The overall structure is not directly 1:1 compared to most films ever made, but it's unfair to say it's "bad" because it operates within its own prose. I don't see why it's too objectionable to say that films serve as an aesthetic experience. The film clearly has its own persona. Also I just reject the idea that films can't be appreciated for 1 aspect anyway. It's ridiculous.
