It isn't funny to be all buddy-buddy with someone and then try to drop them after fearing that things are progressing too smoothly. Jax tried to make Pomni hate him with his entire spiel about how bad he actually is and that he only uses people for entertainment - but he already has shown in prior episodes that he does care enough about others to notice little things about them. Even if it is for "entertainment", he learned about the people he is stuck with and has even shown some remorse for the things going on in their lives. Not that he actually has any part in them being trapped, just that everyone is trapped and he doesn't quite understand why he is the only one treating it like the game that it is. It is clear Pomni has caught onto Jax's act and isn't going to let him wiggle his way out of it - which might be what causes a huge event in the next episode. Forcing Jax to confront the issue instead of just acting aloof may push him over the edge, and he may actually act in an extremely violent way - worse than his usual joke antics because he will have intent to cause real harm.

I had a dream about the next episode of TADC.>Pomni and Ragatha were the main protagonist duo>Jax was starting to show signs of abstraction, symptoms like fits of dizziness and shaking, so Caine locked him in a padded cell for some reason>Pomni and Rags discovered Caine’s weakness (something about them weaponizing their imagination) and their plan was to kill him and end everything once and for all>Caine reacted by tapping into untapped power and getting real big and powerful to fight back>Pomni and Rags (and Gangle w/ her happy mask got involved to help) still managed to overpower Caine, I think at some point giant Caine threw an attack and Pomni stopped it by literally just saying “NO.” so that was pretty metal>Caine got weaker and shrank to normal as he slowly fell apart from whatever the heroes were doing to him>But they were merciful at least, they comforted him in his final moments and it was really sad>By the end of it Jax didn’t abstract yet but there was a shot showing him sitting in front of his door distraught, on the left was Ribbit’s door with the X over it and on the right was Kaufmo’s with the X over it, and this was understood to be foreshadowing that Jax would abstract too. In the dream I showed this to my mom (she’s also a fan of TADC)>There was a less sensible bit somewhere in the middle where Cyrus from Animal Crossing showed up saying he accidentally ate food that was meant for Caine (Caine’s food was different and only suitable for him) and was in physical pain because of it and so Pomni and Rags asked Caine to fix it, but for whatever reason he refused. So Pomni and Rags had to try to fix it themselves without Caine knowing, while also investigating the properties of Caine food to learn more about how he works and therefore his weakness. And for some reason they had to accomplish this by setting up a Caine dummy with fake guts and a fake beating heart to do fake surgery on as a cover for what they were actually doing.
