I loved it as a teen. It being entirely designed to be the sort of thing teens would love that's not terribly surprising. Pretty sure some of it won't hold up just because it's no longer as edgy to call out american imperilism with a katana folded 9000 times.It does have a decent mystery that winds up being solved in a satisfying way so hopefully that bit is timeless. I remember they mentioned in a blog post that Robin Williams bought a copy since he was also into Evangelion style anime.
