If not for getting removed by that documentary, Apu would have eventually just been revoiced like Bumblebee Man and Dr. Hibbert.

Bumblebee Man has a new voice?

Apu was already removed before the documentary but nobody watch zombie Simpsons

I watched that stupid doc in college a few years ago and literally none of the class cared.

The problem was his accent. The Simpsons didn't want to tell an Indian actor to put on a stereotypical Indian accent.

It doesn't matter if they do sound like that. It's the optics. That Indian actor would be seen as a race traitor and Uncle Tom.

The only way they'd recast it is to have the Indian use an Americanized accent, like how they assassinated Kahn in King of the Hill.

>the optics
how about the optics of real life? i can literally think of 7 or 8 convenience stores in the small city i live in that is owned by indians and/or sri lankans. i know of one convenience store owned by an arab family and i go there regularly to pet the shop cat

i haven't even seen the doc to know it's retarded. i know you're just explaining but it's still all so stupid
