what comics did you read today ?
>>150156179Dark Horse Conan
>>150156179Marvel Team-Up #53 - 55, Spidey teams up with Hulk, Adam Warlock and forgotten Marvel character Woodgod. Spidey goes to the moon! Very silly story, but the John Byrne pencils are a delight.
>>150156217I dont care at all about Conan
>>150156747Wasn't asking, and you have a vagina.
>>150156836>you have a vagina.you wish fagazor
Orchard of the Tame by Marlo Meekins and Nick Cross. If you like Bone and/or Over the Garden Wall you'll probably get something out of it.
Guardians of the Galaxy Epic collection 2. About to start a three-parter where they appeared in Marvel Two-in-One
I hit the random button so I'm on issue 4/6 on green lantern rebirth>>150156179Nexus is based
>>150156179Pic related.
>>150156179
I've been going through the original Avengers off and on. Vision just joined.
>>150157448ITS SPOOKY TIME
>>150158181Ill probably start reading some Hellboy then
>>150156179I read the first two issues of The Wraith mini from Annihilation Conquest. It’s not very good
Finished Seven To Eternity and the recently released Tom Scoli Space Opera thing. Might try to do the second trade of Kings and Thieves or some Conan today.
Good shit. I'll probably get around to continuing the series eventually, but for the time being I'm probably going to read something else next.
>>150156179Great series.
>>150156217The first volume of that is one of the best single volumes in comics history.
>>150158509There’s an oversized edition of the first 3 BnW issues 1-26 coming out. You can order it on Barron’s site.
>>150156179Been reading Amazing Spider-Man by Ditko and Lee. I like Ditko's art, but not all of the dialogue works.
reading absolute martian manhunterpretty cool
>>150160240i seem to be the only one who doesnt get the appeal of this book. only rad the first issue art was spectacular but nothing about the story being presented interested me. people are saying its the best absolute book when imo thats far from true
Strange Tales 139-145, halfway through 146 now. Fury’s comics are a refreshing change from the Torch/Thing comics; the only good one of those was the one where Reed fucked with them as payback for Thing and Torch dissing the team
Local Man 1-5
>>150160406The action doesn't start until the 2nd issue. The 1st issue is just setup. The main draw for me is the art, but the concept of stochastic terrorism being incited by an alien agent is fun. I think Camp didn't fully grasp stochastic terrorism, but it's still pretty entertaining.
>>150156179First appearance of Super-Skrull
>>150161401He showed up a lot earlier than I was actually expecting. Like I knew he was there early but that was early.
>>150160794The rest of Local Man. If you have any affection for early 90’s image, I highly recommend it.
>>150160240>>150160406its not bad but not great eitherits decent, way better than camps ultimates
>>150156179This one from webtoon called love sickubus because the webtoon ad looked cool. It's about a girl that is a succubus crime lord/assasin/bounty hunter that does oddjobs for the underworld/mafia. Between all this, the succubus is trying to kill a guy to absorb his life energy like succs do, issue is she fell in love with the guy so there's that dilemma. So yeah, cool art and aesthetic, unique monster design, fun action, nice dynamics. It's a decent time waster but not sure if the average /co/gger woudl like it since the main couple is black lel
Nothing right now
Read.
>>150163726webtoon is a cancer
>>150164391this>>150164813no
>>150164813Fuck reading.
>>150156179OG Spider-Man. It's legitimately crazy how much the first few years of this series from the 60's established a franchise that's still milking those things to this day. I'm not sure I've seen people comment upon how unusual it is that Spidey himself springs forth almost fully formed right from the beginning. Save for the web-pits, its a design that goes largely unchanged even until now. Same for a lot of these villains, though Green Goblin needs to wait until his second appearance to get his glider. Starts off with a rocket broom, the weirdo.
>>150165649>Starts off with a rocket broom, the weirdo.post image or it didnt happen
>>150165924nvm
Criminal: KnivesI actually liked this one, which surprised me.
>>150165649A lot of older comics really got the ball rolling past. Stan and Steve did in 15 pages what other later writers would waste half a year on
>>150159513>>150165649Hmm.
i didnt
>>150165649Insane that this is still going.
>>150165479based
>>150162574I don't. Local Man stunk.
>>150156179Few issues of JLI. Got the first of the new thick tpbs of it. Also slowly, savoringly, making my way through Cats of the Louvre.
>>150169310>Cats of the Louvre.Nice.
>>150169310>Few issues of JLI. Got the first of the new thick tpbs of it.I really really hope they continue off those
Is it me, or is the board insanely fast right now?
>>150169213>I don't.Understandable>Local Man stunkalso understandable
>>150170186It's quite fast, but I don't understand how. We're not getting spammed.
>>150170625>We're not getting spammed. We are. Cartoonfags make multiple threads for the same topic.
>>150170921That's normal cartoonfag retardation. Fucking hell we need separate boards. I don't know what it is about cartoons that cause this but goddamn.
>>150171015>I don't know what it is about cartoons that cause thisMental illness.
Superman: The Silver Age Omnibus.
Jack Staff. It's okay.
>>150171015>>150171523Literally Autism. Everyone I've encountered online and IRL that obsesses over cartoons aimed at children are barely-functioning autists.
>>150165933That was so shit lol
>>150173590It was the 60s
I just read the Thing comic story time. Five pages worth of story crammed into 22 pages.
Read through Black Knight: Curse of the ebony blade. fun time, I guess? it's not bad, just whatever.
>>150174606Comics really are way to thin these days
>>150174606Most comics feel like that since the 2000s.
>>150175526I dunno. A lot of stuff in the 2000s wasn't so bad. 2010s is where it really got out of hand though.
I'm a big reader who often goes through 4-12 books a month. Currently feel like I'm slacking because I only read the Collected Stories of Gabriel García Márquez along with Of Mice & Men, but nothing else but Superman comics lately. I'm currently on an enormous Superman kick to prepare my pitch to DC a few years down the line with much glee, as I forgot how much I enjoyed his stories. I've read All-Star, Birthright, For All Seasons, The Man of Steel, and the crossover with the Hulk with art by Steve Rude (it was darling!). I'm currently rereading Morrison's JLA to scratch that itch, but I'd appreciate any more recommendations... especially foreign comics that aren't just capeshit. I'm ready to get into the underground, I feel.
>>150176116The Busiek hardcovers are nice and the Trinagle omnis are gonna be collecting a good chunk of stuff. Whatever people might tell you about the Death of, 90s were actually good for a lot of DC
>>150176177Excellent! Thank you. I'm falling in love with Busiek's writing style overall. I have read some other of his Superman works so far. He's great.
>>150158538I really wish I managed to pick up more of the epics.
I hate comics.
>>150177825They're just the worst, aren't they?
>>150156179Re-read this earlier.
>>150177825I LOVE cartoons though btw I'm trans
>>150177983Not as bad as cartoons, but pretty fucking bad.
>>150156179First two issues of Shalvey's Terminator book. No real plot yet, but I'm digging it.
>>150178005was it any good?
>>150178718I find it enjoyable but I'm aware that most of the things I enjoy, everyone else on here seems to fucking hate.
>>150178253>>150178413Samefag
>>150178732/co/ nowadays is just an endless echo chamber and repeating the same tired jokes over and over, don't mind the schizos that dominate this board
>>150178733The first post, I think, was pretending to be me, not knowing I hate cartoons even more.
>>150178732Examples?
>>150178743I try but fuck anon, its tiring
>>150179090You sneaky bastard, you almost got me
>>150178743>>150171015You can say the same about many boards. There are some things that are only discussed here because they're too niche or obscure. And also the way sometimes it is discussed, the kind of opinions some anons have, I really like it. I can't find that elsewhere. But that's still just a small percentage of the whole website. Everything is mostly bait, schizos, or retarded people that come from gay reddit, youtube, and twitter reposts. /co/ has a serious problem. You can find many threads that are filled with posts like these>yeah>I don't know>cool>no>non sequitur >any simple opinion expressed in 5 words or lessJust look at this thread. I don't care if it's just for bumping threads, and if comics threads deserve it because otherwise they would be archived quickly. If you're not going to contribute with something useful, then you're just making more stagnant the thread. It's neither constructive nor engaging, so the thread has no purpose And yeah, usually cartoonfags are more "special"
>>150178743Doesn't help that a lot of the few people who still care about comics are old and tired.
>>150156179None, for I cannot read...
>>150156179I don't read
>>150165649Ditko and Romita's runs basically defined most of what Spider-Man is about. It's surprising how they nailed it from the very start. Two of the most essential runs of all time
>>150156179My mom's got some neat ones she keeps in a locking bin
>>150169676Yeah it's really nice. You go into it thinking what the hell am I reading and then when the spider dies you realize how invested you are>>150169830Two out so far, fingers crossed. Annual 2 was my favorite story here and I'm not usually a Joker fan.
>>150179108Cool
>>150182479yeahJust like any other thread
>>150179108>>any simple opinion expressed in 5 words or lessThis is an especially insightful point, anon.I'll try to do better. I think everyone around here has grown tired of being called a retard, but I also think that it's safe to assume that those are bot posts- even if they are not. Last night I read Superman Adventures #29, by Mark Millar and Aluir Amancio. It was a tight one and done Bizzarro story featuring Lobo, Lois and some Superman cosplayers. Mark Millar defiantly works better with constraints, imo. Strangely enough I think this thrill is a perfect place for him. Amancio's art is great. He's a little off model when it comes to the series art style, but no overly so and that's okay with me. He's also really fucking horny. I approve.Pic related is from another issue, but you get the idea.
>>150183195>this thrills/b this titleAs long as I'm blowing another post: I think Superman Adventures is a good comic. However the Scott McCloud issues at the beginning aren't great. It improves once he's gone.
>>150157448there is a werecat and a werewolf in this
