They both try to ruin a lot of their heroines' appeal by having them raped, blacked, gaywashed, brownwashed, or just turned into whores.Both companies seem to have an odd trend where the more a heroine is known by the general public, the less the company has any idea how to handle them, or even deliberately mishandles them. Look at Supergirl and Batgirl being two of the DC heroines any casual can recognize, but the comics spent decades trying to replace them. Look at Marvel's failed efforts to push any of the girls who became household names because of the MCU, often completely failing to get what people liked about them in the movies.
