>>151954495Not him but You'd think that a board full of pseud 20 and 30-somethings would get a clue about this basic rule of animation as a sellable product in the west. Disney doesn't give a shit about the small percentage of their audience that are adults, they're targeting children
>>151954526/co/ is amazingly both the most passionate and the most clueless about animation and its fucking astounding to witness. people here will write paragraph long posts ranting about an industry they have zero understanding of and treat their word as fact. why are cartoon autists specifically like this?
>>151954554Hyperfixation on personal fantasy, I guess. It's an issue you notice everywhere if you pay attention
>>151954565WIth respect to Walt, he said that in the context of the early 20th century. Kids ask their parents to buy them movie tickets and merchandise, and that's the main business model (I assume). He was talking as if the appreciation for the art would persist, and soulless corporatiziation wouldn't take over the industry. Children still dominate the market by having sway over their parents, and as such, marketing to children is the main thrust of things, so ultimatley the target is children. And now all those posts are [Deleted] by a janitor.
>>151951320this one was actually good so no one fought it
>DC currently raping them with DC KO and the Absolute Universe>Image and the Energon Universe is killing it>No one cares about One World Under Doom, despite it being a blatant brand synergy attempt/advertisement for Avengers Doomsday>Age of Revelation is horrid and killed the X-men brand>Spider-man is in the toilet>No one cares about the current Avengers or F4 runs>Killed the Ultimate Universe for no real reason, but it wasn't really all that good anyway>Sales fallen off a cliffHow would you fix them /co/? Is it finally time for a company reboot?
>>151954872Why bother? If you're gonna remove OMD that basically removes a ton of history and other effects it could have had on the 616. Best to just pick an event that impacts everyone in some form and erase that so the whole 616 is fixed and everything is streamlined and kino.
>>151955067I don't know much about Dr. Strange, but all of the 60s topical references were replaced by modern ones or made up ones. For example, the Punisher and Flash Thompson were in a fictional war with a made up country, not Vietnam.
>>151943212>>151943188You like Loki, right? Why would a fan of Loki hate mythology and magic? Loki’s whole thing is being a magic using mythological god.
>>151955067>I think it’s because he can’t age? Correct me if im wrong. I just remember hearing this and seeing comics confirm it.Yeah that's basically it. If you look at Marvel: The Lost Generation, Byrne and Stern were trying to fill in the gaps created by the continuous sliding timeline, and they still kept Doctor Strange active around the 1950s
>>151909997You can't save either one & they don't deserve it. Neither put in the effort of stories over pushing a narrative. Can't even hire good artists because they either don't want to work for them or they're dead.
Last one of the year, but still here, still froggy
>>151955586Them's fightin' words.
>>151928393It certainly doesn't help that any Amphibia thread that's not Froggy Friday gets invaded by that one autist who shit-talks Owl House and then spams 300 pictures of Sashanne. It's hard to thrive against autism like that. I wish he would just move on to a new show, like a normal person.
>>151930075It's fucking hilarious that the schizo Indian is touting his fanfiction while his thread is just as dead as absolute state of his canceled show. Amphibia eternally mogging the Owl House just by existing has done irreparable damage to owlfags.
It's not yet 2026 in my time zone, so let's let the New Year c'mon in!Anyone got any New Year's Resolutions?

>>151956260It was a fun place for the few people that fell through the cracks and needed a place unlike any place else. I've met good and bad people here, and I wouldn't give up those years for anything. The site's seen better days and if you end up in a better place, I'd be happy for you.
Comfy snowy and Christmasy.
I wish Eugene had a bigger role in Tangled.
>>151955061Some of the filler episodes like hook brothers should've been cut for more stuff getting into Eugene's past like the Stalyan episode. Maybe have him end up alone with Hector in the episode after the great tree to get a hint at his past when the crazy beastmaster lets him go.
>>151955006Well that’s on Cass for declining the threesome
>>151949893Beautiful.
>>151835257Happy New Year anon, may this next year have a lot more Punzie!
An awful year for animation and the industry. More shit, more layoffs, rising threat of ai sloppa. What did you enjoy/dislike that came out this year? For me, it's Genndy Tartakovsky's dog sex movie
>>151955099>Wylde PakIt's a shame that show's pretty much confirmed to be ending

>>151955722There is a very strong implication in this post
>>151955981Damn, The show just aired not so long ago and its on it's way out.
>>151955099>Fixed was great.False
It is the final Gwensday thread of the year, and 2025 was a big year for Gwenpool. It was the 10th anniversary of the Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars variant that Gwen first appeared on, and it was the 10th anniversary of her first in comic appearance in her Howard the Duck back-ups. Gwen even got another mini-series this year on top of her occasional appearances in It's Jeff. Was 2025 a good year for Gwenpool? Will Marvel do anything in 2026 for the 10th anniversary of The Unbelievable Gwenpool?
>>151946421>Was 2025 a good year for Gwenpool? Not particularly, which is especially a shame given as you said it was the 10th anniversary of both her first comic cover and her first true appearance. She at least got A run out of it, which is more than what could be said in recent years, but the Dark Gwenpool arc was a mixed bag to say the least. It was overall better than Love Unlimited but, but that is such a low bar to clear it's barely worth mentioning. I do not know if I would even put it above GSB, it had its moments and some neat ideas but not at lot of it was executed that well. It's been so long since it wrapped up I'd have to review my notes but given Gwenlok has already been fixed (thank God) and Clone Gwen #35 hasn't reappeared since I think that speaks to how memorable it was.She at least had a few better appearances, she of course was featured in Jeff the Land Shark's comic with better (if simpler) writing, and it continues to be funny/sad how Gwen seems to be handing onto her pet shark as a life-raft of relevancy. And for those uanware she also appeared in the Winter Break special of just last week as the photographer of the shoot, which was a nice surprise but really lame she herself didn't get to participate in the cheesecake>Will Marvel do anything in 2026 for the 10th anniversary of The Unbelievable Gwenpool? One can only hope. I will always hold out that Gwen will have a better run one of these years and the 10th anniversary of Unbelievable is at least as worthwhile as the anniversary of her initial appearance, but given Marvel seems set only giving her one run every few years it seems unlikely. And then if they do give her a run I just hope they finally get the right writer who actually gets Gwen, this year's run was definitely better than the last one but still not a high mark and I can only hope there's more upward momentum.
>>151954637I should also mention 2026 already looks like it'll be a dry year for her based on upcoming summaries of the Superman/Spider-Man crossover. It seemed like a perfect opportunity for Superboy Prime and Gwenpool to meet, the two 'Person from IRL gets transported to the world of comic' characters seems like a perfect match, but Prime is already set to instead pair up with Black Suit Peter. Maybe Gwen isn't quite Spidey related enough due to not technically being a Gwen Stacy but it still feels like a missed opportunity.
>>151954672I hope they still at least due a cover of Prime/Gwen together, even better if done by Gurihiru If I got that out of this whole exchange I'd be happy.
Happy New Year's Gwenbros
>>151952497Honestly feel like it could work if it was hasting writing it as kind of was the main theme of her og comic just felt like he did it better by showing her being a bit of a bratty girl boss quirky dumbass first
Was this her year?

ITT: Scenes that you're still upset about
>>151945964I'm so fucking tired of Regular show's shipfags. You make such a huge deal out of it that someone who's never seen the show would think the romances are a huge aspect of the show when really they're not at all. The show in general doesn't have much of a plot and is not meant to be taken seriously. Characters like Margaret and CJ are only there to emulate episodic plots of love troubles that 20-somethings have because the whole show is basically just life in your 20s in a cartoonish way. No one gives a crap about what Mordecai dif to some girl he's still a very funny and likeable character
>>151955298He’s annoying and I never really liked his character to begin with. Rigby only got better in comparison.
>>151933756Of all the characters they could have given a spinoff to, they chose the worst character in the show
>>151938654>what's the point of this comic? I didn't understand it, I think it's some kind of metaphorWelcome to French comics, anon.
>>151954588>father comes back with 10+ years having passed>his wife has died and his son has been fending for himself this entire time>this leads him to blame Morty for him not being there for his family>next time Morty shows up, the father is hostile and attacks him>scene plays out like normalNot a big deal since it’s just a setup for a joke plot anyway. But it wasn’t that hard to fix either
