Tom Kenny's Spongebob voice is beginning to show its wear (which is totally understandable, it's a voice that has to be hell on the vocal cords.) However, I realized that there's not really anyone who can do the Spongebob voice. Every sound-alike online just sounds really off, or has to use heavy filters to make something similar.

Is there anyone who can do a sound-alike to Spongebob?

There was one man who could write Spongebob and he died.
Maybe Kenny shouldn't voice Spongebob, not because he's struggling but because it's not Spongebob and hasn't been for years.

I'd also question if it is as much him putting on a voice as it is just his voice, aka you want a Tom Kenny soundalike, not a Spongebob soundalike.

voice is hell on the ears too

They found a voice for Rick and Morty when everyone thought firing Justin Roiland was the death sentence of the show. There's always a replacement out there. Whether or not they're good at it, is up to the producers and how much they give a shit about choosing the right guy once Tom Kenny or Dan Castellaneta stop being their characters

Surely there should be someone online who can do a good SpongeBob impression. It's not like this is some random obscure character, it's SpongeBob

His voice has changed slightly over each couple of episodes since the beginning. Just compare season 1 to late season 3. Late season 3 I thought it had gone bad. Now he has almost completely lost it.

Can AI save Spongebob's voice?
>>
>>150167403
Yeah, I expect him to retire like Marios VA did. The problem is he also does a lot of other characters the French Narrator, Patchy and Gary so they would need replacements too

Issue with Simpsons is that if Dan, Hank or Harry croaks, you'd probably need at least 3 actors each to fill their shoes. Same happened with Jim Henson characters.

I feel like SpongeBob's voice can be split up into a few different eras
>Season1-early season 2
Started off really low, fit how much more calm the atmosphere of season 1 was.
>Late season 2-season 3
Was when Kenny really found his footing for the character
>Season 4-5
Got really high pitched, even the audio level of his voice seemed to overpower everything else. Was really fucking grating
>Season 6-onward
Seemed like they managed to tone it back a bit, wasn't as grating and didn't clash against the rest of the sounds, but he never went back to sounding the same as he did pre movie
He's basically sounded the same ever since, only these past couple of years has age has really began to show in Kenny's performance
