Hey, I wanna do a storytime of some of my favourite comics, but I don’t know the rules of it. Can ya guys tell me how to do it? I also have some other specific questions:

1. Can I do more than one issue a thread? Does it depend on the length of a single issue? If the issue is short, you can put another with it or something? If so, how many pages must one thread contain?

2. Are the threads to be made once a week? Or you can make more in one week? Is there a golden hour to start such threads?

3. Can I start from the middle of an ongoing comic series? The one I wanted to post only gets good starting from the middle (new writer gets put on the comic).

4 Any recommended websites to pull the comic from? I was thinking of pulling from readcomiconline.

4. What should be the formatting for the ‘Subject’ line and the ‘Comment’?
>>
You literally just start a thread with the name of the comic in "Subject" and post the comic one page at a time

Although 4chan timer isn't made with storytimes in mind, so you'll have to wait a minute for each, which can add up if you're storytiming something lengthy

>If so, how many pages must one thread contain?
Max possible amount is 300 images per thread, most people know this and won't post any other images in a storytime thread
>other questions
Kek it's cute how you actually think anyone bothers with making any sort of rules for this
There are no strict regulations for any of these things whatsoever
>4 Any recommended websites to pull the comic from? I was thinking of pulling from readcomiconline.
You can also download from getcomis (easier to find collections) or libgen.li if you can access that (easier to find individual issues)

Thanks for the answer, guys

It's 4chan culture for other anons not to post images , reaction images or not during storytime. It's also possiblw the threadight die too soon, but I try to bump storytime threads if I can

Like anons said, there's not a rigid structure to it.
I get that you think that, because the guys here are crazy entitled and once you start storytiming, they act like they're your boss. But really, you're doing this out of your good will and on your free time, so just do it any way you think is best.

That said, though,
>5. What should be the formatting for the ‘Subject’ line and the ‘Comment’?
It is nice to put "(Title) Storytime" in the subject and/or comment everyt ime, so we can find it and follow it more easily.

Another question, guys. What’s the best way to convert the pages from cbz files to pngs?
>>
>>150153336
That costs money no? I can’t really pay. I will do it the new-fashioned way
>>
One thing I wish people would do it post links to the comic being storytimed so some of us who would rather not wait for you can just read it. Especially if you are doing one issue anways.

>>150153409

Rename .cbz to .zip and extract the files. If it's .cbr then rename it to .rar
>>
>>150153409
Oh, no worries. I figured it out. I just used the website called FreeConvert and it did the trick

I will keep that in mind when I post mine (readcomiconline link)
>Rename .cbz to .zip and extract the files. If it's .cbr then rename it to .rar
Man, that’s a much better way. Really thank you

welcome, newfag

what's the diff, i've been renaming all of them to .rar and they seem to be fine
>>
>>150153605
You don't even need to rename them, just open them with winrar or 7zip or whatever.

I have been storytiming for a few years so I'll help you out:
>Can I do more than one issue a thread? If the issue is short, you can put another with it or something?
That ultimately depends on what you're storytiming. If you're storytiming the comics coming out on NCBD, then you can usually get away with it if they're actually relevant to be read together (see: the weekly X-Book threads). But don't risk it if you're not sure.
>Does it depend on the length of a single issue? If so, how many pages must one thread contain?
No, just dump the issue and move on. Unless you're dumping an entire run (the max image cap for a thread is 300), you don't really have to think of anything other than the filesize of the page.
>Are the threads to be made once a week? Or you can make more in one week? Is there a golden hour to start such threads?
You can have max 5 threads up on the board, if the comic already has a storytime thread up just move on to another comic. There isn't really a golden hour on anything, they just get storytimed whenever the rips are released.
>Can I start from the middle of an ongoing comic series? The one I wanted to post only gets good starting from the middle (new writer gets put on the comic).
Sure, go right ahead.
>Any recommended websites to pull the comic from? I was thinking of pulling from readcomiconline.
Look at the Win-O'-Thread or just ask the people there for other sites. Don't pull your pages from sites with watermarks on them.
>What should be the formatting for the ‘Subject’ line and the ‘Comment’?
"[Comic Title] [Issue Number] Storytime" for the subject. You don't really need to put anything in the comment field.

this is bait from a marvel and/ord dc employee.

>1. Can I do more than one issue a thread? Dump whatever you have. it doesnt matter

>2. Are the threads to be made once a week? Whenever you want to . it doesnt matter.

>3. Can I start from the middle of an ongoing comic series? The one I wanted to post only gets good starting from the middle (new writer gets put on the comic).
it doesnt matter

>4 Any recommended websites to pull the comic from? I was thinking of pulling from readcomiconline.
download it instead of getting it from RCO or a free site, RCO has watermarks

>4. What should be the formatting for the ‘Subject’ line and the ‘Comment’?
just put the title of the book in the subject field
