>Filmmaker tries animation once
>It's a masterpiece

Should happen more often. Live-action filmmakers have the experience to frame, organise, coordinate real humans and settings, giving their art a sense of naturalism that current animation desesperately needs.

Maybe also, animation students should be required to direct at least one or two live-action shorts before graduating.

I heard (0 proof) that the book is better.

The protagonist kills himself in the end. So there's that.

In the book?

My French is lousy, and I won't be able to understand half of what everyone's saying...... unless I settle for 720p. Guess the movie wasn't pushed enough, or people just didn't like it.

I can't speak for all animation schools but we had to do some live action in mine as part of the course. Split into groups and had to make a silent short film with I think 5 separate shots or so. Was pretty fun and showed one of the inherent benefits of live action which was instant (comparatively) results and retakes, so it was easy to adjust things as we did takes and then edit it all together.

720p is acceptable

Yes, but the fact no one combined a 1080 rip with 720 subs is sad.

Lynch is dead, anon.

Wes Anderson did make good stop-motion cartoons, so I can see it being true in some cases, yes.

Remember that the last time a live action film maker got involved in cartoons it was strictly carried by a anime studio whos people were trained by Hayao Miyazaki himself.

Because Animaniacs'2020 and Tiny Toons Looniversity proved that said live action film maker can't do it alone (regardless that that was all Wellesley Wild and Erin Gibson's fault and that Spielberg was powerless to stop them).

Spielberg was the exception, live action people need to stay in live action as EXCLUDING Spielberg (he still produced Roger Rabbit after all) every other live action reserved person has been poison.

Leave cartoons to the cartoonists.

Can't you just download subs from somewhere?
