The problem was his accent. The Simpsons didn't want to tell an Indian actor to put on a stereotypical Indian accent.It doesn't matter if they do sound like that. It's the optics. That Indian actor would be seen as a race traitor and Uncle Tom.The only way they'd recast it is to have the Indian use an Americanized accent, like how they assassinated Kahn in King of the Hill.
