These shows were shit and only stayed in any kind of public consciousness through combination of association with Daredevil which was actually decent, Disney+ shit somehow being a lot worse and nostalgia.
>Daredevil
Basically carries the entire lineup on its shoulders and is actually entertaining, but far from perfect. (I don't care what anybody says, season 2 is shit, Hand is boring and Burn Local will never be a good Punisher.)
>Jessica Jones
Boring trash. Dull to watch, lame overhyped villain who feels more like a joke than a serious threat, runs on contrived coincidences and
Also doesn't work either as "noir detective story" because there's barely any detective stuff and pretty much every twist is painfully predictable and telegraphed nor as a "psychological thriller" because there's barely any suspense.
>Luke Cage
The second best show in the line-up and it's still pretty middling and generally boring outside of few specific moments and characters. Gonna give it credit, though. Cottonmouth and Bushmaster were genuinely cool villains.
>Iron Fist
Two words: Scott Buck.
>The Punisher
Awful. Somehow even more of an in-name only adaptation than the Lundgren movie (b-but muh skull shirt) and is certainly nowhere near as entertaining
>Defenders

>Defenders
Middling slop that's about as interesting as watching the paint dry. The fact that Netflix thought it would be some kind of epic Avengers-level crossover is honestly hilarious to me.

The first half of the Luke Cage show was OK, considering they turned him from Harlem Unc to southern preacher's son.

Yeah, that was stupid.
Same as getting a guy who thinks that he's too good to be playing a capeshit character, which results in his performance being extremely boring to watch.
The show still somehow manages to get some good moments despite that.

Mildly agree, I think things would have gone better had Marvel Studios been more supportive sooner, and most of the characters folded under the Daredevil (Punisher had already been given enough exploration there) and Luke Cage ( the brief cameos with Danny and Colleen did more with less compared to all their focus in Iron Fist) shows to keep things focused.

The oddball would be Jessica Jones, I know which show Bendis would prefer her in, but her character and story would stick out too much in either.

Also I usually scoff at people wanting fantastic elements toned down, but I don't feel most of the Hand shit really paid off as it was done so I'd have preferred it gutted.

For what it's worth, in Defenders The Hand "ninjas" were just generic street clothes thugs with knives and they were still boring so it's not just the fantastical elements that don't work about them.
I feel like Jessica Jones could've worked if they
1. Make it more episodic, case per episode kind of deal. Actually make it m
2. Go all out on Purple Man being a nightmarish monster. The way he was actually portrayed was closer to a goofy idiot/punching bag who only succeeds because everybody is too fucking stupid. In fact, up the horror 1000%
I'm also not a fan of David Tennant, I think he's way too goofy.

*make it more like a detective story
Fuck is wrong with me today, kek.

>introduce magical ninjas in bright red outfits
>NOOOO IRON FIST WEARING HIS SUIT IS TOO FAR
>even though you could easily bullshit as ceremonial garb or something
Still pisses me off.

Casual reminder that Bernthal Punisher let a literal child pornographer go in his own series.
