It makes me sad that cable TV is dying out, since this means people won’t watch the same cartoons or share the same cultural references, making it harder for everyone to connect and make friends, especially children.

Same, but what can you do? There’s no going back to the days we were all watching a stream at the same time and had a week to talk about an episode before the next one. Detrimental as that might be to discussion and building hype, it was inevitable because on-demand streaming is simply more convenient for everybody.

This however is just wrong. Kids these days are still watching the same YouTube or TikTok videos and if their friends haven’t seen them, they can just pull out their phone and show them.
