It's kino.
>>150118486sex with jenna
>>150118486Never watched it, and I doubt it's as kino as the real serum run>previous talk about sled dogs being replaced with airplanes but no plane at that time could withstand extreme cold temperatures>children kept getting sicker as winter approached>ports freeze over and shut down, leaving entire communities isolated by all means except land>serum cure needs to be relayed between dozens of experienced sledders that need to stop by fires to keep it warm enough so it can still work>most of the run happened in the dark polar night where you can't see anything and had to put your whole faith in your sled dogs and their sense of direction>the main runner was rushing to deliver the serum to save all those kids, not even knowing his daughter was now one of them>the whole run was so impactful it gave birth to a BRAND NEW TRADITION in the iditarod racesYou couldn't make half these things up if you tried. I'm so glad baltostruestory is still available on the internet archive cause the entire story is a testament of human culture. It's a great story about community and tradition triumphing over disaster. There are enough literary themes to make fictional stories blush. It almost makes the whole thing feel mythical. Of course, it's hard to figure out just how risky Seppala was being, since we're so divorced from the time now, but I think the grander points of the run still stand. It's a real shame Balto got all the glory when he was the equivalent of a benched kid getting to play at the end of the game.
>>150118486...of furshit
>>150118486i loved it as a kid. it also kinda fucked with me much later when i realized balto doesnt speak at all in the final scenes cause his voice actor quit before recording anything more lol.
>>150119059I like how the sledder gets conveniently knocked out the whole trip so the dogs can make all the decisions themselves
>>150119059>I'm so glad baltostruestory is still available on the internet archiveSorry for being a fucking idiot but please can you spoonfeed a link, this sounds interesting
>>150118486balto is a loser nerd whose advances jenna would spurn irl
>>150120508https://web.archive.org/web/20230614000439/https://www.baltostruestory.net/It's super comprehensive and a great read. Whoever ran the site did a wonderful job at researching and gathering pictures.
>>150118486Why did zoomer youtubers and their consoomer audience like you suddenly remembered this exists
>>150118486Watch BaltoSkip Balto 2Watch Balto 3
>>150118486Balto 2 is one of those movies that really makes think "what the fuck were they thinking"
>>150122716right? there is something very off about 2 and i believe it got that symptom of every good movie that gets ruined in a sequel, i guess the word is infantilized? Besides the cheap animation, you have cheap effects, forced music and childish humor were an insult for those who watched the first movie. I am not saying the first one was a masterpiece, it has its flaws but it challenge you to know when something was serious or sad without telling you how to feel, it had stakes, something the 2nd failed so much at and worse it retconned the famous scene of the white wolf which is supposed to represent HIS wolf side, NOT that it was his mother, what kind of retard didn't get that?At least 3 knew how fucked up 2 was so they did their best to correct its writing and didn't treat you like an infant, also 2 felt like a sequel from 1, as if they really made an alternate sequel
>>150121675>Offspring: None. Balto was neutered (castrated) at approximately six months of age.goddamn.to be fair i was expecting slander but in reality it's just expanding the story and showing that balto is not the only one who deserves the spotlight. Now i want to see a story involving togo and fritz, too
>>150121675so balto's fame was just a lucky opportunity, because of that travel he gain the fame we know of today.
Didn't Balto 3 have a completely different script that got rewritten?
>>150123087>Now i want to see a story involving togo and fritz, tooThere is a 2019 film called "Togo", if live action's up your alley. I haven't seen it but it should scratch that itch. I also found this 3 hour podcast on youtube that seems to be pretty good. It includes accounts of the other runners too, which is nice because it's quite easy to focus on Seppala and Togo being as cool as they are that you overlook the rest of the equally as important sledders.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHu-w1KBi5I>>150123150Half the things in life come down to being at the right place at the right time. If it wasn't Balto then another random dog would be famous in his place. The reporter deliberately ignored the experienced lead dog (Balto was a co-lead) because he was named Fox and would be confusing to read about.
