Who even likes this dude?
>>150195419I liked him in young justice.
I liked him in Batman Brave and the Bold
>>150195419I like Jaime, but I prefer Ted.
>>150195568Me too. My first introduction to Blue Beetle as a matter of fact.
>>150195419BB is cool, but ted kord being blue beetle is so much better
>>150195419Me, I was the one person truly excited for his movie (turned out middling though)
>>150195419Keith Giffin made his only good run, even then it got carried by GL stuff, I’ll never be sure of what type of role he can actually play, too niche to be a Tom Holland spider man knock off, most readers prefer Ted Kord fucking around in JLI with Booster, and he’s a major side character in team ups
>>150195419I like his powers, I want them all to myself
>>150195976The curse of having a run where the actual appeal is the execution of the writing of the concept, not necessarily the concept itself. Look at Kamala Khan: the actual good thing about her first run was the writing and how it addressed her relationships with the people around her.Obviously, this is not easily replicated across other runs or adaptations. Even when they try to copy the check list of the run's appeal, like in the Blue Beetle movie, that doesn't mean they get anywhere close to actually making it of the same quality. Sure, both the original Giffin run and the movie spend a lot of time fleshing out Jaime's family and his dynamic with them and the openness they have about his super hero life. But they're still vastly different in execution.
>>150195928Same
>>150195561>>150195568I hate cartoonfags so much, comicsbros. But Jaime's only good run is the Giffen one. So many unnecessary changes in the New 52.
>>150196833>The curse of having a run where the actual appeal is the execution of the writing of the concept, not necessarily the concept itself.Jaime as a concept is fine though. He plays into the idea of the Blue Beetle mantle being reworked as it's passed down(from Dan being a magic powered hero, Ted being a nonpowered tech one, now Jaime has alien tech) while also tying to both previous mantle holders.
anyone who read his original run. Hes never reached the same heights as his initial story, its frustartingThats it, ohg and the kids who grew on Brave and the Bold.
>>150195753Dan is the one who people REALLY don't care about
>>150197267Same.
>>150195561He should have fucked Impulse
>>150197267is it the cartoons fault they introduce things better than comics? Comics will be either good or shit or never improve or just forget the character entirely
>>150199151Jaime's introduction was better in the comics though.
>>150197829Yet for some reason they brought him back recently.
>>150197829Ironically, historically Dan had the highest highs in terms of popularity. It was just 80 years ago.
>>150195419i do
>>150195419Me
>>150195419Solo en cines.
>>150197267Animation fits Superheros better
>>150195419I do ):
>>150201378It is like John Carter or the original Captain Marvel, characters that lost their popularity because of reasons.
Bump Beetle
>>150195561>>150195568I love cartoonfags so much, comicsbrosIt's cool how these characters, almost always first encountered during childhood, are constantly reinterpreted in ways, showing the many different ways we reflect back on our own lives. For instance, >>150199132 was molested as a boy.
>>150195419I like smart tech heroes but I don't know if he counts as one since he's not actually that smart and doesn't mess with his tech
>>150199132I'm so mad Greg chickened out on that
