I think the kid shouldn't have played with the dad's Lego sets.If he really wanted it, he should build his own collection over time. This was his dad's collection and that was how the dad enjoys spending his time.

Nah, I liked the message of this movie because I'm opinionated about these things. Not all adult hobbies are equal. If you're a "lego guy" and you're not creative about it, that's sad. Creative hobbies are objectively superior. Also, if you're a parent, you have obligations. Your life isn't strictly just yours anymore. If you have a hobby you could share with your children, but you don't, you're probably not spending your finite time and energy correctly.

>>150168049Being realistic about it the tower on the furthest from the kid is a shell and assuming the windows are the 1x5x6 trans blue wall piece it has roughly 48 windows so being conservative the skyscraper is at least 60 blocks tall not even counting bricks separating each one a full set of windows for all 4 sides from pick a brick is something in the rage of $260 and it looks like he has at least half a dozen comparable skyscrapers meaning he'd spent at least one and a half grand on windows alone. Using standard two by X bricks hes got in the skyscraper frames alone there about 25 cents a pop meaning at a guesstimate of 2400 per face for the skyscraper so 9600 bricks over 6 skyscrapers would be 57,600 bricks thats around $23,000 on pick a brick meaning the scyscrapers alone in the background are probably something like $25,000 alone and that not including the big back custom lit up one behind Will Ferral's head.
Imagine having a coomlector for a dad. Imagine having all these cool toys but he's a massive autist who keeps them in cages and you're never allowed to play with them I felt the same about comic collectors as a kid. Like, "why put it in a box in a bag, how can you even read it?"
