network aired the premiere of one of the best cartoons of the 2000s and the most popular show in CN's ongoing block at the time.Happy anniversary to Ben 10!

>>151893801Ben 10's time is not coming. Right now would be prime nostalgia time and it's not happening. Look at ATLA.
>>151906938I mean, they're making a Ben 10 comic.
>>151904367>>151906380Real world wonders. The kind of thing that might inspire your aliens. Great fiction is born because people take interest in real life and become inspired.

Was he really that bad as Two Face?I feel like Sugar and Spice were cool henchwomen, wish they’d gotten used more
>>151904532>I feel like after Tim got out of making batmans, a lot of the big actors they brought in secretly wanted to do big budget adam west like batman movies and weren't really interested in the 89 batman or BTAS vibe.can you blame them? adam west batman was the super smash bros of /tv/
>>151903209That is interesting of course if it had gone either way these days all the culture war grifters would have thrown a shitfit
>>151907966He was playing Richard Widmark.Supposedly Gorshin used to fill in when Widmark was too drunk to loop his own doalogue. Also Gorshin could allegedly light a cigarette and suck it down to the filter in one breath. Not relevant but it’s the only other interesting thing I know about him.
>>151908034the only reason the country is so divided today is because of bad faith actors from china and russia trying to separate americans. and it worked. the internet, and american culture was better before we had to share internet space with these agents
>>151904875I can see that resemblance. Maybe thats why i always thought she looks familiar.
Why do male homos respect their audience and not insert their sexuality in their work, while lesbian artists will force you their sick behavior in comics and cartoons, especially those aimed at children?
>>151907266>>151907143>>151907162Jesus will kill you when he comes back.
>>151907511>It's turned into a trannie fetishYea, I think this is the main reason. The only people who don't realize this are the ones who have the fetish and have blinders on because they're in denial, or self-hating trannies who know that being associated with trannies outside of circles they control tends to cause problems.
>>151907017>Why do male homos respect their audience and not insert their sexuality in their workYou're not paying attention to what they're doing to DC and Marvel comics, are you?
>>151907017>one gay person does x so that means every gay person acts the same wayOkay, fuckface
Fags are worse because they pretend they know what's best for everyone while being just as misogynistic as straight men it's just presented with a limp wrist like a wolf in sheep's clothing
Given the age of this show now, how were you first aware of it (if at all?) I'm old enough to have watched it in syndication, and this was after having watched the 90s show when I was very young, so I was a huge fan of both.Do you think it holds up?
>>151906412Yeh
Why didn't he stop Nathan?
>>151905779>>151906246It makes for fun little details. Watch Abaddon reacting to Katherine and Nathan discussing his eccentricities and Nathan correcting her that he's only afraid of the wooden wind chimes in the possession episode.
>>151906370they usually do get some clothing damage though. and superman explicitly has a small forcefield, hence the skintight outfit.>>151906457also makes for good rewatchin!
>>151906370They should really touch up on the issue by having Abbadon do some spell that makes the clothes regenerate and him explain that it is actually a form of armor that is a part of his body
>>151907441yeah it makes sense he'd have learned Piccolo's clothes-beam technique. After people kept ostracizing him and he genuinely couldnt remember if he had clothes on or not because what the fuck are clothes
We know he gets washed off in the sink
Harvest for fresh Teri content has arrived.

>>151907891Gross.
Is Spider-Man more fun to read than Batman?
>>151902183I feel like they're both kind of boring. Batman and Spidey have the same “broad appeal” problem. Which is even worse on Spidey's side since Spider-Man apparently lacks classics. But his expies kind of count as Spidey stories we wanted to be written. Since he embodies the madcap hero archetype that was so popular during the 80s and 90s. With characters like Zenith, Static, Ditko Speedball, Mad Men, etc... they're all “dream” stories with Spidey, who seems to have nothing better than the Lee-Ditko run. Batman already has more classics that I've noticed are less about Batman and more about his villains. A boring character. Like a detective caper, he looks in the background, but unlike Raymond Chandler's character, he doesn't interact with the plot and doesn't embody much of the genre's ideas. I feel that the Batman movie does a good job of building the character. Parodies, deconstructions, or expies are also generally better at giving him a personality and believable dilemmas, unlike the Batman books. Like Year One is the Gordon book with a rich guy dressed as a bat beating up thugs and cops.
>>151907843>Since he embodies the madcap hero archetypeWrong.
>>151905872Spider-Man hasn't had a civilian life for the better part of the last 20 years and he has never been more boring.
>>151904140That's a lot of one-track internal monologue
>>151908026Not necessarily, specially when you have a big supporting cast. But whatever, now both of them suck
I'm just a rag dolly...
>>151902697I suppose it's because rag dolls are imagined as being soft like their stuffing.

>>151903540Taylor referenced it a few times in his Titans, but I've never seen it come up anywhere else. When did Donna get the Lasso of Persuasion?
>>151905247I think Donna started using a lasso again during the Heinberg run when she was briefly Wonder WomanAnd then at some point after that she switched to a silver lassoBut it wasn't named as the Lasso of Persuasion until she joined the Justice League under Robinson. He explained what it does, but he didn't say where it came from
>>151905534Donna > Diana > CassieWhy is Cassie's some gross pink/bronze fusion?
>>151906227Rose gold?
>>151905534why didn't Diana imagine the Wonder Girls in their armors when she fought Lobo?
