I don’t mean running gags, I mean when the writers use the exact same setup/payoff more than once. For example, there are two different occasions in which Bart and his friends excitedly sneak into an R-rated movie expecting tits and gore and end up watching a surrealist drama (Barton Fink and Naked Lunch).
