Vaggie just uselessly stabs at the thing (instead of them putting a scene that emphasizes the machine is indestructible or that cutting cables might make things worse), Alastor is literally tied up for how many episodes and Lucifer got nuked big time and was stupid enough just to waltz into the trap (oh man I guess we know where Charlie gets it from). Charlie spends the entire season just trying to get people to listen and believe that redemption is possible; and she does. That was her job.
