The characters don't look like realistic humans. A high frame rate is not going to fool you into thinking the action is real. It amuses me to see people complaining about how it plays with the frame rate like Spiderverse without realizing that the reason for it is because it was done by the same studio and that's a signature style they've developed. It's not as though they're incapable of animating at the traditional framerate, since they do it during action scenes to help make the dynamic movements feel smoother and faster.
