Effectively Jake is the reason why any of F&C manifests at all. In-canon universe it was Prismo who explains that when Ice King loses his magic that's when Fionna world stopped being magic. But Ice King didn't choose to lose his powers it just kinda happened inside Golb. So my only remaining question is what's Simon's actual alternate reality version like? Ice Queen seems to have little to no influence on the plot and feels entirely underwritten for what her trauma could be. She groomed marshall lee but that's about it and I'm baffled when trying to align the two Ice incarnations under a single continuum. gave Winter King more runtime than Ice Queen ffs
