Disney decanonized the Hercules The Animated Series.Disney Villains Hades has Hades meeting Icarus, Medusa and other mythologically characters that are both different in designs and personality to the ones appeared in HTAS. Greatest example is this official canon comic Icarus being nothing like the other official series Icarus.
>>150202864Disney generally never canonized the TV shows to begin with.>Pooh's Heffalump Movie is all about him meeting a titular creature for the first time, ignoring how he already had several encounters with them in the TV show
>>150202864>Bald>Muscular>BeardedHe basically looks like his father, this is clearly TAS Icarus after a glow up.
Didn't these disney tv shows frequently having them interact with characters they shouldn't have met yet? Wasn't Pacha in the emperors new school?
who gives a shit about the canon of some shitty comic or low budget cartoon tie-in for a 27 year old kids movie?
>>150202864it was never canon since Hades knew Herc was alive>>150202977that's a sequel
>>150202864You're off your meds again, OP.
>>150202998>it was never canon since Hades knew Herc was aliveMegara appeared as well, they used the amnesia water plot (literally in the episode where Meg appears) to make everyone forget each others
>>150202977That show couldn't make up its mind on whether it took place before or after the movie.
>>150202954>this is clearly TAS Icarus after a glow up.You could headcanon that, but this Icarus met Hades for the first time and is said to be in bad relationship with his father and speaks in rap , something the cartoon series Icarus wasn't.And this Medusa is different from the shy scaredy girl from the series, the Minotaur is a mindless brute which is different than the nihilist from the HTAS as well.So Jason who is a young rich jerk here despite being old as dirt and happy poor man in the TAS, and the TAS happened before since they reference the Hercules movie events.
>>150202943>Disney generally never canonized the TV shows to begin with.I'm pretty sure the Aladdin cartoon is canon since it continues directly from Return of Jafar.
>>150203351Only because Aladdin never got another theatrical movie like Pooh did.
>>150203014No it clearly took place before the movie, aside from that one episode that used a flashback narrative for after the movie.
>>150203474Explain how Pacha's wife already had her third child in the show when she's still pregnant with him in the movie.
>>150203351the sequel movie is canon but can be canon without the series
>>150202864I never considered the tv shows canon.
TV show was better than movie.
What makes the comic more canon than the show?
>>150203709Disney saying the Disney Villains book series are true real absolute canon
>>150202864IT'S FUCKING SPIN-OFF SHIT AND LICENSESHIT RESPECTIVELY YOU IDIOT
>>150203709She ate him
>>150203499She ate the baby
>>150202864Canon to what? The single other movie? "Canon" doesn't mean much if your entire franchise is 2 works.
>>150202864Next you're going to tell me Timon and Pumbaa weren't mining for gold in the Klondike or eating chili on the surface of the Sun.
>>150204236Would you rather consoom a TV show which is quite good, ow would you consoom a low effort book?
>>150203351>I'm pretty sure the Aladdin cartoon is canon since it continues directly from Return of Jafar. That doesn't mean anything. Return of jafar might as well not be canon. Hell, it probably isn't canon.
>>150202864>icarus goes from spastic weirdo to gigachadBiggest glow up ever.
>>150202864oh nonot the sacred HTAS canon
>>150203499>
>>150203387King of Thieves, though that was direct to VHS and could easily be non-canon except for Iago's integration into the cast.
>>150204236That's just until if becomes disadvantageous, at which point it won't be canon anymore. They're not trying to build a legacy, they just want to make money.
>>150204549I love that show
>>150206472They snuck in some cameos of recurring characters from the TV series near the end during the wedding scene, and the original plot was supposed to be Aladdin and Mozenrath being revealed as brothers. King of Thieves was always meant to be the show's "series finale" of sorts, like how Return of Jafar was the pilot.
