I'm pretty sure this is the first time Ook and Gluk has been storytimed on 4chan. I think it's one of Dav's best, and he obviously thought the same for a time, calling it one of his favorite books in an interview I tracked down. "It's the one that's closest to my heart." In an amazing case of irony, he was being interviewed as part of a series spotlighting YA authors who were victims of censorship, and was printed the same year as the Ook and Gluk controversy. So almost everything he says in it reads contradictory today. Pretty interesting. He's an actual kung fu instructor, and his appearance/style of speaking is identical to the sort of action movies taking place in old-timey China that everyone knew as a kid. To point at these pages and say "oh, so this is what Dav Pilkey thinks Chinese people are like, huh?" requires purposefully ignoring every convenient piece of context. Stereotypes are rooted in history and many of them are derived from truth, it's them being used to fuel prejudice that should be confronted.
