as we all know. in the 1960s, during those golden, halcyon years, back when the jukebox was king and Coke cost a dime, Marvel (as we know it, anyway.) got it's start. giving the world the fabulous Fantastic Four, the atomic monster known as the Incredible Hulk, the mystic Mighty Thor, the so-called 'Golden Avenger', the Invincible Iron Man. and many other characters that continue to captivate the imagination six decades later. beloved and hated the world over, but never forgotten.and out of all of this, of course. there came one of the most recognizable, famous fictional characters of all time. the Amazing Spider-Man. first appearing in June of 1962 in Amazing Fantasy #15...but what was Amazing Fantasy before that? well. it was Amazing *ADULT* Fantasy... and before all that. it was Amazing Adventures.and with all that said, let us now take a trip, oh ye faithful True Believers. to the mighty Marvel Age of the swingin' sixties. and dive into some... Amazing Adventures.
Ads are all excluded. I think i don't have the text stories for this first issue either.

>>150119056thanks anon.
>>150119056Coke cost a nickel. Pepsi cost a dime, but you got 12oz to Coke's 7oz.
>>150119227Stan didn't sign the story, so that means he didn't write it. Did Ditko?
>>150119215>If they do come back, we'll be ready! We have plenty of practice shooting each other at the drop of a hat.

I'll probably post the other issues whenever I get off work. if this thread dies before that happens i'll just make a new one
"Dr. Droom" would later become Dr. Druid in the 70s.
>>150122186Thanks for the storytime. I have a big softspot for these monster mags. I wish more could have been done with these guys in a natural way. Modern efforts just boil down to another heartless attempt to turn more literal whos into marketable wholesome chungus baby groots. The 2000's marked the last time Marvel really attempted to use these monsters as actual characters. For those who havent read them I highly recommend the Marvel Monsters books from 2005. You get alot of fun match ups in that series.
>>150122204Isnt it something how many false starts marvel had back in the day? The Agents of Atlas are effectively a collection of characters like Droom. Predecessors to much more successful ideas just a few years away. Also, just to bump the thread, Strange Tales #77 to #95 have been discovered to be public domain for the last 35 years, meaning notable characters like Fing Fang Foom and Ape-Man are free to use.
Alright.
>>150123890Yes
>>150122168Ah yes, Dr. Droom
>>150122278>meaning notable characters like Fing Fang Foom and Ape-Man are free to use.Oh hell yeah, hypothetically someone could use ol' Foom in a movie and do it RIGHT.
