But I also don't have access to that flatbed scanner and it's a large trade paperback, with awful gutters, and I suspect would definitely need to be taken apart and essentially destroyed as a book to do a good scan job. If it was $19, I'd be down for that anyways, but $40-50, not so sure. Especially since I already own Superboy Team Ups and Adventures of Superboy and want to potentially flat bed scan those since I don't have to destroy a proper HC and the Team Up TPB isn't as tightly glued to the gutter or as many pages, like the DC Finest are.So I'm just thinking about it. I wouldn't waste time or money on Robin or any other Gotham based characters though, sorry.

Doing it with a flatbed would mean a hell of manipulation to get each page scan except if I dismantled the books. Do not worry about the centered, rotation and clean up too much. I don't. I'm not a purist and this is not the Mona Lisa or the Sistine Chapel ceilings. Most of these comics originally were badly printed and crooked and yet they were avidly read. Don't obsess about that. Do the best you can without losing the fun in doing it. I usually do it while listening to music which breaks the monotony of the repetitive actions that scanning is all about. And get yourself a pair of clamps, they'll do wonders stretching the pages when they wrinkle especially in very thick books. Just do it for the fun you can get out of it. Cheers.

I dip into some of Mini Figs threads and always give him a bump or two since I became aware of him from storytiming things I was interested in. I'm not always interested in what he does (e.g. no interest in British humor, for example), but I have no issue bumping him if I happen to be around and he's in the catalog. You WILL have to open yourself up to some ego bruising. I only storytime during certain time periods (holidays) for that reason.

And DC has been notorious in the past, especially after they let ago a lot of their DC Direct employees (who were the ones who used to be in charge of the catalogue trade collections/sales, not just figures and statues and the like), before even the AT&T merger, but DC had released poor quality reproductions for digital sales on CMX and elsewhere which were clearly based on the existing scans done within the scene, as were clear from some of the scan grid/guide marks on sold digital pages. But in any event, these are archive editions, so they are already reprints and/or reproductions 'of the original comics' - whether DC took them from the original or recreated them or remastered the originals is something they likely only know and certainly varies from archive to archive and compilation to compilation.
