Sure, Tony has his own plot contrivance but even something like his power source isn't something that some lazy hack can use to get himself out of any corner he wrote himself into and likewise at least Reed, for example in First Step, had to build shit to try to solve a problem and didn't rely on something to solve those problems (and yes there were other issues with all this but it's wasn't a simply, lazy plot contrivance).
Isn't it kinda weird how so many black superheroes are either giga iq engineering technology gods or zap zap lighting bolt throwers? Like the black stereotype is their physical abilities not their smarts or fighting from distance yet there are so few black heroes with strength or speed super powers as their core gimmick. I mean, guess there is Luke Cage but that's really about it.
