In retrospect her character feels off compared to all the others. She's written like she's the make a wish kid inserted into the story to feel good and act cool, in the sense that she never fails at anything or has any opportunity to act like a real person or be part of a joke. We know almost nothing about her which is appropriate since we view her through the eyes of Dean (who also doesn't know anything about her despite his infautation). It's a sexist show, I don't really know how else to put it. The defense is that it's a show focused on toxic masculinity and how males stay in arrested development without strong female figures around or whatever stupid excuse Doc and Jackson (and fans unwilling to actually acknowledge the show's flaws) have given. But even then, that still means females are there in service to the men.

Doc and Jackson had no interest in women. They had an obsessive interest in men and male relationships, relationships with their fathers and all the homosexual undertones and that would be fine if they admitted they just wanted to make a show for men confused about their identities (in general and sexually). But that was never the point, it was just a stupid pulp action parody that at some point in the second season they started getting a big head about and it's a show where females have no place despite all of the pseudo-progressive bullshit they slap on it.

Again, she was only supposed to be a one off character and Doc and Jackson unironically got worked into a seething shoot at her popularity and fans wanting to see more of her. So they had it casually mentioned that she moved away and became a christcuck as a way of saying "fuck you, she's never coming back." Of course, if Kim had been a guy named Ken he probably would have stuck around and had some kind of homoerotic rivalry with Hank and Dean.

She always treated Dean decently despite how awkward he acted around her, which was nice.
