Valentino appreciation thread <3
Cute pose.
>movie is supposedly lamenting the decline of public transit in favor of cars and the interstate>outside of maybe two scenes at the very beginning eddie never takes the trolley and is always seen using a taxi
>>152107788Yeah, you use it for commuting and chores like shopping and getting downtown or to leisure activities (the bulk of what people do), not gumshoeing. Delivery drivers aren't going to be taking it either.
>>152107788Hence it is inherently the inferior form of transportationYou are only able to go to locations where there are rail lines (which were more expensive to make than pavement) and can only stop at specified locations, at best you have that line you can pull to request a stop, you are at the mercy of someone else's predetermined schedule and have to account for other people's required stopsCompared to having much more freedom in movement, the ability to go whenever you want, in usually a much shorter period of time, maybe you'd have to deal with traffic if your city's retarded or it's a bad time of day, but you don't miss your chance or have to wait for another bus/tram if you're lateYou have to be legitimately autistic to think trams are superior
>>152107863Do what you want. It's your money.
>>152107863Was this thread just your excuse to have an /n/ vs /o/ debate on /co/? Why? You could go to /o/ if you want validation or you could go to /n/ if you want to hear actual arguments in favor of public transport, but you decided the best place to do this was the comics and cartoons board. You are a faggot and you do not deserve serious responses.
Whatever. The transport part of the movie is lame discussion. What are your pitches for another type of this movie, pitting live action protag against toon or animated protag? Personally, a 00's Nick/CN/Disney crossover would have been kino. That or a 50's sequel to the OG Roger Rabbit. Maybe freeways aren't as big as a deal in this timeline because of the ending of the first, or toon cars stretch over roads and helps solve traffic. The acceptance of toons also means minorities are accepted mostly but there are still some underlying prejudice there. Perhaps one of the villains is trying to revive some movement. Roger is struggling with the 50's humor being more parodic, family sitcoms/soap operas, and people like Chuck Jone's humor superseding the over-the-top zaniness and slapstick that he is good at. I guess as part of this pitch, Eddie would have to be recast. Or not, I dunno. My last pitch would be a collection of internet and recent cartoons as well. Probably some sort of teen who has to go to a school filled with these underground cartoon characters and has to act as the goofy one compared to the internet characters who are all hyperreal or "relateable."Finally, which is the better short, Rollercoaster Rabbit or Tummy Trouble? Tummy has a better budget from the looks of the cels and the slapstick in it but Rollercoaster seems a bit more ambitious and is a bit more funny writing wise. I guess Rollercoaster is more impressive and fun to me.
>Captain Amazing, hero of Metro City, is so busy catching criminals that he rarely has time for his pets at home. He doesn't even notice when they develop superpowers of their own. when he announces that he needs a sidekick, his dog, hamster, and chameleon each decide to audition. But with each pet determined to win the sidekick position, the biggest battle in Metro City might just be at the Captain's house.
>>152105767Now what kind of superhero takes the villain AND the money?

Is it possible to make a non-terrible event comic?
>>152100036In general i think DC has better events than Marvel.
>>152106073dc pretending the lantern corps is relevant was funny

So why did Jordan decide the guy who sexually assaulted him in a bowling alley bathroom would make a good wingman for his fraudulent double not-a-date scheme? Is he hoping Paulo will give him pointers on how to successfully intimidate the poor girl?>Paulo, how do I win over Tiff when she keeps saying she doesn't want to date me and telling me to stop asking?>You should get her alone and keep her phone away when you ask. That way she'll realize that she can't say no, because of The Implication.>That sounds kind of dark. What "implication"?>No no no, it's not dark at all. Remember when we were in the bathroom together? You may have WANTED to say no, but we were alone, so in the back of your mind there was The Implication.>...The Implication that you weren't going to stop?>Right! Obviously once you said no, nothing happened, just like nothing's going to happen to Tiff if she says no. But she doesn't know that!
>>152107759Jordan was too stupid to recognize he was being sexually harassed and the comic does not acknowledge what Paulo pulled because he's a designated golden boy.
GIVE ME YOUR FACE
>>152107473You misunderstand bay decepticons. They're not other soldiers fighting for their own cause. They're all literal demons that want nothing more to flay the skin off every individual person because they can. The fallen was going to delete the sun over every other star in space for no other reason than spite and you're surprised that Optimus lost all patience for them and replaced it with raw hatred?
>>152107718I guess I'd also be surprised if, during the second coming, Jesus tore Satan's scrotum off and used it as a hackysack. Like, it's a bit extra, isn't it? Especially from our compassionate paragon of virtue, forced to take to the sword to save all mankind. Just wouldn't see him as the type, makes me look at him different and not in a good way.I get y'all are saying it's part of a greater arc. But as someone who stopped watching at that movie, it was too much too soon.
>>152107616To be fair, I can see Obama hating Optimus.
>>152107718Yet despite all that, apparently humans are ok with imprisoning Decepticons in TLK. Lol, in Bayformers humans show more mercy to Cons than the Autobots do.
>>152107853I think it's mainly because the humans stand to gain something from that rather than any sort of altruism - in the first film basically every advancement of the modern age is owed to reverse engineering shit from Megatron. Those imprisoned 'cons would've been cut up and dissected for more tech.
>didn't return for the revivalI'm still mad.
>>152095904>>152097570>Makes Tobias who is instantly more of a bro and a better friend to Darwin than Gumball is>oh shit we can't have that! delete his screentime>Makes Rachel who has immediate chemistry and charisma>oh shit we can't have that, we need people to focus entirely on the Wattersons and Penny! retcon her!The crew's hatred towards the Wilsons needs to be studied.
>>152098269If only she had return, I think should be a great member part of nude club. It will give her some true motive when you rewrite her.

>>152104245>Makes Tobias who is instantly more of a bro and a better friend to Darwin than Gumball isLooking back through the lens of Murder Drones where a token jock character is depicted as sociable and outgoing, it's fucking wild how Ben quickly fell back to industry standard of writing such characters as self-serving and deeply insecure retards.
>DVD commentary for Lisa The Greek>Mike Reiss: There was one time when we were going to have Homer strangle Lisa but we just couldn't do it. She's too sweet.
>>152098328She WAS too sweet, this was before the vegetarian shit
>>152100845Come back to me when you can actually generate AI in the show's art style not this stupid 3D crap pajeet
>>152101056I think they kept a good balance between her being a goody two shoes genius and sometimes going along with Bart's pranks. If she was just a girl Bart the family would be way more boring. It's only in the latter part of the classic era when they really lean into her preachiness
>>152105105What people miss is that lisa is as flawed as her family. She isnt classicaly dumb like bart and homer but she's just as grating and obnoxious as they are. We love bart and homer despite their problems. We can love lisa too.The cintention reslly is if the writers seem to be telling us in the audience>lisa is right and everyone else is wrong

It's honestly kinda baffling how people view this as a high water mark of excellence, when in reality it's extremely stereotypically 80's.>not a single good face or drawing>conforms to janky on-model nonsense that's loved by executives>the average episode plot: saturday morning drivel. because, surprise surprise, it's a "writer driven" show>but wait, it does have good animation... for 2-3 minutes of the whole show in 1 or 2 episodes (huge 80s-ism)>it wasn't created to sell toys though!!!!!!!
>>152105413Because it it, it's one of the TMS masterpieces made during their height (1983-2000).
>>152089081>a high water mark of excellence,Because tv cartoons in the 80s really didn't look all that great for most of the decade. It really was one of the first things that looked pretty good. Around the end of the decade it could be compared to Thundercats etc. But before that there was not a lot of good competition. Even the 80s toy commercials did not look too amazing until 86 or so. But overall it was a decently well made show by people that actually seemed to give a shit about making a decent show. And it was in syndication at the start, not some leftover saturday morning cartoon that was moved to afternoons.
>>152089081Did you know that Huey, Dewey and Louie's names were changed in Russian by Billy, Dilly and Willy? It was made due to Huey's name sounding like a dick (huy) word in Russian, which is obscene word in Russia.
>>152089081>not a single good face or drawingIt's a show about cartoon animals.Good faces will be subjective at best.
>>152107723It had plenty of excellent faces and drawings, this is TMS we're talking about.
