>The film premiered on January 6, 2020. Initially, the series was planned as a 12-episode run on CW Seed, but after the first episode aired, these plans were altered, and the series was repurposed into a direct-to-video animated film titled Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons: The Movie. The film was released digitally and on Blu-ray in August the same year. How often does this happen
>>150209556Fairly often. When the suits get skittish about the amount of funding a full season needs, but foolishly already paid for some of it to be made, they'll often just make them edit it down to a shorter series/movie.
>>150209556This got memory-holed big time
>>150209585any examples?>>150209668IKR? I just remembered it because of another thread >>150208759I haven't watched it yet so I'll finally get around to it this evening
>>150209858The first one that actually comes to mind is an anime, Gundam F91. Which was meant to be a whole series but got reworked into a movie. It starts with one of the most beautiful, hauntingly animated scenes of mecha warfare to this day, and then slowly turns into a poorly animated Gundam TV show in quality by the end. I know there's been others, often a season cut down to put into a movie or something, but they're escaping my memory at the moment.
>>150209858Disney's Atlantis was supposed to have a series, they stitched up the first three eps into a direct to DVD 'movie'
>>150210351Same with the first Cinderella sequel.
>>150210222>tripsok thanks anyways>>150210351>>150210394Til this day, the only disney sequel I've seen is Lion King 1 1/2l
>>150209556Crazy that it was only 5 years ago they were trying to capitalize on Deathstroke as a protagonist. Now the internet seems all-in on calling him a pedophile.
>>150210586tik tok I assume?
