Was 2010-2020 the worst era for animation since the 80s?
>>
Ye
>>
>>150108324
Yes

>Kick Buttowski
>Planet Sheen
>Fish Hooks
>Sidekick
>Scaredy Squirrel
>Problem Solverz
>SMFA
>Rabbids Invasion
>Korra
>Steven Universe
>Amphibia S1
>Nu PPG
>TTG
>Ben 10 2016
>Billy Dilley
>>
All of this started with Ben 10 and none of you niggas will ever admit it.
>>

The 2010’s was similar to the 1950’s in the sense that it wasn’t really a bad era for cartoons in itself, but it felt like more of a downfall. Hannah Barbera and the rise of television animation caused other studios to cheap out with their stiff animation, much like how Adventure Time and Steven Universe caused the beanmouth virus to spread cause it’s cheaper and more "appealing" according to executives.

C’mon Kick Buttowski and Billy Dilly are peak don’t lump them in with PPG 2016.
>>
>>150108324
it was the best, they had continuity and were well written
>>
>>150108532
>Billy Dilly
>peak
what planet are you from? That failed for a reason
>>
>>150108426
It started with My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

>What? Our girl brand is attracting a bunch of boys?
>Quick, feminize all of our cartoons!

They couldn't figure out it was a bunch of horse fuckers, trolls, child molesters, and mental illness on the internet. Everything was ruined as a result.
>>
>>150109027
You're forgetting when they constantly were pushing the idea more women needed to be in animation, and it was too much of a boys club. Despite no evidence of that. Same with the lgbtq agenda push during the time.

Nah I went back and watched some GI Joe. The 80s had it better. The 2010s got like 3-4 years of great cartoons before a Tsunami of Trash irreparably stained all 3 networks. What the hell were they thinking?

Billy Dilly was hated for the same reason Uncle Grandpa was hated, for just being a silly cartoon and not loreshit, it made autistic toon critics seethe hard.

That show was overhated, I’m a fan of Aaron Springers charming simplistic artstyle, I’d love to see more shows made by SpongeBob alumni

Kids got bullied for watching Uncle Grandpa.

Why did you drop peak in a list of bad shows?
>>
>>150109631
The Uncle Grandpa crossover is unironically one of the best Steven Universe episodes. It has better comedy that pretty much any other part of the show. The Steven Universe fandom just calls it the "worst episode" because Uncle Grandpa is in it and that's it, their analysis is that surface level.

If anyone is wondering, the actual worse episode is Escapism, because it is a filler lumped right before the last episode that breaks the pacing of the finale completely.
>>
>>150109705
To be fair, Kick Buttowski has a lot of forgettable episodes between the good stuff people remember. For every episode we see him cross a mountain like the god damned DeLorean we have an episode dealing with Gunter's family or whatever the hell.

>Billy Dilly was hated for the same reason Uncle Grandpa was hated
for having an unappealing main character and bland side characters?

I stopped watching CN in 2012 when I moved into my own place for college and didn't feel like paying for an entire cable package I wasn't going to use.

I think it was the right decision.
>>
>>150108324
Take the early 2010s out of this
>>
>>150108324
>>150110524
Yeah, aside from Adventure Time and the like, the early 2010s had pretty good stuff.
>>
>>150108324
Also, the 80s were great for cartoons, so your fag is showing.

I will NEVER love Adventure Time, that show is what brought talentless artists into the industry and made loreshit the norm, that shitty excuse for a cartoon is why animation went downhill in the first place. The early 2010’s had some good shows like Wander Over Yonder and Uncle Grandpa but that era was a downfall of loreshit gradually replacing wacky cartoons.

The only good cartoons made from 2016-now are The Wonderful world of Mickey Mouse, Smiling Friends, and The Patrick Star Show, that’s literally it, that’s the current state of our animation industry all cause normies are retards who consume this corporate slop.

As someone who dislikes the 2010s, 2010-2012 was actually decent for animation. In fact, 2010 alone was an astronomical improvement over 2009. But the momentum didn't stick and by 2013-2014 it was already all over.

I would describe it as a decade of failed potential. A strong start after a terrible 2009 in terms of new cartoons, with Adventure Time, Regular Show, lots of action cartoons, Dan Vs... then a few years later we were stuck with Steven Universe and Teen Titans Go. Legend of Korra falling apart and Adventure Time/Regular Show becoming about romantic drama instead of fun hijinx.
>>
>>150111934
Such as?
>>
>>150108324
Sure. Until next decade, when we claim that the 2020's were the worst, and that the 2010's was a glorious golden age of animation. And so on and so forth. Same as it ever was.

>>150111979
I actually do agree with this, however. 2010-2012 was a strong start to the decade, until the creators of these cartoons left or were driven out, and self-destructive corporate mindsets played out from there. As an aside, while 2009 was indeed bad for animation in television, it was an absurdly stacked year for animated films:
>Coraline
>The Secret of Kells
>Up
>9
>Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs
>Fantastic Mr. Fox
>Afro Samurai Resurrection
>Redline
>Evangelion 2.0 (3.0 fucked it all up but that's not 2.0's fault)
>Where the Wild Things Are (admittedly a stretch)
>The Princess and the Frog
And yet the highest grossing animated film of the year was Ice Age 3
