Is Batman The Long Halloween good?
>>
Read it and form your own opinion

But yes, it is, if you ask me. It'll seem a tad familiar at points, since The Dark Knight takes a fair bit of inspiration from it

its a nice early years story that shows off a lot of batmans supporting cast with great art
>>
>>150113821
I did read it and liked the Halloween aesthetic but also felt it was way too familiar/boring

No. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93VAZVS022I

nice art. loeb is a hack though and its carried by simply ripping godfather, etc off scene for scene. plot makes no fucking sense either if you just think about it. everything just stops month to month/holiday to holiday. like no one interacted or did anything from issue to issue despite 30 days or whatever in between.
>>
>>150113840
Fair, it's a story that's been done more than a few times, and I'd bet that most of us saw it somewhere else before ever reading Long Halloween
>>
>>150113854
Speaking as someone who mostly likes Long Halloween, yeah, the blatantly cheap and corny Godfather references were something to get through when I first read it
>>
I haven't read it in 20 years, but I remember being really disappointed by it after having it built up as a classic Batman story. The mystery makes no sense (like all Loeb mysteries).
>>
I read this and seriously could not understand why this is said to be a top tier batman story. like thats it? How did that push even happen?
>>
>>150113739
I think I prefer Dark Victory
>>
>>150113739
Only contrarians dislike it.
>>
>>150114375
Dark Victory is a better story because it doesn't rely on Godfather references, and uses Robin's origin and arc through the story as the character progression paralleling the plot progression.
>>
>>150114580
The parallel sequence with Alfred consoling Bruce vs consoling Dick is one of my favorite in comics.
>>
>>150114729
Yeah, it's really good. Maybe one of the best things Loeb has ever done.

It has the best Catwoman design
>>
>>150114750
That’s Antwoman
>>
>>150113739
I don't remember being wowed by the story and characters (as I was with Year One or TDKR), but I liked the art a lot.
>>
>>150113739
No, it's simply not good. It does have great art though, so you can just focus on that.
>>
>>150113739
yes
>>
>>150113739
Overrated, but good.

kek

>>150113739
Easily the most overrated Batman story ever.
Also,
>big reveal was super obvious
>Loeb got a ton of "where's the body" mail
>direct to DVD adaptation tried slightly improving this
>can't even tell who the killer anyway because everyone has the same face
lmao
>>
>>150117520
The cartoon adaptation is fucking horrible and you’d have to be sheridan’s faggot ass himself to think it’s in any way good.
>>
>>150117601
If the cartoon adaptation is horrible but at least doesn't pretend Alberto's body vanished, what does that say about the comic?
>>
>>150117633
There is no ‘if’ Tim, your arrogant faggot ass ruined a classic.
>>
>>150113739
It’s good, the ending is disappointing but regardless it’s one of the few comics I couldn’t put down mainly because looking at the art was really addictive, Sale draws really beautiful girls. I wouldn’t expect anything that will change your life but it’s a good read especially if you want an entry point to Batman
