Did Matt groening actually do this godawful artwork for the Simpsons VHS?
No. Matt just signs his name on a ton of Simpsons art as an ownership thing. Don't worry, he is still a shit artist.
>According to DVD commentary, none of the writers got permission to use any of the aliens in the police line-up (except for Kang/Kodos, which is the show's creation. and, retroactively, Chewbacca, since Disney now owns both Lucasfilms and FOX), making this "the most illegal shot in animation history." The only complaint the writers got was when Paul Fusco, the man who voices ALF, told them that they should have called him up to voice his character rather than use the regular staff.
>>150151008Groening just has his name attached to everything officially licensed. There are very few and far instances of him actually doing the art for stuff like box art and comics and shirt or whatever. Mike Judge has the same deal for Beavis & Butthead and King of The Hill.>>15015207820th Century Fox owns "The Day The Earth Stood Still", so I wouldn't imagine there would be a problem with using Gort for a cameo.
