Is Iyanu any good? It came out months ago and I don't know if I've ever seen /co/ talk about it. Why not?
>>150097338When this was announced, I actually thought it was the most interesting one of the upcomings... it took so fucking long to come out, I forgot about it.
>>150097363released on schedule in black people time
>>150097338Looks mid.
>>150097338Okay I just watched the first five minutes and this show is not good. It has bad writing, bad animation, and bad acting. I definitely understand why no one ever talks about this show. I won't talk about it either from now on.
>>150097338I wouldn't know. Haven't seen it yet.
>>150097338as a white guy, i won't comment about this. i will shut up and let my fellow colored friends share their valid thoughts to not take their place
>>150097338I want the europeans to show up.>>150098858kek
>>150097338it's so boring and not because it's african oriented but the quality in animation is too poor and the writing is bad, it's like they expect us to be already impressed because it's using african culture (stealing wakanda concept) instead of being genuine about it. Avatar manage to tell an original story by taking inspiration from eastern cultures and i see that they failed to do that
>>150097338Nope!
>>150097338s'okay
>>150097338Its decent
>>150100833It is?
>>150102477Well, it is their first time. I'd say read the original graphic novel.
>>150099068>>150097338I watched half the first episode. Then I quit. I didn't even like Black Panther very much. I don't like "afro-fantasy" and "afro-futurism." It seems like a mish mash of accents, culture, and lore from all across the entire continent of Africa, as well as the US and the Caribbean. And then just put together poorly and we're supposed to pretend this isn't another Black Panther ripoff. And Iyanu and Iwaju are two different shows, even though they both sound the same and are both about the same thing. If they really wanted to make a black cartoon. I'd be more interested in something like a cartoon set in modern day Jamaica about voodoo, weed, reggae, and exploring the jungles. Instead of trying to use lore, accents, and culture from various places in Africa, the Caribbean, and the US. I'd rather just have the show focus on only one city.

>>150104338>I don't like "afro-fantasy" and "afro-futurism." It seems like a mish mash of accents, culture, and lore from all across the entire continent of AfricaBecause the desire for this stuff isn't actually about Africans. It's about African-Americans, who frequently don't care about details like Culture A being different from Culture B, because it's all BLACK isn't it?!
>>150104730ironic since africans themselves discriminate against each other with the tribe bullshit, since they are all black they look for certain traits to distinguish each other, even going as far as to put a line just from the place you were born.also fun fact, africans see black americans as white africans.
>>150097380kek
>>150104730Well, this is a fictionalized Africa. And they're producing it with an African studio.

>>150104338God I hate the modern Disney style. Those characters are all so god damn ugly.
>>150097338It’s just another generic action cartoon with that shitty Invincible style, nobody gives a fuck.
