I read the Scorched Earth trade on kindle unlimited and it's a life or death struggle against an invading emperor and it's constantly stopping to LOL GOOFY.

The whole 'Star Metal just sends the Snake men to anpther dimension' thing was kind of contrived but I guess it was a necessity to allow the heroes to wield swords and other bladed weapons but not actually hurt anybody. Also liked that this was one of the few 80's cartoons that not only had good continuity but actually resolved the ongoing plot at the end.
