If their powers compensate for a lack of full armor then I'm not opposed to some female heroes (not all, some should be sensibly armored for realism) showing skin on duty. But then I should also be seeing an equal number of shirtless or bootyshorted or kilt-wearing men going into battle flashing that skin.
