Nothing in the remarkably limited advertising generated any kind of attention to be paid. The premise wasn't enough, there needed to be more of a hook than just another fish out of water bluffing their way through a chaotic scenario. Especially when you did the most literal example of that 4 years prior.I feel like the problem with animated films for a long time now has been the lack of a clear, direct, undeniable antagonist that isn't just the consequences of the characters actions or misunderstood.Shit, when's the last time we had an unambiguous bad guy?
>>150178962He didn't deserve the flop, nudisney is haut evil
>>150178966who???
>>150178962That's not true, it still made a couple hundred million and got pretty positive reviews from the people that did go and watch it. That's something I guess.
>>150178962Who gives a flying fuck? It's a massive downgrade from golden age Pixar, their newer films feel more like they're made for kids rather than being made for everyone, with their child protagonists and sappy lessons for children and shit. Maybe if I had higher expectations for Pixar I'd actually give it a shot. Also fuck the beanmouth GrubHub style I'm glad this shitty film caused normies to turn against it.
My niece wanted a Hello Kitty toy from McDonald's and got a toy from this instead and became VIOLENT.

>>150180458>It's a massive downgrade from golden age PixarHow would you know if you've never watched it? I understand not wanting to pay for tickets or whatever but it released to digital like two weeks ago.
>a gay brown boy gets his eye poked out>and there's aliens I think? No one thinks this is appealing.
>>150180514Don't care. Didn't watch. Still hate it.
>>150180554Afraid you might like it if you watched it or what?
>>150180514You see retard, there's something called wikipedia plots, I didn't really have expectations that high from NuPixar anyway.
next time if you want me to read your post you should use the insult at the end of it
>>150178962What's wrong with his eye?
>>150180633"In Pixar’s Elio, the boy Elio Solís wears an eyepatch because he’s extremely sensitive to light in one eye."
>>150180633he's a pirate
>>150180582not that anon, but you're a retard. Nobody is going to like the same movie you like

>>150180644Oh. There's probably a medical procedure for that.
>>150180654you're saying that as if we're talking about some incredibly niche film only 3 people in the entire world liked

The eye patch/eye injury thing is so outwardly unappealing, I imagine even more so to children. What were they thinking?
>>150182553It looks cute to me.
>>150178962Good.

>>150178962garbage movie, literally chicken little with a mystery meat MC
>>150184283Miguel from Coco, Hiro from Big Hero 6 and who's the other one?
>>150180458>with their child protagonistsThis is what interests me most of all. One of the biggest advantages of 2000s pixar was that it wasn't afraid to make the films about adults who weren't where they wanted to be in life.Even Finding Nemo was mostly about a struggling single father. Ratatouille was about a greenhorn trying to make it before he really had the experience or resume. Like, all of them were about adults and the sides of ourselves we hide from kids because we want them to feel like everything is okay, making the movies as much for parents as they were for kids
>>150178962I was gonna watch it but they removed the belly scene. I don't support pro islam movies
>>150184435>pro islam moviesWtf?

>>150178962You say that but you certainly have fans here who keep bumping your thread instead of just letting it die. So that's something. Keep your bean chin up, el ogro de las americas.

>>150178962They couldn't find something interesting in a story about a kid going to space and meeting aliens
How come "nobody" watched Elio and the Smurfs but it was still quite talked about everywhere, while "nobody" watched The Bad Guys 2, it was actually good, and no one talked a about the Bad Guys?
>>150178962look on the bright side, more people watched your movie than they watched that awful new Smurfs movie
>>150184357almost all of famous pixar films are about a metaphorical or literal father figure. Toy Story, Up, Monsters Inc,, the modern good one, inside out, has a metaphorical mother figure because they figured out what girls are. it is a proven formula so the kid enjoys the pretty scenes and the parent relates to it because parenthood makes you a boring person who can only think of their offspringthis is why wreck it ralph 1 gave everyone pixar vibes, metaphorical dad metaphorical mid life crisis.
