According to Scott Snyder, if a series isn't doing well the creative staff and DC's editorial will try to figure a new direction with the book rather than just replace the current talent involved or cancel the book in one sweep14:38 markhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cK54MhZGtf0
5 MORE YEARS OF KING ON WONDER WOMAN
>>150207358I’ll have to admit, DC is a bit better at letting titles go on for a bit and grow instead of killing them at the slightest hint of a problem.
>>150207358i dont care about that, the OP image made me giggle though
>>150207358Better than cancelling the book but I wouldn't mind a new writer if they're not working out.
>>150207358this is why manga is doing better. if a book doesn't do well, they just cancel it, doesn't matter if the creative team has any sense of prestige to their names this also means they need to actively find talent too
>>150208020>manga i like ends up getting cancelled>garbage manga ends up going for hundreds of chapters
>>150208020That's literally what they were doing in the past
>>150208020You write like a bot
You think Scott Snyder ever went as Two Face for Halloween?
>>150207358Oh yeah like that happened with Metamorpho
>>150208247Wasn't that always meant to be a miniseries?
>>150208247I don't think Ewing's Metamorpho could've been "fixed" in a way that wouldn't have destroyed its whole appeal to begin with
>>150208020That only happen on the Shonen Jump and now their lineup looks like a wasteland. They are basically fucked after One Piece ends and nobody care for the rest of the magazine.
>>150207358Wow what amazing revelation! As if anyone with a brain didn’t already know this
>>150208020>if a book doesn't do well, they just cancel itOh fuck off, weeb. There is plenty of manga that ends up changing direction rather than cancel it immediately. Medaka Box for example starts out as a silly comedic high school series about a suggestion box proposing mundane ways to improve the school and the student council going to ridiculous lengths to fulfil them and after few volumes it turns into a fucking battle manga with underground dungeon crawling and super powers and stopping the moon from crashing towards the Earth. It’s also well known that editors insist that successful manga to continue onward even when the creator themself would like to wrap it up
>>150209273Most B-list titles start as ongoings and get turned into miniseries if they don’t have the sales to continue. In rare cases like Swamp Thing and Poison Ivy they manage to get past 6-12 issues.
>>150209528Snyder himself said this was new
