I could not stand the Joss Whedon shit they did with Shorty in the first half of season 2. Where every time there was a serious moment his annoying faggot ass would undercut it with a joke. I'm almost certain Disney forced them to do that to be more like Gravity Falls. They probably just stuck that in there at the start to make it look like they were doing what they were told knowing Disney wouldn't check the whole rest of it. Yhis is the main reason why season 2 is the worst season. If they ever edit these moments out, the entire Tangled franchise will be flawless.

Varian should have been the dark kingdom's prince and I'm not going to change my mind about that, it has a lot more story potential and ties into his love for the family that he does have and how he did evil for the sake of his family even if it was misguided.Eugene secretly being a prince all along was genuinely an awful decision.

If they were going to elevate any of the Pub Thugs into the main cast for a period it should have been 'Big Nose', the guy practically Oozes gormless sidekick energy whilst at the same time having a number of positive traits he could bring to the team. Shorty was old, drunk, smelly, frail and stupid. I don't think there was anything he meaningfully contributed in any way.
